My friend and I visited the marvellous Bath House yesterday for the full, three-hour experience. We genuinely felt transported to Russia in elegant, understated style.

We took a table in the restaurant and drank camomile tea sweetened with honey, before entering the comforting steam room. Though friendly and communal in atmosphere, it was also a peaceful and relaxing place to detox.

Emerging from the steam room, the next bold step was tipping a bucket of cold water over our heads, which was surprisingly do-able and very invigorating. After returning to our table for more tea, we had the first of two excellent treatments: the first was the authentic paranie, involving gentle brushing with birch and oak branches, a soothing process that smelled magnificently of the forest. The second treatment was a half hour massage, one of the best I’ve ever had.

We finished our afternoon with champagne, dumplings and beetroot salad, which was delicious and decadent!

I would recommend The Bath House wholeheartedly to anyone seeking an unusual spa day, which not only teaches you aspects of Russian culture but also provides the purifying and de-stressing benefits of more familiar treatments.

Banya looks very deceiving (in a good way) from the outside in that you don’t know what to expect from it as all you see from the outside is a set of doors with house sign. Once you go through black wooden doors, you immediately get mesmerised by invigorating smell of warm forest and wooden notes. Banya is beautifully decorated inside and has an authentic “Russian feel” to it, you can even find birch trees inside the restaurant making the experience even more warm, welcome and very home-like especially for those who might feel a little home sick.

As you go down to the Banya area, the fragrance intensifies. It instantly relaxes you and transports you away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life.

You are shown around the area and can either immerse into your Banya experience straight away or relax in the restaurant.

You can also choose to opt in for the Parenie ritual where you rest your head on a chilled venik, which emits the most wonderful fragrance and your are further massaged and relaxed with veniks made from birch and oak. The ritual is finished by having a cold bucket poured over you and a quick plunge into a pool of cold water.

After the Parenie ritual, you can further relax in the restaurant and enjoy an excellent selection of Russian food and drinks. The restaurant offers freshly prepared meals and home made drinks. The food is truly delicious and the home made drinks (such as Kvas and Kompot) will remind you of your mum’s cooking.

I was really impressed with my visit and It’s a very warm and welcoming environment throughout where you can also book several different spa treatments to take your experience to a whole new level.

I would highly recommend visiting
Banya for a warm welcome and even warmer temperatures to battle your winter blues!

I’ve tried spa places in London and around and now I can say that this Bath house is the best spa place I’ve ever been. Absolutely gorgeous, cosy and relaxing place with lovely staff, delicious home food and drinks. I can’t put treatments into words but they have the incredible treatment, which you will never find in any common spa called Parenie! It’s a special traditional ritual treatment, which will divide your life before and after and you will be an absolutely new person. We booked a premium package with 3 treatments included, other two were very lovely too, body scrub and massage on the softest massage bed I’ve ever was. I’m definitely recommend this place to visit if you want to forget about everything and just enjoy yourself on 10000%

If you are a person who thinks about the health, enjoys nice time and appreciates sophisticated design and art this place is for you. Each time I go to banya I find myself in a different world. Parenie and treatments are great as well as the food and good selection of teas.I’m particularly impressed with the design and mosaics that differentiate this place from numerous London spas. It’s a place for your mind and soul. Mens sana in corpore sano. Will definitely be back after the end if quarantine.

The banya is immaculately clean and luxurious. The service is impeccable and one emerges positively glowing after a couple of hours of sauna sessions and plunge pooling. The parenie was right on the edge of my tolerance threshold but after tipping a bucket of icy water over your head afterwards, you feel thoroughly invigorated. There's plenty of room to stretch out and relax and it's a great preparation for dinner or a night out. Full-blooded recommendation.

I can highly recommend this Banya- but be sure to leave lots of time for your trip as you will want to spend hours there.

I booked the Classic package which included the parenie ritual and a massage and both were incredible. I had never had the parenie treatment before and really enjoyed the scent of the Birch leaves and the flow of the hot air in the room and while it is a very gentle treatment it feels utterly restorative and transportive. The massage was one of the best I've ever had- with a seriously experienced therapist who did her best to break down every lump and bump in my extremely tense muscles in the short time she had I left wishing I'd tried more treatments.

This is a great place to go with a group of friends as everyone can go at their own speed, enjoying time going in and out of the sauna and cold water pool and having treatments, and then coming together at your table in the restaurant where you are treated to delicious food and drinks. We tried a few salads, the Pelmeni dumplings and the Bortsh and it was all extremely good. The whole experience feels very authentic & the staff are super helpful.

All in all a great experience and we will be going again and again!

Great for your body and for your mind. This is an elegant place with very friendly staff. Proper service and great ambiance. Steam room is spacious and stylish with great quality of steam , i.e. it is not very hot and not very dry - ideal for relaxation and to warm up from London weather. Try "Parenie" as a special treat with temperature contrast to put your body through extremes. Cold water bucket and ice pool are very special and it is impossible to explain feelings of them. Stack of hay and salt wall will get you drunk without alcohol. Massage is another speciality, so be ready for Russian type of pressure. Scrub and washing up will reinvigorate your taste to life. Food and drinks are very tasty and authentic. Elegant atmosphere and nice experience. Million reviews would not pass the experience. Come and try it. It is worth it.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for a classic package which included the famous parenie ritual. The place is spotlessly clean and well staffed. The main hot room was huge and could easily accommodate 20 people, outside it are ice cold bucket showers, regular showers and a small plunge pool for one person. The parenie itself was an intense experience but all over and done with in 10 minutes. However what the place really lacks is space. The only public area other than the main hot room is the cafe area which consists of densely packed tables and booths. There is nowhere to sit and chill in peace - you are either in the hot room, having a treatment or sat in the cafe. While I certainly left feeling scrubbed and clean I lacked the sense of relaxation and well being of having had a quiet space to relax and unwind.

On top what most likely has been already said about the whole Russian Banya:
During the whole expirence you get to smell all kind of pleasant aromas that any city dweller can only associate with country life. The smell of freshly cut wood in the sauna, herbal tea and honey, smell of hey and red salt, smell oak and birch branches with leaves(venik).
Me and my wife have now become regulars.♥️

Obsessed with the place. Finally an authentic Russian Banya in London. The treatments, the staff and the food are absolutely perfect. The guys (banshiki) who do parenie (the traditional Russian sauna ritual) are true professionals. Must try!
