Show more...We stayed in Bellisle House with our family at the beginning of September 2015. We had a fabulous time and great fun with the massive gardens and hot tub.
The owner greeted us when we arrived and was very accommodating and helpful by showing us around the house to where the heating was located etc.
The house is finished to a very high spec and very modern, wifi, american fridge and a huge kitchen/living room with a table tennis table.
There are en-suites in almost every bedroom and the beds were very comfortable.
Our deposit was also refunded to us within a few days.
I will definitely be booking again as the house was fantastic and Michael and the Bellisle staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely morning of relaxation and treatments at Bellisle Spa. We booked the August offer of a body massage and facial for £65. This included time in the relaxation room (about 90 minutes) and after our treatments we were given small sorbet shots and tea/coffee. The therapists are very professional and the contact with the Spa (prior to our visit) was excellent Rhonda was super efficient and a great help. It's a lovely location and not too far out of Coleraine. Peaceful and tranquil and well worth looking at their monthly offers.
Show more...Well, the house, the location and the stay was absolutely perfect however it has been completely ruined by the owner of the property. A group of is stayed at the property early October. Firstly on the Saturday evening the owner just walked into the property, not a knock, no press of the doorbell and no text or call. This is extremely disturbing and a complete invasion and of privacy. BEWARE another review from another guest also makes not of him doing this. Fortunately we where all sitting watching TV and having a drink, however what if the males weren't present and he just walked into the property with the girls getting dried after being in the hot tub? I'm sure just walking into the property without reason is a breach of contract regarding our stay. He then proceeded to make the excuse that he was collecting a "tool" Secondly, after our stay he withheld £125 of our deposit claiming that "the hot tub was damaged" Supposedly there was a tear in the hot tub lining and the hot tub was contaminated with "fluff" he also commented on the hot tub being "full to the brim" Now everyone that used the hot tub wore appropriate swim wear, everyone treated the hot tub with the respect as if it where our own. Before leaving the property I personally cleaned the area around the hot tub, put the hose on to fill it up and set it on to heat. The hot tub was in perfect working order when we left so we are completely satisfied there was absolutely no damage to the hot tub. Book with caution and be prepared to lose your deposit for some "phantom damage" & also have you evening interrupted by the owner waltzing into the middle of your social gathering.
Show more...Really disappointing experience at what has the potential to be a great spa. Really poor customer service, and communication between staff and clients has left us feeling very dissatisfied and ripped off!!! A group of us booked the outdoor hot tub, a treatment and afternoon tea to celebrate our 30ths however we were rushed through the whole experience and even told that because they had a larger group coming through we had 20mins to eat our afternoon tea and then we would have to go!! The spa had clearly over booked and didn’t have the space or staff to cater for the numbers and we ended up unfortunately getting the raw deal. This was an expensive experience and to be spoken to abruptly and rushed through we feel is unacceptable. At no point when booking were we made aware that we would be under a time restriction. The majority of the group travelled up to 2 hours to attend the spa so you can image their annoyance. Ironically upon arrival we were asked to rate our stress levels- well we certainly left more stressed than when we initially arrived. Next time we will stick to a rival spa that treats their customers with appreciation and respect and certainly gives the 5star experience one expects when you’ve paid a substantial amount.
Show more...Very disappointing. Never made it to the spa due to unforeseen circumstances and had to cancel my booking 4 hours after the booking was made. I was assured at the time of booking there was a 24hr cancellation policy so I cancelled via the link to the app I got sent via text message giving over 48hrs notice to which it was then followed up with a call asking how I had done that as they didn’t know bookings could be cancelled like that. So that was fine Amanda who I was talking to was lovely asked why I needed to cancel and my booking was cancelled. I then queried the £20 charge Harriet took at the time of booking to hold my booking to which Amanda said she didn’t know and asked did I pay it as she wasn’t sure as it was whatever Harriet decided and it was up to her. So I explained to her i was told £20 would be taken but I could cancel with no charge as long as it was 24hrs before my booking to which it was, Amanda then said she can check with Harriet to see what she says as it’s up to her and it is just whatever Harriet decides.
Amanda then called me back to say no I had lost it and there was nothing she could do Harriet said no and it’s her decision unfortunately she couldn’t do anymore for me. I then asked about the booking policy as Harriet definitely had said I had 24hrs prior to my appointment to which Amanda said she didn’t know what it was it but it was on the website and I could go and look at it. I had booked via the phone so I hadn’t been on the website and no booking confirmation had been sent so all the I formation I received was a text message with a link to my booking and that my booking had been confirmed . She then said she would call Harriet as she didn’t know, to which she came back with a resolution of two £20 gift vouchers to which I responded with no I only paid £20 but no in actual fact Harriet had not only took it upon herself to charge me as Amanda doesn’t change, she fraudulently took double the amount she said she would take. I verbally authorised £20 to be taken from my account at no point was £40 ever mentioned or authorised.
Awful spa so badly run poor Amanda was trying her best but had not a clue it was obvious she had very little or no training and had to call three times to give me the information I had asked for. There is better spas a short drive away definitely would never recommend.
Myself and 4 other friends planned a day at Bellisle Spa back in Jan '18. This was to celebrate us all turning 30!!!! We don't get to see each other as much as we would like as we all live in the four corners of Northern Ireland. So this was the perfect opportunity to relax, catch up and celebrate or so we thought! On arrival we were met by a very unwelcoming lady who was not one bit interested in being there or happy to see paying customers. Surely your front of house staff member needs a bit of personality to welcome your customers?!! We were shown where to get changed and told to wait in the pre-treatment room so we could be shown to the hot tub outside area. After waiting 5-10 mins in this room we were led to the outside area. We had previously been informed that we would have an hour in this area to enjoy. So after half an hour we were surprised when we were told 3 of us were to get out as we were having treatments at 13.05. That was fine as we assumed we would maybe have time after to get back in. We were told we could dry ourselves off in the sauna and head back to the pre-treatment room for 13.05. So back to this room we headed. 13.05 came and no one came. It came to 13.10 when one of the girls headed out to the reception where a man and the receptionist were standing. My friend asked if we were still suppose to be in our wet swim costumes? And no-one has come for us yet. His reply was that he did not want our 'wet bums' on his treatment chairs and suggested that we got changed. He then asked the receptionist did she not tell us?? To which she said she did!!!!! Funny how all 5 of us misheard that!!!! These details should not have been spoken of in front of customers that was a matter that should have been dealt with between the manager and staff! Anyway, we quickly got changed and were met by the therapists on our way back to the pre-treatment room who commented that our treatments were booked for 13.05 suggesting that we were late when in fact NO-ONE came to get us at 13.05 whether we were changed or not!!!!!
The treatment itself was lovely and I cannot complain about it. We were shown to the relaxation room after, about 5 mins in, a girl came in and asked if we wanted tea or coffee with our afternoon tea? Bearing in mind there were only 3 therapists on, 3 of us girls had just finished our treatment so the other 2 were only starting theirs. We asked what time the afternoon tea is at as the other 2 have just gone in for their treatment. We obviously wanted to wait for them and enjoy it all together. It was 2.20 and the afternoon tea is at 2.30. So we looked confused at each other, quickly finished our sorbet, rushed to the changing room, had a quick shower and got changed and headed to the tea room. We sat and waited for the other 2 girls who came in around 10 minutes later still in their dressing robes they had only just got to the relaxation room and were in the middle of eating their sorbet when they were told they had to go to the tea room. The girls sat in their robes while us 3 were fully clothed. The receptionist then came in to let us know that there was another group coming in for afternoon tea in 20 minutes. There was no rush but we had to be out in 20 minutes!!!!!! Are you serious?!!!! We had been rushed through the hot tub experience and made to feel like we were the ones holding everything up and then you give us 20 minutes to enjoy our afternoon tea!!!! The same girl came in about 20 minutes later and informed us the other group were waiting So we got the hint and packed up our goodies and left! A member of our group is gluten free which could not be catered for which is highly disappointing too!!!!! The baked goods were obviously bought in so how much effort would it have been to buy a gluten free scone and few taybakes in?!!! We booked in January, there was plenty of time to source these!!! The girl who is gluten free brought her own food and this was given to the receptionist which was put in a cupboard, not even stored in the fridge and handed back to our friend in her plastic bag. No offer of presenting it on the wee cake stand like ours.
Overall, a highly disappointing experience!!!! It was not a cheap day. We paid over £70 for this day and we all had been looking forward to it so much!!!! People are so shocked at when we describe our experience! Communication skills and time management were lacking but somehow we were made to feel like it was our fault. We arrived on time and did exactly what we were told. There were too many groups in for the size of the spa and therefore our experience was rushed and not enjoyable. There was very little catching up done as a group of friends as we were constantly be ushered onto the next thing. Unfortunately as your receptionist had no people skills we felt unable to share how we felt to her at the time. Since then we have emailed and spoke to management, but the manager informed us the staff had different stories of what happened that day. Let's be honest why would we make this up?!!! Anyway, he was not one bit interested in making it up to us and therefore we will not be back! This place has so much potential but huge consideration would need to go into addressing how you communicate to your customers and how their time is spent at the spa. There was nothing relaxing about our day!!!! Your front of house staff member would need some training too!!!! Unfortunately there was nothing that would tempt me back! A highly disappointing experience for us all!!!!!

Show more...My mum and I came here a few days ago. We had the outdoor hot tub and sauna, back massages and afternoon tea. We felt slightly rushed through the hot tub, we were told we got an hour but it was only 45minutes. Massages were lovely. Afternoon tea was a bit of a let down. Scones and tray bakes only, no sandwiches, and we kind of felt like we were a bit of a nuisance. Nice place but it has so much potential.
Show more...Nice building and the package of gown, relaxations areas etc are nice but I found it very noisy. chairs can be heard dragging across stone floors- irritated the heck out of me. Doors clang, relaxation area is too busy, maybe needs partitions/ lower light

We arrived with our extended family on Monday 17th August 2015 . Had an amazing week in the house because of its great space and facilities. Probably one of the best houses we have ever stayed in . Unfortunately 8 days after we returned home a family member received a text message from the owner enquiring what had we done to the hot tub. He accused us of turning off the hot tub and clogging it up and was withholding 75 pounds of our deposit . This was hurtful to us as a family as we know we left all in order both within the house and out. He never phoned us to discuss anything with us or hear what we had to say. In 18 years of renting holiday properties we have never ever lost any deposit big or small as we always treated the properties with respect that they deserve , always intending to return at some later time. Unfortunately when we were looking at reviews of Bellisle House at our time of booking we ignored a review that had been left by another family who had money kept of them as well. The owner seems intent on keeping some of your deposit so beware and don't be caught out like us. If there was a genuine problem why did he wait 8 days and also the courtesy of a phone call would have been more appropriate rather than a text message. We would have booked this property again but that is out of the question entirely. A short sighted owner with very little respect for the people who keep him in business. Don't be fooled into booking this house because of its beauty. You will lose out in the end
