The Royal Crescent Hotel is the most impressively located luxury hotel in the World Heritage City of Bath, occupying the two central buildings of the world's finest crescent. The Grade-I listed buildings were designed by the famous Georgian Architect, John Wood the Younger and were first occupied in 1775. Beyond its magnificent facade lies a hotel renowned for its charm, elegance and superb service, and the unexpected beauty of the beautiful one-acre, landscaped garden leading to the skillfully converted coach houses, which now accommodate the award-winning Montagu's Mews restaurant & bar, as well as The Spa. This iconic hotel is far more than a remarkable collection of buildings and beautiful gardens. It offers the opportunity to experience a style of gracious living from the age when Bath was the very centre of the civilized world. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served daily, along with an all-day dining menu, and non-resident guests are very welcome.
Show more...Great location and wonderful staff but our room was not worth the price we paid even with an upgrade to a heritage room on arrival. I am sure if you pay top price for a suite in the main part of the hotel then it is amazing but the room we had was incredibly ordinary and not in the Grade 1 building. We have stayed in better rooms for a lot less.
Show more...I was enjoying my stay until i had to deal with my desire to use the toilet at 7 am in the morning. After a night out in bath city and a 6 hour rest. I woke Hoping to go to my toilet and relieve myself to find some other persons floating human poo blocked in my toilet. Knowing i never used the loo as I checked in and went out for the rest of the night to find it did not wish to flood my room. I had to use the public loo in the hotel in the basement. Very embarrassing and moreover the receptionist cared little offered no price of the 400 pound bill and talked to me like i should have expected the old pipework to not work, reached out to them prior to writing them seeking a partial refund based on my stay, was ignored. Not a happy client. Wont return, intend to speak about chargeback on my credit card due to this issue. The lack of concern and interest regarding this is the reason why I’m more annoyed as time goes on. They seem to think that house keeping leaving some one else’s human waste blocked in my toilet due to the buildings age is an acceptable reason
Show more...This was a perfect experience. The hotel is amazing. Food is delicious. Swimming pool and span/hammam facilities are great and everybody at the hotel was welcoming and ready to help. I highly recommend this hotel in Bath.
Show more...I specifically booked a room with two beds, but I was provided with a room that had only one bed and a camping mat, which they labeled as a folding bed. My 14-year-old, who is 5.5 feet tall, double not sleep there. To address the issue, they moved us to a different room with a sofa bed. While this was an improvement from the camping mat, it was still not a proper bed. Additionally, the change resulted in a downgrade because I lost the proper desk to work on, the WiFi didn't work well, and worst of all, the toilet was clogged. This situation completely ruined our long-planned vacation. We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, only to be disappointed by the subpar accommodations and amenities provided. For the rates they charged, we expected a comfortable stay with proper beds and working facilities. Instead, we were given inadequate sleeping arrangements and faced issues with desk, parking, WiFi, newspaper, steamroom, toilet, etc. This experience felt like a complete rip-off.
Show more...As a local I have visited many lovely local spas and was very much looking forward to this one as part of a £160pp package. However the facilities at the spa are just not appropriate for spa days. With only 4 deck chairs and no limit on the number of visitors they let in we were left unable to relax and enjoy our time there. For a 5* hotel it is also poorly lacking in facilities. The changing rooms are more akin to a county leisure centre and the service is just generally not great. We saw many other people come in, look around and face similar issues. I’ve been to small spas before, but at these they booked just a few people in for each slot so everyone gets the experience they pay for. Sadly, it’s clear this hotel is just focused on making money at the expense of others. I have written to the spa to complain about our experience and the price we paid. The first response essentially said ‘it was a busy day and it’s a small spa’…. They clearly need to better manage the spa to avoid the same issues for guests every week but neither of these seem likely having read many previous reviews of the same issues. A very unimpressed customer
Show more...We has a Wonderfull stay recently at this hotel. The location is brilliant as are the staff and the quality/ experience. Would recommend and will be back. The tasting menu in the restaurant (and breakfast) was fantastic!
Show more...All round very satisfactory and enjoyable. We visited with Millie the Labrador who was well looked after, the lawn opposite and nearby park filled our mutual needs. The hotel staff and facilities including food and drinks were all first class.
Show more...what a lovely place - thoroughly to be recommended by us to anyone. Beautiful gardens and great rooms and a relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff and a truly amazing location - couldn't be better for whatever your plans are in Bath
Show more...Excellent from start to finish. Concierge were great and charged the car for us, hotel room was wonderful and food was amazing. Spa and pool is nice and clean and all the staff were helpful. The only downside was that the front of the hotel currently has scaffolding on it which we didn't know about prior to visiting, however once through the door everything is perfect.
