Clue HQ Birmingham is a Escape Game/Entertainment Centre. We have 4 great live escape games to breakout from. The Betrayal of Cluetankhamun, The Hellevator, Captain Riddle's Forgotten Fortune, and The Legend of Miyalock: Forbidden Magic. Each room has their own storyline which is explained to you on entry. After being locked in the room we put 60 minutes on the clock. You try to escape the room solving a set of puzzles, clues, finding keys as a team of up to 7 players. Will you get out in time?
Show more...These online escape rooms have been one of the highlights of my lockdown. Me and my parents have completed 3 out of 4 available rooms virtually and we are always massively impressed. Averaging 2 hours to complete, they definitely waste some time during lockdown and Tier 4 restrictions. Happy New Year everyone!
Show more...We played the online game 'Astra' and would thoroughly recommend it as a fun activity to do during lockdown. Lots of challenging puzzles to work through, which were very enjoyable and got us thinking! We have played a number of similar type games since the original lockdown and this was definitely up there as one of the best. Great value for money and a great way to add some excellent entertainment to a cold winter evening during lockdown.
Show more...We played the Astra game as a virtual team building exercise during lockdown 1. He was really good value for money - absolutely LOADS of puzzles and riddles to solve. We also through it was really immersive in terms of the platform, with emails, puzzles and other "channels" to keep track of, so it wasn't a boring linear journey. Also, we found the puzzles relatively hard so we didn't complete in and hour but it was really helpful the room stayed open for 24 hours so we could take our time to complete.
Show more...2 adults and a 12 year old visited for our first escape room and we did the Legend of Miyalock.
The room itself was fabulous, it really made you think and the equipment/technology was great too.
Sherlock was very helpful and friendly and she made our experience an extremely positive one. It was well worth the journey from Telford to Birmingham.
With excitement we all got rather hot and sweaty inside the escape room so I would recommend wearing layers that you can remove for your comfort. Plus, do not wear any loose fitting jewellery or accessories that may be easily lost in one specific part of this escape room. My Daughters bracelet has now been buried in the mines along with legend.
There are escape rooms closer to home however I googled child friendly escape rooms and ClueHQ came up. I am glad we visited here for our first experience.
Myself and my husband are starting to think of ourselves as escape room veterans lately as we have completed almost 20 rooms in total at 5 different escape room venues. Having now experienced many different places i would definitely but ClueHq at the top of my list.
Upon arrival i wasn't sure what to expect as the location is a little hidden away in the backstreets by Snow Hill in Birmingham. Once inside the waiting area is quite basic with a couple of seats and some tables, toilets and a vending machine. The lighting was dark with a good mysterious theme to it.
Staff were really lovely and very welcoming.
Our first visit was to complete Cell Block C and our games master was Roxy.. I absolutely loved this room- before we began we were blindfolded and taken in separately to the starting positions in the room which added to the story and the fun of the experience. We managed to escape with 90 seconds left- this room is rated lower for difficulty but we felt really challenged in there, the puzzles were brilliant with a mixture of different things to do and solve.
We loved it so much we booked to go back 6 days later to do Hellavator. This time our gamed master was SherlockTomes, once again a brilliant experience. The theming around Hellavator and the special effects inside are nothing short of amazing. We escaped with a few minutes left and just loved every second.
Cant thank the staff enough for their welcome and how they add to the overall story. My only suggestion here would be to maybe vamp up the waiting area with some more seats/tables and consider selling some additional snacks/drinks but this would only be an added extra, after all you aren't there to eat/drink but to escape their fantastic rooms!
There are still a couple of rooms left there for us to do- can't wait to go back!
We did this with our two sons (aged 18 and 20). Finding family events with kids their age is difficult, as understandably they want to do different things. However, this really worked and we call contributed in different ways to successfully escaping, even if with only 1m 26s to spare. Big thanks as well to LockZee (Roxie??) who looked after us and gave us a few hints to help us when got stuck.
Show more...As a fan of escape games I was very glad to see Clue HQ release some online games during these strange times of 2020. My team (consisting of 3 people across 2 households) have completed all 4 of the games as they were released and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. We completed the first 2 in around 90mins each and the next 2 in between 2 hours and 2.5 hours. We'd worked out the "answer" earlier in most cases but wanted to get the most out of our experience by completing all of the missions etc.
We all used our own devices (and you can now have up to 6 devices connected at once) and used Zoom or Skype to ensure we could communicate while completing the game (and cheering afterwards).
We all hope that they will release one (or more) further games.
A brilliant way to spend an indoor evening, Orpheus was a little challenging and engaging. I have done both physical and virtual escape rooms and equally as good as each other. Thank you for being there for us during all of the struggles this year.
Show more...I went to Clue HQ as part of a teambuilding exercise with colleagues and had the best night. The game host Lauryn was warm, inviting, funny and when we finished with 13:30 left on the clock she made us feel like we were the smartest people she's ever seen. The escape room itself was fun, inventive and very interactive. Even with 5 of us in the room it didn't feel cramped, and the puzzles ranged in difficulty but always gave me a satisfied feeling after solving them. The videos that play whilst you're in there are really immersive too. Would absolutely recommend Core to everyone.

Super fun and I definitely recommend! We originally booked the AI game on a medium difficulty level and our host Sherlock changed that around when she challenged us.
Show more...Due to COVID restrictions we had to wait outside, whilst another team were preparing for their game, I'm happy it wasn't cold!
On entry we had to ensure our masks were already on and kept on for the duration of the visit (including inside the game), we also put on hand sanitiser. My main concern was not being comfortable keeping a mask on my face and don't bother with a face guard, you won't see a thing, however, I was so focused on solving the clues that I forgot the mask was on. So it's honestly not as bad or restricting as I initially thought it would be.
Our host Sherlock was lively and fun, she explained a few house rules and then challenged us to do the Elevator game. Which we decided to do. I kid you not, I had SO MUCH FUN. It was super challenging and soooo unexpected. I'm really trying not to give away any clues or surprises, so all I'll say is is make sure when you go, you select this escape room. It was awesome!!
We just about did it with 56 seconds to spare, then afterwards found out the difficulty level was hard but she helped us when we literally had no idea of what to do next. It was super invigorating and we're delighted that our host convinced us of this awesomeness!
