Went to see Marc Almond on 26 October 2022 and we had kept the tickets since they originally went on sale about 18 months ago. The Symphony Hall had the benefit of this interest free loan for all this time.

Shortly before the gig they emailed to say they were "upgrading" our seats due to production reasons.

When we got there we were sat right at the back despite seeing empty seats closer to the stage. Upon enquiry Egon in their customer services told me (as did the lady on the door) that it was not possible for them to move us to seats in a different price point.

My understanding of an "Upgrade" must be different to theirs then and I am tempted to buy then a dictionary. There has been no attempt to offer any compensation for moving our seats to the back and no real apology even.

If this is the level of service you can expect from a premium venue like the Symphony Hall then lord helps us when you go to inferiour venues. The interior and acoustics were supereb its just that Marc Almond was a tiny dot on the horizon and I had to use the zoom on my phone to actually make out it was him.

Beware folks if they say they are going to "Upgrade" you this will probably mean "Downgrade" you in reality!

I visited Symphony Hall this afternoon to watch a Christmas Spectacular. Really disappointed to find that a large proportion of the audience did not wear a mask during the show. There was no enforcement, no announcents reminding the attendees that it is a legal requirement in a theatre.
When the management were challenged afterwards, their response was that they are a 'hospitality' venue, like a pub or restaurant and therefore no masks are required.

Had I walked into a pub, cafe or restaurant and had to sit as close to others without masks, I would have left. I had no choice in Symphony Hall. Theatres have been cribbing about how long they had to be closed, little wonder when they made no effort to ensure safety. Had I not had covid in October, I would have left, as it was, I moved to an uncrowded area after the interval as it seemed other people did indeed leave as there were lots of empty seats.

The acoustics re simply out of this world. I have been here many times, in the last three years with different seatings. Am yet to sit somewhere where I am disappointed by either sound or view. Just go and enjoy the experience. A friend of mine who lives in Berlin, and who is a passionate classical music lover told me about Symphony Hall's amazing acoustics even before I moved to Birmingham, and he has never ever been here. :-o

Last night we went to see Queen Symphonic at this amazing venue. It is modern yet classic, and the acoustics are so good you get great sound wherever you sit. This was our fourth visit and we are already looking forward to the next!

Staff are plentiful and very helpful and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby in Brindley Place for a pre-existing show meal/ drink.

Fantastic venue for a classical concert. Acoustics were amazing, and superb seats overlooking the orchestra. As Broad Street was being dug up, we parked at Broadway Plaza car park at the top of Hagley Road, rather than at Brindley Place - only an 18 minute easy walk from the Symphony Hall, easy to get out, no queuing, and very reasonable price.

Second time visit here and it really is an excellent venue. Plenty of room, comfy seating and excellent acoustics.

We had booked seats to see Dionne Warwick prior the pandemic and in the three years since, her voice had sadly declined to a whisper. A recent op meant she had to sit down but she was clearly uncomfortable. It was a real shame.

We enjoyed the evening however; the backing singers and the band and her son on the drums were all excellent.

We attended the Now 80s concert last night and had a fantastic time. It was really good to see and listen to great live musicians and singers. The quality of voices was West End standard and we could dance and sing along to all the songs.

All staff at the venue were friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Alexander who went the extra mile for us and made us feel very welcome.

We will definitely visit again soon.

Wonderful hall and orchestra let down by the bar only serving drinks in plastic glasses. I asked for a glass and was told there weren’t any. So much for claims to sustainability. And is it really necessary to allow people to bring brimming pints of beer into a performance of The Dream of Gerontius, which only lasts in total for 100 minutes?

Went to the NYE Gala Concert, We've been several times and always the best entertainment - popular classical music plus some fun from the conductor - all very light hearted. London Concert Orchestra always good and the singers were impressive. The solo violinist was exceptional.
We also had the pre-concert dinner which was fine dining at it's best.
Congrats to all the staff who were working on such an important night of the year all to give us a good experience.
The only downside was no enforcement of mask wearing. There were plenty of stewards who could have mentioned it and it could have been mentioned from the stage. It's weak for the ICC not to tackle this issue.

Me and my Mum visited the B:Eats restaurant at the Symphony Hall on having stumbled upon it by accident after watching the gymnastics at the arena. The food was really tasty, there was a bit of a delay with our food but that is only to be expected on a Saturday in the middle of a busy Commonwealth Games! I had the eggs benedict with spinach and Mum had mushrooms on toast, both dishes were cooked to perfection. We had a seat by the window which was perfect for people watching. I must say how wonderful the service was from Jan, she is an absolute masterclass in customer service. Jan was so friendly despite it being incredibly busy, she checked on our order and made sure she updated us throughout. Jan’s kindness and incredible service made our day and I know that anyone who is served by her must feel the same, she is a credit to the restaurant. We cannot wait to return.
