My husband and I booked this tour and it was our first activity upon arriving in Belfast, and I highly recommend starting any visit to Belfast with a Paddy Campbell's Black Cab tour! Our guide Dermot was amazing, incredibly knowledgable and added personal stories to his tour making it even more special. Our group of 4 included 2 friends who live outside of Belfast (one of whom who is Irish) and even though they have taken the tour before and are familiar with the city, they still learned a lot. I highly recommend this tour, and Dermot!!
Show more...We arranged in advance for Paddy Campbell’s Black Cab taxi company to pick us up at the airport, take us on a tailor made Mural’s tour which included a visit to Clonard Monastery and to be dropped off at the Titanic Experience. Later on we were collected and taken to the Crown Liquor Plaza for a meal and finally back to the airport.
The booking system for us was as simple as a phone call a week or two before departure to discuss and agree the service we wanted to receive. On arrival at Belfast International we were telephoned by the company explaining exactly where we were going to be collected and this was the entirely reliable service we continued to receive all day.
Paddy Campbell himself collected and returned us to the airport and conducted our Murals tour. We found him to be a very knowledgable, friendly person who wad happy to answer all our questions. He was unbiased and gave a balanced account of the Troubles and we came away feeling we’d had a thought provoking but enjoyable experience.
I would thoroughly recommend Paddy Campbell’s Black Cab taxi company. They were largely responsible for the success of our day and made it ‘work’ for us. There were absolutely no hitches at all and we have no criticisms whatsoever of the company,
Based on our experience I would have no hesitation in using this company again and wholeheartedly recommend them to others.
We were picked up at our hotel by Peter and straight away we knew we would enjoy this tour. He was most welcoming and very funny from start to finish. We could not recommend this great guy enough if you are looking for a fun filled and extremely informative tour of Belfast’s Falls and Shankhill areas and all it’s history.
He was happy to answer any questions and gave a balanced view of his time growing up in the troubles.
Easily the best tour guide in Belfast. Excellent value for money.
He even threw in a packet of Tayto and yes they tasted better than down south.
Overall we could not recommend this tour for anyone looking to further understand the history of this beautiful city.

Although we're from here and knew the general history of the place, we were impressed by the level of detail and local stories Paddy B had at his fingertips. It was both informative and entertaining and we never noticed the time passing. He told us at the beginning that he would give us the tour "warts and all" and that's exactly what he did regardless of which part of the city we were in. He also told us stories where the goodness of people shone through in terrible times, again regardless of what part of the city they were from, including the army. We visited places which I had only heard of before, and saw first hand, the conditions that many had to live through.
We would thoroughly recommend Paddy B for anyone wanting to have an enjoyable and informative tour.
Superb tour, our driver ‘Gerry2’ was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us anywhere we wanted to visit and was open to any questions. His knowledge of the area was excellent and he was happy to share it with us. He took us to some very interesting murals and was able to speak at length about the history behind each one. I can thoroughly recommend both the tour and especially the driver to anyone interested in this subject.
Show more...We booked this tour in lieu of the shore excursion offered by Celebrity Cruises. Paddy was very helpful in clarifying the arrangements and proactive to ensure that our driver John C met us at the port at the time the ship arrived. John was great in providing a history of the conflict in Ireland, providing colourful stories (albeit depressing) and examples of the conflict that was interesting and educational. We toured various sites in Belfast, made our way out to the Dark Hedges, Giant's causeway, Dunluce Castle and drove to a scenic point to view the Carrack A Rede Rope Bridge. We (at our option) avoided Bushmills distilleries to ensure that we could get back to the ship prior to departure. In hindsight, would have made it back but aired on the side of caution. John seemed to know everyone that we crossed paths with which served as a testament of his local upbringing. This was beneficial as that passion was incorporated into the narrative of the tour itself. The Giant's causeway took a little longer than planned as you are at the mercy of the bus schedule running between the parking lot and causeway. The cost was quite reasonable (4 people) compared to Celebrities shore excursion, having a private car is always better than sitting on the bus full of people. we were offered bottled water and some light snacks during the ride. John bought the kids some ice cream as well!
I would highly recommend this tour especially if you only have 8 hours to spend in Belfast. Thanks Gents for creating a great experience for our family. Kids aged 18 and 21.
My two friends and I took this tour with Patrick (different Paddy to Paddy Campbell but we booked through him). He was like the mayor of Belfast, as we drove and walked through different areas it was clear he was deeply respected by everyone around him, a very popular local man who was the heart and soul of Belfast City.
We had an incredibly enriching, fascinating, educational, honest tour of the history of Northern Ireland, and in particular of Belfast. Two of our group were Irish and one was Greek/American, and we all learned a huge amount. I had heard this tour was unmissable, and I was really impressed by it. I felt safe and looked after at all times, while also feeling privileged to get to learn about the local history.
On a personal note, Paddy helped me find parking when he first met us, and was kind enough to parallel park my car for me as it's a skill I have not yet mastered! He couldn't have been kinder to us. This was a fabulous experience and I'd recommend it to anyone.
We definitely recommend this amazingly awesome tour! Four of us came on a cruise ship to Belfast for the day (a Monday in July). Pat was our guide and we enjoyed his enthusiastic stories and perfect timing seeing so many sights. He was polite and friendly, and very receptive to what we wanted to see. We saw Carrick-a-Rede bridge, Ballintoy Harbour (Game of Thrones site), Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle from outside, delicious lunch at Ballycastle, and a great Belfast City Tour which really made the history of the Troubles come alive.
Show more...We were a hen do of 8 people so we had a minibus which was very comfy. We were picked up by Trevor at the place we were staying and headed straight out. It was freezing and raining so bad most of the tour but he had umbrellas for us and offered to take our pictures for us. It was a really good time finding out all the history behind the murals etc and At the end he dropped us where we wanted to be in the centre and gave us some advice where to eat and drink. Overall a lovely experience

This tour was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip to Belfast. Our tour guide Gerry 2 picked us up right outside our door bang on time and right from the get go grabbed our attention with his amazing in depth knowledge of Belfast and his friendly demeanour. He was a hive of knowledge throughout the tour and gave us an unrivalled insight into the city and the troubles. His anecdotes and personal experience of growing up in Belfast really set this tour apart.
Show more...The tour allowed us to see so much in just over an hour and a half and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Belfast. For 35 pounds for two people it was extremely good value for such a high quality service, there really is no better alternative if you want to see the murals and understand the history of troubles.
