I used to come here, when I was a child, with my parents and sister. I remember my dad would park the car somewhere and we would go and watch the athletics. If it was a Sunday, we would go there and ride the horses and visit the zoo. I arrived at the station and to climb three or four flights of steps to the top. The park was on my right. As it was a hot and sunny day, I took my time to walk round. The dinosaurs and the athletics track were still there, along with the leisure centre. But, the zoo seemed to have gone. There was a college with some goats outside it, where the horses used to be. They now had put in a play area for the children. As it's very big and spacious, I had no problems about getting too close to anybody. I got very tired, so I didn't get to see all of it. I will go back again and I recommend this park to everyone.
Show more...Visiting Crystal Palace Park wasn't on my original to-do list while in London. My brother and his GF were in London for a couple days at the same time I was and he wanted to come here to see the dinosaur statues since he's a big dinosaur person. We first saw these dinosaur statues on an old dinosaur VHS tape as kids, so it was cool to actually see them in person. It's pretty cool knowing these sculptures were created in 1854, about 20 years after the first dinosaurs were officially classified. By modern standards, they look nothing like how dinosaurs actually looked like, but knowing it was based off knowledge in the mid 1800s, it's cool to see how people interpreted dinosaurs when they were first discovered. The park itself definitely could use some cleanup and refurbishment, but it was cool to get away from the touristy part of London and see something I had seen as a child on video.

There are various statues etc dotted about to look at and food stands for refreshments. There is also a maze although we didn't try this out and a boating lake. I mainly went to see the dinosaurs, some of which in late spring are hidden by the foliage, but it is wonderful to see these quirky bits of history peeking out at you. There are various information panels showing you what creature they are supposed to be and how modern ideas have changed since the Victorians. When we visited in May, there were various baby waterfowl swimming around the dinosaurs which was wonderful.

We drove 1.5 hours as my 3 year old is nuts about dinos but he was very disappointed as there were only a few really old statues hidden in the trees..
I’d say the park is nice, it’s large with lots of nice spaces around with a good children’s play area. Good for locals.
But completely not! a good dinosaur experience for little dino enthusiasts… this shouldn’t even appear in search results for dino experience…
This park requires at least four hours for you to see everything .Children's farm, Maze, Boating lake,Stone animals ,Children's play area,Sports centre, Restaurant and much more .Great for adults as well as the kids .Highly recommended.

Today the park is popular with families, walkers and runners and other groups. The park has some good dinosaur models which will amuse young and old alike. The maze is also a favourite. It is easy walk although parts are undulating.

It was a long journey for us from Hornchurch - our grandson also loves trains - and I was disappointed with the dinosaurs. I thought that you would be able to go right up to them, not have to see them from a distance. They did look a bit shabby. The rest of the park is not bad: a nice big play area with a sand pit, nice trees and flowers. The benches near the station was a nice touch. It is quite hilly though, so not for people with mobility problems. We would not rush back here.

I got lost.. and that's the best part of it all!
Scary Dragons! Freaky Deep Ponds! Lovely staff..
I was pulled from the swamps of the Crystal Palace ponds after taking a wrong step.. Wandering through the expansive parks, brutalist architecture, ancient trees, and a great park.. but back to the pond.
More fool me for trying to go on a boat.. didn't know you had to pay.. I guess I paid in soaking.. heh..
10/10 PD
This quite a large park with advanced sporting facilities, stadium, interesting sculptures of dinosaurs and a big playground. There is enough green space for picnics, walking, water space with ducks and catamaran renting. There is also a cafe (restricted capacity during COVID) and a toilet.
What I did not like is that on a sunny good weather day it is extremely overcrowded, It was very hard to find a parking space. Playground was just occupied by crowds of kids, we did not allow ours to go and play there. The toilet was disgusting, flush was not working, it was not cleaned up, a lot of people inside. And there is only one to serve the whole park. The tourist attraction being dinosaur sculptures - well not very impressed, they are quite old and not many, more artistic interpretation, rather than real replicas.
But otherwise very multi-functional park with everything you need. Enjoyed catamaran (pedalo boat) swimming in the lake, a lot of fun!

Absolutely stinky, the pond water was writhing with seggsual diseases that looked ready to go airborne. The local teenagers clearly have been frolicking and performing coitus on top of the dinosaurs. Disgusting
