Went to the Majestic Theatre to see Phantom of the Opera, amazing. Truly moving and emotional. Great performance. We went to the Box office on the Monday and bought tickets for the Tuesday matinee, $50 each, bargain. Good seats, could see it all and felt we got the whole Broadway experience.

There is an abundance of theatres and various shows ongoing along Broadway at all times.
We had intended to see a show , any show, however we found the cost of same to be excessive even for the lower end tickets so we gave it a miss.
That said, I can see the appeal for many and its certainly does draw you in even if you have little interest in musicals.

Any trip to New York should include a Broadway Show, and when your daughter is studying Musical Theatrethen maybe two.
We had booked to see Phantom using Attraction Tickets Direct having previously used them for theme park tickets in Florida. We didn't know where our seats would be until the night of the show, tickets collected from box office, all we knew was that we would be in the orchestra stalls. Turned out that our tickets were in the second row and what a superb experience it was.
My wife and youngest also went to see Beetlejuice on another night and thoroughly enjoyed that too. Even just walking around at night and soaking up the atmosphere is an experience although doing it in December just before Christmas it was absolutely freezing.

If you are easily offended do not see this show. My wife and I are not and we lived it. At the Eugene O'Neil theatre drinks are a bit pricy but you get a good view and the acoustics are really good, so good my wife thought the show was lip synced. A funny show, not too long to wait for a drink. Buy your tickets beforehand to avoid disappointment.

What a great musical to watch with my son on our trip to NYC. There's plenty of musicals to choose from.
When we first arrive in NYC we stopped by Times Square and walked to the ticket booth of the musical we wanted to see later in our trip. There were plenty of seats available for the show we wanted to catch couple days later.
Westside Story was the first Broadway musical for my teen boy and I was so ecstatic to be there and watch the show with him. One of mom's pleasures to spend magical first moments with their children. As they grow up, there won't be enough of these precious moments. My own memory of when my dad took me to NYC as a teen, was my first Gucci purse from 5th avenue. Needless to say, we bypassed 5th avenue on this trip. Perhaps on a next trip to NYC perhaps my son will take me to a show or 5th avenue.. A mom can dream.

A visit to NY is not complete till you have seen one of the shows on Broadway. The main road & a few of the by lanes have many theatrs where musicals, comedy & classic shows are played throughout the year.
Some of the shows are running for ages & still are packed throughout the year.

The Majestic Theatre 🎠on Broadway in NYC, we were desperate to see a show whilst we were on holiday especially as it was winter in NYC. We went to TKTS and managed to get circle tickets to watch Phantom of the Opera at The Majestic Theatre on Broadway. Oh what a night, oh what a show.. it was truly out of this world. We have seen the show before at the opera house in Manchester but this surpassed anything we could have imagined. From entering the theatre to leaving the after the show it was amazing. It is a must do when you go, catch a show in Broadway đźŽ

Great experience, good seats fro $102 in side of front mezzanine (good view). Booked them with Headout and got around $40 off. Tickets were collected 10 yards from theatre entrance which was a worry but okay in the end. Had a pre-threatre meal in the Indian across the road. Busy but decent enough food.
At intermission ordered 2 very small bottles of water for $12. I'd rather they add $6 to the ticket and say there's a free bottle of water than show you they are robbing you. Maybe it's because I'm Scottish !

This is why we come to NYC. No other city compares to New York when it comes to theatre. The talent and productions are unsurpassed. We actually saw 4 plays while there. Every performance was stellar including the very powerful “Thoughts of a Colored Man”. It’s a bit under the radar now but good seats can be had for a discount(Playbill.com). We were actually 3 tow center for our performance, well worth your time and money. Of course we also saw “To Kill a Mockingbird” for the second time. We enjoyed more this time. “Ain’t Too Proud” and Mrs. Doubtfire were equally entertaining and worth the money. Of course we found discounts on Playbill and TheatreMania that saved us money. Remember Broadway in New York separates this city from all others(including London). There is no equal.

Plenty of places to see a superb musical around the world but maybe nowhere better than here in New York City - Broadway - the place to be. Saw Tina and Phantom and so professionally done. Tip - go the Time Square on the morning that you plan to see a musical and look out for the red TKTS sign near the steps of Time Square for discounted prices.
