Old Town Trolley Savannah Tours

So it is hop on and hop off, however you don’t want to hop on near the end near stop 15 as they take you directly back 1 which is the depot and they make you all get off in stead of just switching drivers. Then they force you to stand in line for another bus. You have to show your ticket anytime you get on or off so a printed pass is better than online. They should have a way for you to scan your ticket/phone when you get on the bus.

If it is Friday or Saturday be prepared to wait a couple busses especially if you want to get on after Forsyth Park. We had to to wait as 2 busses passed and were full. I would only recommend this if you wanted a cheap 1.5 hour tour of the city where you on at stop 1 and go all the way through without getting off.

A very nice driver with a super thick accent (Irish or Scottish?) stopped for us when we were standing at a blue and white sign near Forsyth park but which wasn’t apparently the “official” stop (despite the existing sign). I had called the Savannah number on their ticket after wandering 30 minutes not being able to find stop 4. So not sure why the sign is in front of the hospital but don’t stand there and expect to be picked up unless the driver takes pity on you.

Besides that initial confusion, we rode the day with 3 different drivers getting on and off whenever we saw something interesting or near a place we wanted to eat.

The trolley company made sure covid precaution were enforced, one driver not allowing a woman on until she masked up. It’s nice to see companies taking this seriously and yet still stay open and attract customers. I would not have ridden on the trolley had that not been the case. I appreciate that The trolleys also have sanitizer at the door.

We always do a bus or trolley tour on our first day in a new city to get the overview before deciding how to spend the rest of our time there. Old Town Trolleys did a great job and we enjoyed our day as a result.
