Definitely gone down hill since last time we were here. Smaller "garden" menu if you want to sit outside whilst the little ones play on the park
Peas were stone cols and nobody around to tell, menu advertises bread and butter with mealwell we got the butter!!!!
Prices are ridiculous for the portions, the offer of 2 for 1 made it cheaper but still a lot for 2 meals.
Not be back anytime soon

We booked to have Xmas dinner at 2pm on Christmas day. Fortunately a couple of our party arrived early so we were able to sit inside. The less fortunate ones that turned up had to queue outside.
So 2pm came and went. We were told which table we would be seated at so, at 3pm we decided to take ourselves to the uncleared table. A couple of locals cleared the table for us.
At 3.30 still no service. We weren't the only ones, there were plenty of people in the same boat. By this time we asked the manager for a refund which he did via bank transfer.
Christmas day ruined. Thanks guys

Service was top tier from Cameron! Cannot fault the staff and the service, always on hand when you need them for anything . Sunday dinner was not great, chicken dinner really dry and soaked in gravy. Tables were super sticky too. Probably won’t be returning. Only did this review for 20% off the bill, probably the only upside… other than the service.

Went out for my first meal since march 2020 took my mum to burntstump pub in the park. Our waiter Darren was fantastic really made
a fuss of all dinners and was just a joy to be around. Thank you Darren. The food was good and we had a lovely time

Staff were welcoming and inviting. Easy to order food and drinks.
Sunday roasts were nice, but could do you with being warmer. However, they had a good choice of veg on the plate.
Fish and chips were lovely, lots of chips cooked well and the bread was fresh. Unfortunately, the mushy peas tasted a little fusty and fish was a little dry.
Overall was a nice meal.

Well worth a trip out to enjoy this natural country park. If you have a buggy then make sure it has bigger wheels.

Visited Saturday night, must be the busiest night of the week mid summer. Had a table reserved which was ready and waiting, clean and tidy. Good quality drinks at a reasonable price. Waitress informed us it was only her second night serving, thrown in at the deep end eh, but she welcomed us and took our order, no problems. Expected a wait on food but starters came out, as ordered, good size and quality. Mains again came out without much of a wait and again as requested, hot, good on quality and portion size. Although the restaurant looked busy, tables were occupied and re set quickly once vacated. A good meal at a very reasonable price on a busy night.

Nice area for walking the pooch with the pub in east reach. Can get busy but nice all the same within easy reach of main routes.

It's a small, but interesting park, quite open, with hills and quite passable paths for a rambling wheelchair. At this time of year the daffs were out, which was lovely, and so was the sun, which was nicer. It's not a long walk though, which we found a tad disappointing.
Oh, and free parking for up to two hours, which should be long enough.

Burntstump country park is a great walk with, or without a dog! There is a huge cricket pitch which can become over crowded with families and picnics on hot days (not that we have many of those!). There is an Inn at the top of the field, at the entrance which serves food and drinks, definitely recommend trying it out!

Bring your camera, a picnic and your walking shoes!
