What a gorgeous place this must have been in its glory! But sadly, it is now just a crumbling ruin. This building is now for sale, in hopes that it will be converted into a hotel since there are none in this area of Belfast.

Across the street from the gaol (jail) . Basement of the jail has a tunnel that goes underneath the street to the courthouse.

Courthouse is no longer used , the same for the jail. Worth seeing at any time

We stopped by to take a photo and hear a story about the prison across the road. The Old Courthouse is a magnificent building that has fallen into disrepair. The person who bought it has let it go to seed, but it is still a wonderful architectural sight.

What a shame that such a beautiful building has been allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair, no matter the history or image the building has in local history.

Hopefully hotel plans now shall allow this building to return to former glory or indeed exceed that in it's new role.

This building I see every day when driving past. I remember actually going into it in the 90's when it had been sold and I had an impromptu tour which brought me through the tunnel from the jail and into the dock. It is here that the famous phrase "take him down" was coined. It's supposedly going to be s luxury hotel but Jurys out still!!!!

Really don’t know why a review should be given to a place that has been left to rot. This building is full of history and yet because of Northern Ireland history rewrites this building was not maintained and left for vandals to rage havoc. The goal across the road is a great place to visit but don’t believe all what is said by the guides. A bit of poetic license is in play.

The courthouse is now shut and becoming more and more run down. Still beautiful enough just to have a look in passing. Would make a great hotel so hope it gets saved.

Seriously, I have passed this place so many times when I'm in and out of the city centre and it is enormous. It must be the biggest courthouse in Northern Ireland, I have never seen another courthouse as big as this. Tourists would love a picture of this historic building.

This is a truly beautiful building that is falling down. It's worth a look from the Crumlin Road, but hope it gets restored and opened to the public or put to good use.
