Hotel Indigo Cardiff, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was a true joy! Whilst it’s a bit tricky to find if you’re just going off Apple Maps, it’s well worth the bit of trouble. Fun art work, great rooftop bar and most importantly, the best staff!! Phil and Maya are true rockstars at what they do. 5 stars all around.

This was probably one of my favourite hotels to date. Firstly, I was a solo, female traveller for work and was made to feel very safe by the hotel setting within an arcade. I arrived early and the lovely receptionist looked to see if a room was available (not expected but always very grateful when they say yes!) and there was one. I went to University in Cardiff 20 odd years ago and was keen to get out exploring old haunts! The room was exceptional, large, spotlessly clean, a push button shower with great water pressure, comfy bed, lovely pillows and duvet, great Welsh coffee, good brand of hairdryer- I can go on and on! My room was really quiet too. This was booked through my work but the price for a 4 star hotel was amazing- will be back for leisure purposes and will 100% book here. Staff at breakfast were wonderfully friendly and the coffee and poached eggs were perfect. All in all I could not fault this place if I wanted to! Everything a hotel should be.

What a wonderful hotel,staff were amazing and welcoming.Had the chance to upgrade room and would definitely recommend the breakfast which was scrumptious Lots of choice and cooked fresh ,the hotel is central for sightseeing or shopping.

Arrived early so went to see if we could leave our bags to be told our room was ready and could check in the staff are lovely so friendly and helpful. Hotel is great location centre of town. Our room was lovely the deco is fabulous nice comfy bed clean, breakfast however was a little let down for us the continental was great nice meats cheese yogurt fruit even mackerel I ordered the vegetarian breakfast it came with luke warm beans hard mushroom lump of soggy tasteless spinach coffee was filtered and bitter I do like option to have a cappuccino or latte the tea was weak. I will stay at this hotel again but not with the breakfast option

Perfect location for any evening socialising. Parking is available a short work but it’s a NCP that you need to remortgage your house to park for 24 hours. You get a discount from the hotel but typing it into a highly dis-configured touch screen pad at the car park makes it unbearable and you just give up and pay full price. But the hotel! Staff super friendly, welcoming, have left belongings before and they have kept them safe for collection for me! Clean, unique and just overall a lovely place to stay. Booked a double and given a twin before with no acknowledgment but as a solo business traveller think they just avoided the conversation but it was a bed for the night and no bother! More than anything feel safe and clean here. Always my first choice in the diff!

Firstly the positives: very friendly reception staff, clean sheets and towels , good hot shower and good location. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives. Good location but a lot of noise outside at night, which is to be expected staying right in the center of Cardiff so ask for a room around the back of the hotel. The rooms are dark and dingy with a lot of chipped furniture and lack of usable surface space. The tiles on our bathroom floor and shower cubicle were chipped. The cleaning definitely not up to scratch . The room felt grimy with dust on the floor and the doors and paintwork needed wiping over. It needed a good deep clean. The breakfast was just awful, one member of staff just kept tutting and rolling her eyes when you asked for something. The buffet table was untidy and empty and the yogurts were warm. The coffee was really bad. Lots better hotels in central cardiff than this.

This hotel has quaint features, and I love that there is laminate not carpet. However, the cleanliness isn't up to snuff. Mirrors surfaces and remotes are covered in grime which made me feel uneasy. General cleanliness seems OK. Rooms are also unusual shapes

Once again another fantastic stay . As we walked in we were greeted by a super friendly reception (didn’t catch her name) 🙁 who informed us that we had been upgraded to a superior room as it was our wedding anniversary. Room was gorgeous, immaculately clean. There were 2 slices of chocolate cake and strawberries left for us and the fridge had some wine, beer and savoury treats for us to enjoy. We were also give. A voucher for a drink of choice at the bar. By far one of the best hotels I. Cardiff for the price and service. We’ll done Indigo!

What the actual fu*k . No lifts working so total rabbit warren. You have to walk miles , I’m not joking . We then get told bar closing at 10 as it’s not busy , normally 11, yes but we’re here and we paid to stay here , so serve us . ‘It’s not worth my while’ Absolute joke. However , location is incredible. Very very disappointed for £450 for 2 nights.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had travelled to Cardiff for a family get together and enjoyed exploring the area before heading back for a good nights sleep Everything was as i expected. We would not hesitate to stay again next time we're in the area
