Gloryholes Golf

Really disappointed to leave this review as have read good things about Gloryholes on local news websites etc. First of all, I want to start of by saying the staff are great and this in no way a reflection of them. They were all helpful, friendly and polite. The issue we had is with the general system of playing, something isn’t working at the moment and managers/owners seriously need to review. When we tried to book the website said walk ins welcome, so we decided to do that. We arrived at 6.45pm and it was fairly quiet, the bouncer on the door was really friendly and we went inside and paid really quickly, told it was table service only and given a buzzer to wait for our game. We waited 30 minutes before anyone came to see us for drinks which were okay, but on the pricey side for what they were but fairly standard pricing. We were then left at our table, no communication, no updates, not checked on again for another hour and a half. In that time, multiple groups around us who had been waiting even longer than us left without playing. I went up to ask how long it would be and ask for some more drinks if there was going to be more waiting, a wait is totally understandable, but no communication about how long that would be and being expected to wait an hour and a half without updates is a bit ott. We were told we would be next up. I explained we had a train to catch at 10.30pm and the staff member said that would be fine. Then… another hour passes, at this time we have been waiting in the waiting area for nearly two and a half hours, it’s 9.10pm, we’ve spent over £100 on drinks we didn’t really want just to keep us occupied (I’m sure this is part of the business model) and no signs of being near playing. At this point we are all ready to leave. All due credit to the staff on tills, they immediately gave me a refund and sent me on my way, he didn’t try to BS me about us being next up (which he said we weren’t). Bit disappointing that there was no apology but given the amount of other groups that also left, this seemed to be a regular occurrence. I genuinely believe they had no intention of us playing. They did not seem surprised we asked for a refund and the cynic in me thinks they were just getting the drinks out of us. Either way, two and a half hours wait with zero communication is a pitiful way to run a business, especially one with such potential. I hope systems are seriously reviewed. We likely won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend. If you try won’t listen to the website, walk ins are not welcome.

Well Came as a group of 7 friends for a 9/9:15pm booking. Started off that a bouncer talked to the front of the party about watching the step as you go on. One member of the party whom was at the back did not hear so slightly tripped on the step. The bouncer abruptly was like you can't drink here you have already had to much and took great pleasure in this (rather pathetic and certainly has little man syndrome). The rest of the party asked our friend what had been said as we had not heard the conversation. The bouncer interrupts our conversation and starts going if your not happy then you can all leave. We had made no fuss about this! He was trying to antagonise us certainly not the kind of group to give a reaction! So we carried on to the counter and paid. Owner explained drink service was slightly slow at the till and to take a seat and the number card will buzz when it is our turn to play golf. We went to sit down and realised how many people was waiting and then when a staff member came to take our drink order we questioned what time we would be playing as our booking was for 9 and 9:15 he explained there would be a long wait as just because you booked that time does not mean you play at this time you just will get to play. We asked for a refund at this point as we had to be somewhere else at 10:30. Refund given as a positive point. The owner and staff was nice. But the bouncer was a joke and looking for trouble.

We've been waiting to come here since we heard it was open. We live 80 miles from Nottingham, so we booked a hotel so we could enjoy the drinks and cocktails too. With recent reviews, we were a little cautious but decided to go ahead anyway. We walked in the door to be told that there had been a (nonspecific) malfunction and was now closing. So disappointed.

We have recently visited the place and really enjoyed the courses. Unfortunately some of the bar staff were abused by other customers and we checked they were ok. For this they were very appreciative and even bought us free drinks as a thank you.

However a bouncer with very little people skills and customer service tarnished our night. We had just stepped outside to count up our score card when he rudely approached us and asked us to move at the same time personally and verbally assaulting one of my friends on the process. Power gone to someone’s head if I have ever seen it! And reading the reviews on Facebook and trip advisor I am not the only one that thinks so. And I think glory holes have got a really problem if they leave staff with this approach to customers at the front of their venue.

I’d love to say we would recommend glory holes however this put such a taint on the night. One of the other bouncers even apologised on his behalf but I seriously think they need to sort out their bouncer situation?!

Wanted to book for a party of 6 over the phone. I was told that this can only be done online where you have to pay a booking fee of 1.20 per person to book!. That is the cost of a drink in total. I think that it is a bit of a rip off being charged so much and having no alternative way to pay. Save your money everyone and go to Roxy :)

Booked a slot for 8pm on Sat for 6 people. When we arrived given a buzzer and told to wait on the bar shouldn’t be long. After waiting 50 mins asked when we would be playing, we’re told we were next. After seeing a large group of about 10 starting their turn decided to query again. We had now waited an hour. Were told again we would be next when we queried this, we were told to refer to the terms and conditions of the booking, you don’t always get in at your chosen time, we accept this but an hour! We were offered a free round of drinks then started our turn. A member of staff came to take our order, her attitude was unacceptable, very rude then proceeded to chat about us with other members of staff. We made it clear we were not happy about this and she stomped out the building saying she wanted a fight!

Another member of staff was extremely helpful and couldn’t apologise enough.

I wouldn’t visit this again BUT if you wish to I would suggest a less busy time and if you choose a sat night prepare to wait a long time after you book your place.

went to gloryholes today for my friends birthday. got told to leave as apparently we broke something. this was not the case as it was like that when we entered the room and we were actually trying to fix it. The security staff was incredibly room and didnt even apologise to the birthday girl. I highly would not recommend for the price it is underwhelming and the staff dont listen.

I visited here and played the 'Alice's magical lady garden' (or whatever) course and I genuinely couldn't believe how terrible it was 🤣 None of the holes were particularly well thought out or challenging and the props and decor were truly atrocious. It's basically a room split into too many separate holes, with a crap paint job on the walls and props that look like they were purchased at pound stretcher. None of the holes are divided, it's just an open plan literal room with one separate little room to exit through with a mirror in it. Also one of the holes is randomly labyrinth themed for no reason..and it's literally a hole in a straight line from where you're meant to start golfing from. Oh and there are random fruit machines just dumped in the middle. Total waste of time. Golf fang is far superior.

Extremely disappointed with our visit this weekend! We pre booked and arrived at our booked time only to be told we could not play straightaway as there was a 30 minute wait. Once we did get to play we were looking forward to it and enjoying the game however once we started it became apparent our experience was not going to be as fun and enjoyable as we thought, this was because at each hole there was a massive back log of people waiting to play at each hole took about 10 minures of waiting before we could play at every hole! This really made our experience not enjoyable. It is quite clear that the venue are wanting to get as much money as possible and are over booking all of the sessions meaning when you do get to play you get stuck in a queue waiting to play at each hole! In addition to all of this the props in all of the holes really were disappointing they were definitely not like what was advertised on the website or the Instagram page. They all looked tacky and really would not class the majority of the themes as adult themed golf! I am really disappointed that our experience was very negative as I was so excited to go there as it looked amazing on all of the advertisements! It's safe to say I will not be returning and I would not recommend it to any friends!!!

Very disappointed, out with my family as son just turned 18, he didnt want to go into all the busy pubs so decided on here. Will not reconmend to anyone we rung before hand and was told they close at 1am last entry 11pm, arrived at 10.50pm started playing approx 11.25pm only got to 6th hole and door person come over to us to inform only had 20 mins left to play this time was 12.10am then a bar person come over and said last oreders at 12.15am, i then went to speak to manager to which was agreed we could have a refund,i went to gather my family to then a doorman come over? At this point wasnt sure what was happening the manager had said not giving us a refund as we was tqlking about the bar staff??? This was not true at all this is quite simply didnt want to pay the refund of £72 to play 6 holes. What a bery big disappointment for my son celebrating his birthday with my children. Never felt so belittled, i have tried escalating this with no joy. I would appreciate a reaponse asap thank you!
