On the surface it’s a great new park. Plenty of ramps and cater for scooters, bmx and skate boards.
Whilst we all know things need to be economically viable it’s just too busy and they are letting too many people on the ramps. Kids are queuing and actually my younger kids 10 and 6 are being intimidated by the older (adults) who are monopolising some of the ramps
I’ve taken my kids to 4 park across the North in the last two weeks and this is unfortunately bottom of the pile even though it’s is new and really well equipped. Even the cafe is too crowded and there just isn’t the vibe I have felt at the other parks. Shame really

Let’s just get the price out of the way. £12?! For two hours?! Flo and The House charge half of that for a longer admission and they’re better parks. £12 for two hours is Greystone/Adrenaline Alley money and they’re far bigger.

Asylum is absolutely filthy with what looks like wax all over the park. Makes it incredibly slippery and almost lethal on a skatepark. (See photo of wheels caked in wax after 10 minutes)

The new layout is a step backwards. There simply isn’t enough room for it. The corner at the bottom to the quarter is far too sharp and the grind box is way too close to the quarter.

The only saving grace is the cafe for a nice ice slush.

Highly recommend just going to Flo or The House. It’ll be far cheaper and you’ll have a much more pleasant experience.

I used the online booking service, ‘quick book’ and was given a booking id. I genuinely thought the payment had gone through, although it seemed very quick, but I was very busy at the time, at work. It was a genuine error on my part, which I was unaware of. My son arrived with friends, they went on the train together. I was not aware there was an issue until I saw missed calls from my son, as he was due to leave. I spoke to him and he told me he was unable to leave, he wasn’t being allowed to go and his friends had had to leave him to catch their two trains home ( a four hour journey) I was very upset because this meant he would have to travel on two trains alone and asked to speak to the manager who threatened to come many miles to my home town and f*cking punch my face in. I still had no idea the money had not gone from my account. I immediately paid, once my son had explained that although I had a booking id, this did not mean the payment had gone through. The exact wording on the booking id was ‘ (This is the
unique number given to bookings been paid in
1 transaction.) I had thought this meant the fee was paid and would never try and cheat my way out of anything. I’m absolutely distraught that my son is having to come home alone in the dark, because he was not allowed to leave. I completely hold my hands up to my mistake, but to be threatened, screamed at and used the f word at by a member of staff was uncalled for. I was obviously upset my son was stranded and my son has been to the skatepark a few times before, and obviously has previously paid. I’m sure that an explanation from the member of staff would have been better business acumen than threatening and screaming to come to my home town and punch my f*cking face in was not the best way to deal with a frantically worried and upset parent. I’m a teacher; I’d never dream of speaking to anyone like that, I don’t use language like that and my son didn’t need to hear that either. Absolutely heartbroken that a place for young people has treated it’s customers so badly. I’m really really upset.
