This indoor market dates back to 1737 and is the only in London located within a World Heritage site. Antiques, arts and crafts and London designer-makers.
Show more...I hadn't really seen a lot of Greenwich before but I would go back for the market alone! It's a bit busy around noon but it's got SO many things to look at. We stopped at a cute little stall and ordered boxes of quiche and salads with extras, it was maybe a tad pricey but we were starving and we needed a picnic! The stalls are useful if you don't want to brave the nearby Nando's (which looked bunged).
It's so relaxing to browse the market and then sit by the river and watch the boats passing, we'll definitely pop back in spring for another visit. It feels like your miles away from London but it's quite a quick trip on the DLR (or the Thames clipper which is a whole other adventure).
We travelled to Greenwich by London Underground, and went to Greewich Market. We arrived at 11.00, knowing that being Easter Saturday it would be very crowded later. The market has several artisan craft stalls selling beautiful hand made products and some food stalls. Well worth a visit
Show more...Laura Lees Morgan has a silver jewelry stall and she is amazballs. We have brought from her before. Its lovely that Laura will chat with you and discuss what you would like with no pressure to buy. She also has her hammers and tools close, so that she can amend sizes etc.
just look at her hands, you know that this lady works with her hands and puts spirit into her art.
Had lunch here today. Very busy. We chose three different types of food, pulled pork roll, steak sandwich and lamb and haloumi wraps. My steak was poor, lots of salad and coleslaw in a large roll but the steak was very tough and the cheese was an odd texture, £9.50. This compares very badly with the similar product at Roast to Go in Borough Market.
Other interesting outlets with huge variety of street food, cakes, doughnuts etc etc. We enjoyed our trip but I would choose differently next time.
I love Greenwich Market. Living a walking distance from there I tend to go a lot around. During the week there are less stalls, starting getting busy on Thursday and with more stalls in the weekend. Saturday and Sunday a group of stalls it is also put around the Cutty Sark. It a buzz in the weekends afternoons. A lot of different foods around. I love the antiques stalls in the beginning of the week as there Re a good selection with good prices. The stalls tend to change but at the website you might know what is happening. I go also a lot as I can find Brazilian churros and Brazilian snacks and as Brazilian those are my favourites.
Show more...Loved this market, smaller than expected however some delightful individual stalls with bespoke products at reasonable prices. All stallholders very friendly without being pushy.
Market in Middle of town bus stop around corner. Used bus however would recommend river taxi as pier 5 minutes walk from centre and right next to cutty sark if you want to see this as well.
Greenwich market is a fantastic friendly and diverse market. Live music, and bustling crowds really give a great London vibe. If you’re going for jewellery, Laura Lees Morgan’s stall is fantastic. She even made a custom ring request, she’s really lovely.
If you’re going for food, ‘Teriyaki Ya’ is my go to. 10/10!
Great market! Go! Do it! You won’t regret it!
Some musts:
Permanent jewelry with Laura Lees Morgan. Laura is a wonderful human who loves what she does. If you are looking for beautiful, high quality, affordable permanent jewelry - this is the spot! Laura is supremely kind and good at her craft. She did an amazing job on our bracelets as well as fixing another piece of permanent jewelry I already had (from another shop) free of charge. Please go see her!
Adam Doughty art - not only does Adam make beautiful cool art, he is incredibly kind and delightful to talk with! If I wasn’t traveling, I would have bought a lot more! His art is vibrant, sincere and enchanting. If you want something to hang in your house that everyone will compliment and pibe for, grab some Adam Doughty art!
Addis Taste Ethiopian vegan food - if you like delicious food, go to Addis! Bonus, it’s vegan!! I got the combo meal with a little bit of everything and I honestly could have eaten whole plates of every single side. So good! Highly recommend!
The place was an oasis on a hot summer day. It housed an assorted variety of world-foods and soothing drinks for a parched soul.
However the lack of seating arrangements for the street food was disarming.
Do not miss 'Da Fish Ting' which offered the most unusual black burger. Its a cod/crab burger lined with charcoaled bread. Almost intimidating to look at, the bread tastes like regular brad and is apparently laced with charred coconut in the dough to retain the black colour. Most delicious with no burnt after taste if one was worried.
A lovely Chinese paper design shop nearby is a must to visit as one waits for the order. Amazing paper lace work on display and sold at reasonable rates.

We visit this market often. Just because we love stroll up and down the hill in Greenwich park. It is prefect walk for a day and you can include Maritime museum and Catty Sark which is all just nearby. We always end up in the market at the middle of our walk. It is a small market. As we visited on different days, weekends tend to be not a good experience especially going there with two little kids. You can hardly walk, there are long ques for food and it is quite tight itself with not too many seats for eating sitting down. I wouldn't say that the food choice is big. There are many original and stylish stalls for gifts etc. It is always nice to go down there but I won't go there again on weekend. Overall a nice small place to stop by for a snack.
