Intimate family-run live music pub located off the beaten track in Borough - serving craft beers, real ales and homemade Indian fusion food
Show more...I have had the most outstanding experience spending just a few hours in The Gladstone Arms.
Initially, walking upto the venue. I expected a South London pub, but this only added to the amazement. Once I entered I was greeted immediately with courtesy and friendliness, by Luke the Bar Manager. Which for me is very important to ensure you feel at home in a venue, never visited before. He is an asset to the company. Leading me on to the fact that it is a family run business and that's how you feel, as soon as you walk in the door, like family.
Just to top it off, even the owner Gaurav, makes a point to say hello to each and everyone that walks through the door.
This place has nailed it.
If you want a elegant environment and genuine night out in London. Don't bother with Wardour Street or Tottenham Court Road. This is the place to come.
I will add that the premises can cater for wheelchairs and the elderly with the ground floor dining area. And the food is of Michelin quality.
If you don't try this out, your missing out, Simple!!!!
I came here a few years ago and the Indo-Japanese fried chicken dish has always lingered in my memory. I think if you remember food for years it must be pretty special.
I was finally in the area again tonight and went back for the chicken. The staff were super friendly too, the building and decor were charming, music was good, prices weren't bad for the location, and we took part in a pub quiz and somehow came second and won a free round. Ticked all the boxes and more.

A couple of friends recommended this pub and we were very pleased we visited. Liked the intimacy of the bar. Some great beers and even loved the trendy jug glasses the beer was served in. The highlight is the food which was so good, along with the atmosphere, that instead of leaving we stayed for dinner as well. Everyone enjoyed what they had and I was so impressed with the Chicken Tikka Masala Pie I had it for both sittings. I would have had it for breakfast too had they let us stay :-)
Well worth a visit!
Visited with a dear friend with the sole purpose of trying their chicken tikka masala pie and it did not disappoint. My two favourite things combined, pastry and curry, served with tasty chips and salad. Visited on a quiet afternoon after New Year. Manager/Owner (not sure who) was very welcoming and had a cracking playlist on. Hope to return for one of their music events evenings and of course, the pie!
Show more...The best of both worlds a cosy, traditional British pub, with 12 draught beers, and excellent Indian food. The man at the bar was friendly, helpful and cheerful. We had a great time in a warm, friendly atmosphere. We haven't tried their music nights as we just dropped in for lunch, but they seem good. Strongly recommend! 🥰
Show more...…PLUS CURRY!!! I came here with some friends on 30th December and we stayed all night. The drink selection is very good, the food is utterly delicious (order as wide a range as you can so you can try as much as possible), the atmosphere was very friendly - the smoking area in particular is a great place to chat to new people -, they have darts (!!!) and they let us out our own music on upstairs. Absolutely great pub!
Show more...This was the second time we’d visited The Gladstone, the first was just for a quick pint but we were impressed enough to make a date to come back, I’m glad we did. The pub has got a friendly vibe, it’s very well run & staffed, a great selection of beers & the food is superb. This won’t be the last time we visit. Interested in their Anglo Indian Sunday roasts
Show more...What a great find. A small quirky pub just off Borough Road. I think it only seats about 20. When there for a birthday treat from my son, and it was well worth the trip. Serving Anglo/Indian food I had a terrific Chicken Kara-age and chips with a pint of Guinness and a free shot (it was St Patrick's Day). They also do Curry Pies and Lamb Chops. Great atmosphere and very attentive service. Well worth the trip!
Show more...Amazing find and delicious Indian street food!
The staff were super friendly and helpful looking for a table for us when it was busy.
Great choice of ales on tap too. The pub had a really nice vibe about it and I would
definitely go back!

Don’t rely on the restaurant to honour your booking. We booked our table well in advance for our trip to London and received an automated email reply a few days before our arrival to say the Gladstone Arms had cancelled our reservation. No explanation as to why and our time slot is now showing as booked on their website! We are now left trying to find a Saturday evening booking elsewhere with most places fully booked. Thanks Gladstone!
