Manchester Airport Taxis

I’ve used airports around the world but never had such a going over as at Manchester airport pre flight security. There was a man standing at the entrance distributing plastic bags for us to use for our liquids. Traveler beware… liquids of ANY size, including one squeeze left in a mini travel sized toothpaste MUST be placed in bags. Almost 85% of travelers suitcases that went into the queue were flagged, put through a hand search and all items construed as liquids…such as a one teaspoon container of face cream…all items are removed from your bag and thrown into bins and put back through the check. My bag circled 3 times before I was released. It took about 45 minutes in the “priority line” as we were flying business. Ok I understand the need for security and would have no problem complying but there are no signs preparing the traveler of the unusually stringent practices. The man who reviewed our things said “ This is how we do it in Manchester.” This airport was a one and done for us.

Thanks for the service - driver (Akmel) was efficient, helpful and polite - checked the flight and waited despite the delay with no quarrel refreshingly impressive. I use lots of pick up companies and this was the best so far. Will call you when I need to return to the airport.

If your plane is late and you are just a few minutes out of your complimentary 1 hour, whilst you are hot, tired and harassed after a bad flight and are in the middle of lugging your suitcases off the Carousel, the last thing you need is a phone call off a rude and unprofessional woman telling you that because you are over the 1 hour you will be charged extra. By all means text or mail that information but her timing was abysmal. Very unprofessional. Shame because the drivers both ways were lovely, on time, professional with lovely clean cars.

Used a Company Called Street Cars. (Just Outside Terminal 1)
Dangerous Driving, thrown about in back of car like being in a tumbler drier.
It was worse than 5 minutes of turbulence that we had just had on our flight back from Rhodes.
IF YOU BOOK PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TRAVEL INSURANCE !!!!

To be picked up at the airport and the taxi driver carry my case just sit back and relax is wonderful
