Booked for myself & a female friend a weeks holiday last September. On arrival found check in relatively OK was told the cost of air conditioning & offered to pay straight away by card ..was told to pay it later Apartment first impressions lovely spacious..one slight hiccup a double bed in the bedroom!! Went to reception & asked for the bed changing to singles was told someone was coming..when he came he wanted to set sofa bed up. Explained we could do that .but we had booked 2 bed apartment so we had a living room! Was told to speak to the manager the next day He also left the remote for the air conditioning!!! Not that we got any benefit from it Next morning we ordered 2 toasties & 2 cokes at the pool bar ..the waiter asked for £70 !!! We went to the beach opposite the hotel & the young lady from reception who was speaking to the manager about alternative accommodation came to the beach to speak to us .I told her about the experience at pool side & how I believed it to be wrong!! Within minutes of her going back to the hotel the waiter arrived at the beach ...shouting at me .he had said £17 not £70 .pointing his finger at me .I immediately got up & went to reception where he followed me to denying he said £70 & had said £17..I didn't understand the language apparently!!! He was told to apologise which he did reluctantly..after this incident we kept away from the hotel only sleeping there Our room beds were never changed.were offered an alternative room with no view So we stayed as we were ..our air conditioning didn't work which we put down to not paying for it . The cleaner was daily but left the rubbish bag behind in the kitchen . When retuning our key.we were told we owed for the air conditioning!! Which I queried as it didn't work I was accused of just not wanting to pay for it & was glad I was leaving..this was said by the manager Nice location .2 bedroom apartment lovely..cleanliness not great & management & bar staff definitely not great

Love this hotel, so relaxing, the staff are fantastic from the manager right down to the cleaning staff, rooms are comfortable and well looked after, breakfast is great, not far from the main Gumbet centre, but far enough away from the noise

Can't really fault the place for the friendliness of the staff and its location, but it's a little tired and food and drink more pricey than local restaurants. Overall enjoyed our stay but the biggest gripe was the very limited cooking facilities after having booked self - catering.I know it wouldn't probably bother most people but as we stayed for 10 nights a couple of nights we decided to stay in but could't really knock anything up in fact when we had the single ring on and the small grill at the same time the power kept tripping .Other than that we enjoyed our stay but unlikely to return. Not just due to the hotel but the resort I visited over 15 taers ago has ballooned and is really only set up for the party crowd.

Just got back from the Tropicana and I still don’t know what I think, I will try to explain. Arrived out side and decided straight away that we didn’t like the area, probably the most run down area of the strip, last but one hotel at the end of the strip. BUT much quieter than everywhere else and only a few mins walk to the hustle and bustle. Beach across the road, more like a builder’s yard its not sand, BUT quiet and only a few mins walk to more popular area of the beach. Our apartment was upper level, with no lifts it can be a struggle with bags BUT you only have to ask for help and it will be given. SO much greenery we felt like we were in the tree tops and noticed how dark it was on the lower levels, it needs some pruning back, although I think the cost would be high. Our apartment was massive and at the same time strange. Advertised as self-catering with ONE plug in ring and no microwave, I am not sure how that works unless you have soup or stew. A kitchen table with 4 chairs, cutlery for two, three sets of cups, three chairs on the balcony and two sets of bed linen, bottom sheet and blanket no top sheet until I asked for one a few days in . Nice TV BUT as mainly Brits here, why only one Brit tv channel. Very clean, towels changed daily although they were greying, thread bare and sometimes frayed. I mentioned it to the rep and the last few days we had softy white fluffy towels. Again, it shows that you only have to ask. Breakfast was great, good English and just about everything you would want. I couldn’t understand when ordered omelette only it came with chips (cost saving there). Pool was large BUT if you dint get your towel out before 8 am tough the beds in the sun were gone. I noticed that hotel next door had hardly anyone by the pool, I went and asked them if we could use it and would spend money at heir bar. No problem was the answer, so every day we sat around their pool ALWAYS beds to spare, no need to put towels out. Not keen on the lunch or main meal, so we walked short distance up beach to amazing places EVERY member of staff was polite and helpful, I felt there far too many workers around the pool side and they were often sat about until the main boss turned up. So would I stay again, I don’t know you decide

Returning to The Tropicana after 14 years away, this was my first holiday since 2019. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was inviting and the views across the bay just stunning. This hotel runs like a well oiled machine. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Many guests told me that they return year after year and it's easy to see why. Thanks to Yunis, Romeo, Jindar, Fartie, Nehat, Arrib and all the staff with a special thank you to Diyar for making me feel at home.

From the near beginning of our stay here it was clear to us that this was a place for ‘regulars’ to holiday and any new faces were met with mostly hostility and impatience. We are a young family and were hoping to spend fun filled days by the pool. However one day spent was enough as it was too stressful to deal with the other guests glaring at our son and muttering things like ‘he should be swimming by now’. The sense of entitlement of other guests was unbelievable. We were given a first floor apartment which meant that we had to Leave our buggy downstairs every day, which isn’t ideal with a 1 and 3 year old. There was no offer to change rooms despite it not being high season. In terms of the area, be prepared to be constantly hassled by vendors of cheap tat. And if you don’t want to buy anything they soon get aggressive and pushy. They always want cash which is fine except that the ATM charges a fortune to take any amount out. In fact, the first person we met upon getting off the coach was a homeless lady living out of a trolley. Harmless, but not exactly the vibe for a relaxing holiday. Also, there are stray cats and dogs everywhere which the locals and hotels seem to feed and keep around. The beach is just opposite, which is lovely. Once you’ve managed to find your way to a sunbed amongst the stray animals, be prepared to have your feet massacred by the rocks and broken glass. Yup, I stepped on a broken shard of beer bottle and had to get stitches in my foot. Fun. Whilst I’m on the subject, make sure you get decent travel insurance, as the local clinic likes to charge you just under £500 as per their policy which you then have to claim back (if you can!). I love how this hotel is described as ‘family friendly’. There’s no sign of any high chairs, no access for buggies, the kids pool is tiny and is blocked by sun beds, and the staff couldn’t care less about any of it. In conclusion, this is probably a great place if you’re old and miserable. Or, just go to Greece 😝

We were initially given a very small room - unable to open the wardrobe door as cabinet in the way, unable to leave the patio door open and walk round the bed. Nowhere to put you cases. We were moved no issue to a garden room which was very large with a sofa and table no comparison. Only issue there was no balcony just a table and chairs outside in a walkway. Not sure why we we’re even given the other room initially. We didn’t plan on cooking but you would struggle to cook anything we only had two of everything and that included two very small glasses. Lovely pool although the same depth all over and quite deep so not suitable for small children or those who like to be able to firmly have their feet on the floor. We didn’t struggle to get a sun bed although you might in the summer. Slightly annoying that people reserved beds,we were out early for a trip and beds had towels on them at 7.45 am. The beach is not that great but if you get a taxi to Bitez you’ll find a lovely beach. The food is a very good standard ! There are also lots of bars and restaurants nearby. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and deserve 5 ⭐️.

One bed apartment on the ground floor was a perfect space for 3, good size twin room with well positioned sockets and mirror. Good size bathroom with big shower cubicle and very powerful shower. Kitchen not geared up for self catering as very limited crockery and cutlery. Equipment included a 2 ring plug in hob, a griddle/toasted sandwich maker, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment. We generally go self catering to get a fridge and kettle so suited our requirements. WIFI could be accessed from the apartment terrace, grounds and most of beach area which I thought was very good coverage. Pool area and pool is kept very clean. Unfortunately people put towels out to reserve beds too early for me and frequently reserved sunbeds not used. Beach area is small and sand is gravel however the sea was pleasant. Restaurant and bar staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food is okay. Reception all very efficient and helpful and although busy managed to get a late checkout- 5.00pm. All reception speak excellent English and can help with most things. The girl who serviced our room (110) daily was fantastic and went the extra mile when someone in our party got a stomach upset. Language barrier was overcome with the help of Google translate and sign language. If going to Gumbet do NOT use tap water to make coffee. If you get an upset stomach ask for REFLOR capsules from the pharmacy- cost approx. £9 for 20 capsules.
