Beyond the accommodation experience at Akra Fethiye Tui Blue Sensatori, we work passionately to create positive emotions in every person we touch and to increase them by sharing them. We believe in the life-giving, unifying power of the sincere Mediterranean culture that will give you unforgettable emotions and make you feel more alive.
Show more...This is a long read but hopefully a helpful one. We visited in June this year for the first time. First time in Turkey, and first time to a Sensatori. This will not be the last. So much so that we’ve booked again already for next year. The journey from the airport is 40mins (approx) on the included coach. We were the second stop. The first being The Residence next door. Coach was air conditioned, and the driver had a small shop onboard selling drinks. We arrived at the hotel at 01:30hrs and as soon as we got off the coach the staff were there to greet us and organize our cases. As we walked through the door we were given a cool refreshing towel and a glass of champagne with an incredibly warm welcome from all the team. Once checked in our cases were taken away and brought up to us as we settled into the room. ROOM: The room we were allocated was 1320 in the adult only section which was overlooking the adult only pool and you could see the sea through the trees. Sold as a “Limited sea view” but it was absolutely perfect. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well decorated. AirCon was excellent. There was plenty of storage and a safe also, as well as some included toiletries, iron and ironing board, and a laundry service (although we didn’t use this during our stay). The bed was so comfortable too. Towelling robes and slippers included. The room was the nicest room we’ve ever stayed in. Couldn’t fault a thing. Rooms are cleaned and stocked up daily. POOL: As we were in adults only section this is where we spent our pool days. However we did wander around and the family area was just as nice. The pool was warm and the staff were completing water safety and temperature checks regularly. There are many sun beds and lounging areas around the pool however, people did get up at 6:00am to reserve beds. This wasn’t an issue for us as we sat at the bar at the side of the pool but if you are wanting to get a sun bed then it’s worth noting that there was no enforcing of the “no towels before 09:00” rule. Side note: there are plenty of sun beds on the beach if you can’t get one at the pool. BARS: All bars serve branded spirits and cocktails. Cocktails can be made to order providing they have the ingredients. Even though at times there were people queuing, you never queued for long. One small thing for us is that we are pink gin drinkers and on a couple of occasions there was no pink gin anywhere. That said, the staff did work to try and accommodate us and made us other drinks that were similar in taste. Our favourite cocktails were the strawberry mojito, strawberry daiquiri, mango daiquiri, coconut daiquiri, and the bolero. The adult only Neoman Bar was perfect for a sunset cocktail or two with amazing views and ambience. FOOD: We weren’t holding out much hope for the buffet as in other AI places it gets a bit “samey” but this place is outstanding; from whole salt baked salmon, half sides of beef, fresh grilled meats, plentiful salads and sides we never got bored of finding something to eat. There were vegetarian and vegan options too, as well as gluten free. Each night is themed and the staff work so hard at making sure you’re catered for and the food remains regularly topped up and fresh. For fussy eaters, there is still lots to choose from. The breakfast was also delicious. For those who like a pork sausage and bacon, this was available in its own pork section (remember you’re in a Muslim country) but the eggs were probably my favourite. Smoked salmon, poached eggs and avocado was top tier. There’s also a panini toasting machine if you just fancy a grilled cheese, along with all other expected breakfast items. We went to two of the a la carte restaurants, TAO Asian which was just ‘nice’. We were probably the most disappointed with this one although we appreciate that this is personal taste as others loved it. Basillico Italian was stunning. We actually ate lunch there a few times too as you don’t need a reservation for lunch and the food menu is 80% the same as the evening menu so well worth it. We also tried Amber but this was only ever “after hours” at night once we had drank all night and to be honest, if you’re drunk and want a snack then yeah, it’s ok. But nothing to shout about. The thing about Amber is that this is the room service menus too which you have to pay for, yet free if you go yourself. We also ate at Sunset Steak House (Sunset Bar?) and this was utterly beautiful. This is a paid for restaurant and it’s worth every penny. The mushroom soup was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Food is available 24/7. There are food stalls around the resort throughout the day too including jacket potatoes, doner kebabs, and Pide. STAFF: There are no words to describe the staff here and how hard they work. The service is exceptional from the second you walk in to the minute you leave when they wave you off. We have to give special mentions to: Buffet waiter - Sinan Boardwalk/Sunset Bar - Mesut Lounge Bar - Hassan Garden Party - Murat Eryilmaz Adult bar - Osman Manager - Resul Karapinar They were incredible and really looked after us throughout our stay. The service was so incredible that we just kept tipping them and it was worth every penny. They remembered our names, what drinks we liked, our glasses were never empty, they really went above and beyond. They really did make our holiday. TIPPING: Tipping is not required but it is commonplace throughout Turkey. We found that TL 100 was considered a very good tip (exchange rates at the time meant that it worked out at around £3.80 so check rates for your stay as it may be worth more or less). ENTERTAINMENT: Mixed reviews here. The Boardwalk is where the family shows take place as well as the guest artists. We found that the family shows were at best “ok” but as adults this is mostly because they are tailored towards families. The guest entertainment was much better. Special mentions to the guest acrobatic show and Tom Jones who were brilliant. The silent disco was also huge fun. There is live music in the piano bar nightly and this is excellent. There is a variety of music here and Janet was brilliant. She even sang one of my favourite songs on request! There were two garden parties while we were there and these were a lot of fun. Entertainment was a DJ with a trumpet and sax player and a drummer. REPS: The TUI reps are onsite every day and we found them all to be really friendly and helpful. Especially as the app was glitchy and nobody was able to book the a la carte restaurants on it. We also used them to book an excursion (adult boat trip). Although it was a lovely day, there are far better deals to be had on much better (prettier?) boats / catamarans in Fethiye. MISC: There are fridges filled with cold bottled water all over so you never have to go thirsty. Cabana: We booked this during our stay and it was beautiful. We were looked after by Cesar who was on hand all day for anything we may have needed (or didn’t know we wanted). Well worth the €80 and would recommend. Towel stations: There are fresh towels available almost everywhere. Shops on resort are expensive and you can find better deals over the road or even better if you travel into Fethiye. Salon / Spa: We didn’t use this but we spoke to people who did and said that the men’s barber was excellent. Grounds: Beautiful and immaculate. The grounds team were regularly tending to the grounds to maintain them. The smell of the fresh flowers and climbers was beautiful. Beach: Beach is very pretty. Raked and cleaned daily. There are some rocks so water shoes may be advised. We really enjoyed swimming in the sea. Mosquitoes: Take repellant or buy it as soon as you arrive. It is cheaper to buy at home and take with you if possible, as the mosquitoes are savage and love pasty white British legs. Especially at the garden parties in the evenings. This was truly a 5* experience and we would not hesitate to recommend. We cannot wait to come back next year. Thank you for an amazing holiday!
Show more...Heaven on earth Best of all SENSATORI resort Incredible drinks and amazing staff Rooms are huge and food is Michelin star Nothing is impossible or you will never here No for anything you ask, I would love to go again but price has gone double now I went year they opened, Off course you pay for luxury but you can’t charge Mauritius price for Turkey, If it’s anything more then £1100 it’s definitely more choice of resort out there, I went in 2018
Show more...Fantastic family holiday with the most exceptional food - the best I’ve ever experienced in an all inclusive. Lovely pool areas, the mixed pool being very peaceful. Heated baby splash pool which was great. Fitness timetable was brilliant and classes were great. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere we went. The downside is the long corridors - it makes the rooms very, very noisy, especially in the family area when people are returning to their rooms at night. We did not sleep well, but staff did their best to move us to a somewhat quieter area. However, with the food and activities being so good we would still return!
Show more...We loved everything about our stay. The staff were amazing, we went to the bar in the lobby most evenings and they knew our order and prepared without even having to ask. Really attentive and friendly. Even bringing snacks for our son. The restaurants were all fantastic, we tried all of the a la cartes and had no problem booking (we did it as soon as we arrived, before even going to room). Our favourite was the Chinese. Lunch time the beach grill and Italian. Paying for the steak restaurant was worth every penny. Both service and food were excellent. Fantastic stay and we will hope to come again!!
Show more...This is one of the best all inclusive hotels we have stayed at. Very much aimed at the UK market. Staff very friendly, food excellent. Rooms well appointed. Very clean. Not the best beach but ok. One small complaint the sun beds were poor, very basic - such a shame.
Show more...We've been a few times & we just love everything about this hotel. The staff are simply fantastic, we stayed by the Yasmine bar all day and were served by Koray and Osman, absolutely the best bar tenders so friendly & professional, really looked after us both. The food is absolutely delicious and so well presented the chefs deserve credit. We can't wait for next year it's like going home.
Show more...We have stayed at this hotel many times. Like others have said, we particularly liked the original Sensatori ethos/atmosphere of around 6/7 years ago, which was a cool, chilled spa vibe. However the 'Sensatori' look seems to have all but disappeared and the hotel seems more ordinary and no longer stands out above others as what made it different. We also agree with other reviewers the decoration in rooms and bars etc needs a refresh. The bedrooms seem to have the same bedding and fittings they had 6 years ago. Same can be said of the cold lighting and colour scheme in the main bar. The upbeat live music in the lobby bar however is good for holidays, rather than sad ballads! The resident musicians and cast were good - it is nice to see them interact with guests too. Many nights we failed to get booked into any inclusive restaurants - do The Residence guests get table bookings in both hotels, if so capacity needs to be increased? There were unfortunately 2 major negatives for us. Many guests were feeding the stray cats - dropping food from their plates in the restaurants onto the ground (or on plates!) which simply attracted the cats into these areas more. They were constantly around all the food areas and the staff don't appear to discourage this. We also heard people were taking cats to their bedrooms! This is extremely off putting. The cats appear to already be well looked after by the hotel. The second negative was the excessively loud noise late into the night from the Fabay hotel next door. This also needs addressed.
Show more...Just the easiest place in the world to hang out for frazzled professionals. Endless space, charming staff, beautiful sea swimming, gorgeous pools. Love the coffee shop and lunches at the Sunset Bistro next to the sea gazing at boats sail by the islands across the glittering water. Book a cabana for a special treat. Turkish staff are just charming, it’s so improved for being handed back to the Turks to run - but Tui still sell it. For the discerning, it’s pretty flawless
Show more...It was coming to the end of the season, so the hotel wasn't at capacity. We spent most of our time around the adult pool which was really quiet - perfect! The staff were always attentive and keen to ensure the stay was enjoyable. The food was excellent and the choice of restaurants ensured we didn't eat an evening meal in the same place twice - the only downside was the all inclusive restaurants were fully booked four days in advance even though we tried to book them within minutes of our arrival! The restaurants we paid for were enjoyable, but we would have spaced them out more if the others were available earlier! We ventured into Fethiye via the local bus which was by far the cheapest option - lovely place and market to spend the day. We didn't bother too much with the entertainment, but it sounded decent enough from where we were sitting having a quiet beer or two. The adult pool was refreshing to say the least, but the heated one next door made up for it. There were plenty of loungers available throughout our stay....and the sun shone at around 26c-28c for most of the week. All in all a good hotel, location and an enjoyable, relaxing experience!
