Show more...The hotel is fantastic, the staff are attentive and always smiling, the service is fast, the whole hotel is kept clean, even have waiters asking you if you require a drink around the pool. The entertainment team are brilliant, food is as good as you’ll get in Turkey. Very happy with this hotel and staff, and will definitely return.
Show more...As far as Turkish AI goes the team at Aqua do a great job of maximising its potential - they really do work hard. The hotel is dated and the grounds aren't extensive, but for the most part they pack it all in with the space they have (and do it very well). We came with a kid and tbh the whole kids club was sadly lacking, we'd really hoped for (and expected) more. Was dated with limited facilities and in need of an update, no water features at all and located at the back end of the hotel by the carpark - a poor excuse really... Meanwhile the staff who worked there did the best they could and were great. The service at the restaurant was great too, in fact the service throughout the hotel is great, but the food itself wasn't inspiring, especially for me (as I'm vegetarian - I flagged this up to the chefs but got very little in return; basically they've no clue beyond what they do / are used to doing - couldn't even get some penne with pesto together, so I gave up with a sigh and picked what I could from the selection available - they shrugged, no clue, and to be fair what they were offering was well above the standard slop slapped out at many other places. Presentation great, taste less so - bland stuff that was unobjectionable but uninspiring... People-wise, we went off season, so a large proportion of the guests were old Germans, very nice people, but it made the place seem like an old folks home in the sun - despite this the animation team did their best, but it was all very repetitive, for example the kids disco every night played exactly the same songs / no variation at all. Meanwhile the service was great - don't get me wrong, it's just not a 5 Star place, no two ways about it, more like a 3.5 Star punching above its weight via service. If you've been to other middle of the road Turkish AI hotels you'll find Aqua a breath of fresh air - especially the service, the service is exceptional - great team - but if you're looking for a full 5 Star experience, with a decent kids club, look elsewhere. Great view meanwhile - esp. from the outdoor art deco-esque lifts, lovely touch...! (Can't see us going back, but that won't make any difference to Aqua, they've built up a loyal following of repeat guests who can't get enough of the place, and as I've said, compared to the majority of the local alternatives, it shines...)
Show more...I visited Hotel Aqua back in July, I had a good time but I don’t think it was good enough to return. The sunbed situation is a joke, if you’re not awake by 6am then don’t expect to get a bed by the pool. But don’t also bother reporting it to the lifeguard, we were told he was paid to reserve them for people!! And even if the bed was empty all day, you could remove the towels and he would be there telling you off even if the sign said they’d be removed after 2 hours! (They aren’t). They have their favourites and if you aren’t one then good luck. Food was decent, some days better than others. Lots of stews and casseroles for dinner, not good if you’re picky. But snack bar was 10/10 best lunch ever. Animation team were so funny and so entertaining. Room was a nice size and very clean, but the hotel itself was a bit outdated but that’s not an issue. Location was great too, near lots and lots of shops.
Show more...The hotel is absolutely amazing, food is amazing loads of choice, stakk r amazing, this is the 2nd visit to the hotel and I wasn't disappointed at all the entertainment team was great especially berker, Berlin and gia what a fantastic place to go on holiday
Show more...Checked ✔️ in the hotel 🏨 . What a gross 🤢 one 1️⃣. The room is cramped with no desk or table. Mattress is flimsy like 👍 those from Fantastic Furniture 🪑 level in Sydney. Bed head is made of some cheap metal spring. Bedside table is smaller than a milk 🥛 crate. No vanity in the bathroom 🚽 - only a sink. WiFi in the room is sketchy. Cups are made of thin plastic, so thin that you can flatten it even when holding it up ⬆️ when drinking, more flimsy than a takeaway coffee cup ☕️. Breakfast 🥞 is awful 😞. Overall it’s a grotesque experience from head to toe. Tour member reminded me to request a chance of room as some of them did get an okay 👍 one 1️⃣. I followed the advice and finally got a better one 1️⃣ in the second night of my stay. Hence my TripAdvisor rating has changed from 1/5 to 3/5. At least they have make some improvement. They have an awesome view on the balcony.
Show more...Another amazing time at the aqua but this time my mum came to see the place we’ve totally fallen in love with. This was meant to be her last holiday abroad and she told Oscar she loved it but wouldn’t come back due to the flight! Well by the time we got home she’d already asked us to bring her next year she loved it that much Everything from the rooms , food , cleanliness and all the staff was top notch as usual and we absolutely hate leaving and saying goodbye to the people that have also become our friends Yelda and mustafa at the shop , mustafa even stayed to see us off on our last night x All the staff at jacobs for all the times we spent in there over the week lol x Our special mate fatih who we’ve known from our first visit who it’s absolutely fab at his job and always has a big smile on his face x Bahaa at the outdoor bar who is always ready to serve us our morning lattes and is such a lovely lady We are also absolutely gutted that this is sinems last season x she really is the best barmaid ever and we think you should not let her leave because she’s just brilliant. We wish her all the best for her future in her new job Now for the entertainment team ! Mehmet (Ali) really does have the best team in the world! He is absolutely incredible at keeping everyone entertained with his team ! Our little tia Maria (Gaye) is fantastic with every body and is beautiful inside and out. Her little face when she saw we’d come back for a second time this year was priceless xx Berker and Berkin now these two are definitely powered by Duracell ! They are like little energizer bunnies bouncing about all over they never stop ! We got to celebrate their birthday with them this time too ! Oscar for always getting people up on the dance floor and forever making time to talk to us whenever we saw him around and the new girl gem entertaining the kids then a quick costume change to join in the rest of the night x We have never returned to a hotel as a family but will be booking our 4th time here this week we love it that much and now can’t see us going anywhere else x see you all next october guys x Anna , jay , Ronan , dj, nyla and momma tong xx
Show more...Myself & 3 friends stayed for 7 nights, fab hotel very friendly happy staff they just can’t do enough for you, we did plan to go out to eat to try the local restaurants! However the food in the hotel was so good this never happened, we did read 1 review that said breakfast didn’t cover for the English or Irish guest well we were a party of 3 English & 1 Irish guest we would have to disagree with that, omelette station cooked to order fried eggs Cooked to order toast jam meat cheese tomato bean porridge cereal pastries the only thing I can thing that this person was missing is “bacon” surely you can manage with out that!! We all agreed that we would defo go back to this hotel, It really is a great place to stay.
Show more...We had a two week stay at the hotel aqua, in August- me, my husband and our 5 year old daughter, we’ve had a lovely time and would definitely return, here are our highs and not so high points: High points - the staff are amazing, always smiling (all of them) and nothing is too much trouble. I bet they have a really good training/induction program here because everything was slick, well organised and everyone was so helpful, you can tell they have really high standards - The buffet restaurant was a really positive and enjoyable dining experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it was well organised and you were well looked after. The food was excellent and we enjoyed lots of traditional Turkish food we hadn’t had before. The desserts were outstanding and a work of art. Management was visible and engaged. We ate from the bbq most nights and that was really nice and they had a fun sense of humour. At breakfast we usually just helped ourself to coffee and most times a waiter would come over to do it for us which was really nice - The pool bar was also a lovely dining/ drinking experience and sometimes it was nice to get a snack from here rather than lunch at the buffet and the food here was also excellent and better than most pool bars on holiday as the food is made to order. Again management were visible and involved and it was well organised, we were well looked after. One day we went to sit at a table in the shade but were too late and someone else got there first but then the waiting staff just moved the shade/tables around within seconds without us asking- sounds like a minor thing but they are so good at anticipating what you want (in all areas) - The bar In reception was lovely and relaxing and the service was excellent. The board games were a great touch. We hardly ever needed to approach the bar, we were always intercepted on the way by someone asking us what we wanted. I saw management here too and the team operated seamlessly - The cakes In reception were amazing and we had ice cream daily, the lady at the waffle stand was really lovey - We loved the Turkish lady who did the traditional Turkish pancakes and loved watching her work, really nice touch and very tasty - The spa here is amazing and although it’s a bit more expensive than in town, it’s worth the extra. I had a Turkish bath in town when we first arrived and then I got a package at the hotel at the end of the holiday and I would 100% recommend the hotel spa and the indoor pool was relaxing and cooler than outside. - I used the hotel jewellery shop to have my rings rhodium dipped and they were fast and did a good job, a little bit more expensive than in town but I felt like I had more piece of mind with the hotel jeweller and the jewellery they were selling looked better than in town - The staff in the mini club were brilliant and worked hard to engage all the kids, my daughter loved the mini disco and kept asking to go back to the club. I liked the way the kids team take the kids to the football pitch for games after the mini disco. We loved the magician, the balloon and bubble show and the pool inflatable - my daughter loved the kids team - The entertainment staff round the pool were also brilliant, they were doing loads and you never felt pressured to join in - The mini bar was topped up every morning, he was really nice and friendly and gave us anything we wanted - The hotel is spotlessly clean - The location of the hotel is excellent, right on the beach and in town - We took the boat taxi into Marmaris and the marina there is beautiful and the bizarre is fun Not so good - sometimes the noise from the bar is just too loud when you’re trying to sleep, especially with small kids, the dj on Sunday night was the loudest and it goes on until 11:45, it feels like you’re trying to sleep with cream fields next door. I write this on our last night and it was karaoke night and it was 11:40, our transfer arrived at 1am and all I could hear is really bad singing - no early nights - The mini club - the building and park need investment badly- the park is poor and just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the facilities also there was never any face painting despite this being on the timetable several times a week - Housekeeping wasn’t quick, the housekeeping was very thorough but they took ages to get round. Sometimes they weren’t reaching our room until 3:30/4pm which is the time we are most likely to be returning to the room to get out of the sun. We put a do not disturb sign up when I was trying to get my daughter to sleep in the afternoon and our room wasn’t cleaned for the last two days of the holiday and we just asked for clean towels. Every morning we could see the trolley about 6 rooms away but it just took ages to get to our room. Also the location of the furniture in our room made no sense to us when we arrived, ie a double bed and a single bed pushed together with bedside tables on the other side of the room so we ended up moving it all - The room was a bit small and probably not really designed for 3 people - It was probably because it was the 6 weeks holiday and busier than normal but you had to be up early to get a sun lounger and we like being at the back away from the pool, we were having to get up at 7:45/8 to get 2 loungers where the grassy bit is (not near the front) one day we slept in and didn’t get there until 8:45 there were 4 sun loungers left in the entire pool area. There were loads on the beach though. - the hotel uses an insane amount of plastic and needs to be more environmentally aware, the recycling bins were small and never full. It might be better to give every room a jug and install water coolers around the hotel. All in all, none of the things on the not so good list would stop us coming back, we’ve had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the hotel. The staff are especially amazing and I want to say thankyou to them all for making the holiday an amazing experience 😊
Show more...We have just returned from this hotel having spent 10 lovely days there. From the moment we arrived we found that the staff cannot do enough for you, check in was very swift 2 mins maximum. Our luggage was then taken to our room for us with the person taking it explaining how everything in the room worked, the rooms are not large but they are adequate and as my wife uses a wheelchair or walker that can be a issue. The bed is large as it is two singles pushed together, we found them comfortable (but that can be subjective as we all like different bed types). the room was provided with tea making facilities and a small fridge which is restocked daily, there is enough hanging space for the average couple, only slight criticism of the room was the shower room as it is quite small and for someone with mobility issues difficult to access the toilet as the door cuts across the room leaving a small gap to get through. It seemed to us that the beds were changed at least every other day and the towels daily. The hotel itself is kept spotlessly clean, you will always see somebody polishing, wiping down or sweeping (even leaves from the tree are swept as soon as they fall). The food is very good with a fair amount of choice. For breakfast there are various cereals (including Porridge), plus hot food for a sort of english breakfast, omelettes cooked to your specification and eggs of all types, I must comment on the bread which is lovely you just cut the slices that you want it is soft and tasty, there is also a toaster to use. There are also cooked meats, cheeses and fruit plus yoghurts and lastly lots of cakes, croissants and pastries of various types. No comment on lunch in the Restaurant as we ate lunch at the snack bar, choices of Burgers, omelettes Salads etc all nicely presented, not forgetting the Waffle bar and the ice-cream parlour. For the evening meal there is the normal Turkish fair of Casseroles and other meat with a sauce, vegetables plus Pasta, Chinese and a Carvery every night such as Beef, Chicken, Turkey or Duck. There is also a BBQ every night. The waiters are on hand to bring drinks etc but the meals are all self service. The swimming pool is a nice area to laze about and the waiters will come round and ask if you want drinks, plenty of beds and umbrellas (No need to get up a 5am to put your towel on a bed). The beach is literally a 20 second walk from the hotel grounds, once again plenty of beds and an umbrella to every two beds. Life guards at the pool and on the beach are all friendly and helpful, there are two paved areas on the beach for those that have physical Disabilities which was ideal for us as my wife uses a wheelchair. Entertainment was of a mixed variety "some you like some you don't" too many dancers for my taste but thats just me others would have liked them. however the entertainment team work very hard both during the day and in the evening, there are lots of activities and they will ask if you wish to join in but will not push it if you so no. I cannot say this enough though, the staff are what make this a fabulous holiday, nothing is to much trouble and they will go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your holiday.
