Show more...We visited as a family, 2 adults and children aged 9&10. We have done other escape rooms as a couple but never with the children and were worried it would be too hard for them. We could not have picked a better escape experience for their first time, they absolutely loved it and we ended up doing 3 rooms over two days. We started with Alice in Puzzleland which ended up being our favourite, we also did The Last Viking and Blackbeard’s Treasure.
All of the rooms were fantastically well thought out, had logical progression and a wide range of different types of puzzle to solve.
Finding the location of escape hunt was our first puzzle, it’s tucked away in a court yard right at the end of Salthouse quay where it joins Gower street which is not quite where google maps placed it and we ended up having to ask for directions.
Once inside the staff were all friendly and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the rooms and ensuring we all had a great time.
Safety wise all possible precautions were taken whilst we were within the building and they had clear instructions. Hand sanitiser was readily available and masks were provided upon our arrival. The team had a well thought out plan which was executed well.
Overall we had a brilliant couple of days and a safe, fun and exciting experience. Thank you.
What can I say!
We have been to alot of escape rooms but this one is unique!
Not just your standard escape rooms!
We visited twice over this weekend and we were lucky enough to have the pleasure of Pirate Steve and Cowboy Steve!
He made our time here that extra special keeping in character throughout the game and making us feel that we was actually in the scenario.
When we were stuck he was always there to give us that clue if needed, but not to much so we still had to work it out.
Due to current situation with covid 19
We felt safe through out our time here we were provided with correct ppe.
We have done 3/4 here and we can't wait to book our last one!
Thanks again to Steve and the team for everything, we will see you soon !
Ryan and the Ripples 😉
We booked a last minute impromptu visit to do the Western themed escape room while on a trip to Liverpool. From start to finish the experience was fantastic. The building feels very Covid secure, with people being required to wash hands upon arrival and wear the gloves and masks which are provided at all times. Our host was super and really put effort into making the experience even more enjoyable. There were 6 of us but there was plenty for us all to do in the room and it proved a challenge, even though we won in the end. After our host engaged in a genuine chat about what we'd done and it was fab. Will definitely be returning to do another room!
Show more...My husband and I loved Escape Hunt! That much so, we ended up playing 4 games in 2 days. We went to Liverpool for our honeymoon and chose Escape Hunt because it was next to our hotel. It was definitely a great choice for more reasons than that! We did Alice in Puzzleland on Wednesday and enjoyed it that much we booked Blackbeard’s Revenge for Thursday. On Thursday we just kept asking for availability… We even booked another one in Leeds with our nephew today 🤣 Matt and Georgie were lovely. We really enjoyed our time at Escape Hunt Liverpool and would definitely recommend it!

Reading the other review makes me feel we didn’t get the same level of service
No photo taken and we never got asked a team name even though there was a leaderboard in the waiting room with team names on.
We made our way to the Wild West
Firstly, the room was dark and very hot which made playing the game difficult. We were given cowboy hats that had to come off immediately as it was stifling.
The room hadn’t been set up properly, an important name tag had been left inside a case so we couldn’t identify it. Some of the tasks, which were completed didn’t activate. I think they watch and listen and activate remotely, but if they’re not watching then it waste’s your time. Some of the numbers aren’t formed properly on the clues so you can’t tell it’s a 2 or if it’s a 9, really basic stuff.
The most disappointing thing is you don’t really know how many tasks are left and hope the Escape Hunt team are going to help you succeed in the time left. Unfortunately we were given too little help too late and even with a last gasp effort we realised we should have received help much earlier and we had no chance of completing the escape.
We had a brilliant time at Escape Hunt. We did the Alice in Puzzleland with a 13 and 11 year old and they loved it. The room was different than the usual escape room with not so much focus on locks, padlocks and numbers codes. Courtney was our host and was very helpful thoughout our morning and on hand with tips for our escape.
Highly recommended and we're looking forward to returning!
I came here with my 8 year old son on a whim, and I'm so glad we did! We did the Viking room, which was a series of puzzles set in a feasting room, long boat and Loki's lair. Sarah was really helpful, booking us in and explaining the rules, then switched into 'Epic Viking Voice Woman' speaking to us through the speakers and talking us through our quest. The puzzles were fairly difficult, but with 'EVVW' help we managed to get out with a second to spare.
Would definitely recommend a visit. We'll be back soon to try the Wild West room.
The most fun we've had in a LONG time. Did the Alice in Puzzle-land room - phenomenal. The room itself was incredibly immersive, not only this put the puzzles and effects were outstanding. Our Gamesmaster Niamh made the experience particularly enjoyable
Overall an amazing hour spent at Escape Hunt :)
Would highly recommend
Arrived a little early, was warmly greeted by Sam who sat us down and started to go through all the safety advice. The fire alarm sounded (false alarm) and everyone was efficiently moved to the courtyard, everyone was accounted for and then we were allowed back in when it was safe to do so. Was pleasantly surprised to be offered a free drink due to the delay in starting which was a really nice touch! Got back in and everything was explained again before we started our game. Big shout out to our games master Sam who was so helpful and patient and was happy to go back into the room after and explain some of the puzzles to us (we got a bit lucky on some of them). Also thanks to Matt and the rest of the team who were all warm and pleasant throughout the experience and were happy to chat & provide extra info. Had such a good time, will definitely be back!!!

The turnover times of rooms was terribly slow. The previous room (Wild West) occupants finished their game a few minutes before we were scheduled to start. We were sat down waiting for 20 minutes after our game was meant to have begun and were told that we only waited 15 minutes! Cheeky. If the staff member checked his cameras then he’d realise how slow the service actually was. He was apologetic and suggested we give them another chance which was nice. I did like some of the room props - well thought out. There wasn’t that high satisfaction feeling after opening a lock or solving a puzzle and I was extremely disappointed to find out that we needed to do some acting in order to progress. Would have preferred actual challenging puzzles to solve. It definitely wasn’t worth the money, however, I have heard better things about other rooms and it probably would be more fun with more people like a work team building exercise.
