Magheracross car park has always been a great place to stop while driving the Causeway Coast for spectacular views from the cliff top.
The local council has put in some investment here and elsewhere to improve the visitor experience, including floating platforms taking the visitor right to the edge of the cliff face.
Towards the west you can look over The Skerries and along the White Rocks towards Portrush and Donegal in the background. To the east lies Dunluce Castle and the Giants' Causeway headland.
Wonderful view point located on the road towards Dunluce castle.
Exceptional coastal scenery looking towards Portrush one way and towards Dunluce castle the other way, including some nice views of Dunluce castle perched on the cliffs.
Decent sized car park and well maintained & clean paths.
Definitely worth a quick stop for the incredible views. The ruins of Dunluce Castle are dark and mysterious!
Show more...As mentioned in my review of the Dunluce Castle ruins, this easy and free stop makes this a hidden gem. One observation deck might make your knees knock as you look out over the cliffs. Just sensational views, especially on a sunny day.
Show more...Just before you get to Dunluce Castle, well signposted, with its own car park, this is a hidden gem.
Cantilevered over the rocks, there’s a view of Dunluce in one direction & towards white rocks in the other direction.
This has opened up a vista which was previously only visible from the sea.
Well worth a visit.
Worth a stop for the dramatic views along the Causeway Coast towards Portrush, Dunluce Castle & Giants Causeway.
Show more...A piece of metal to stand on and look at the view doesn't sound like a major attraction but this has been superbly prepared. It has a big car park with plenty of room for everybody, a metal platform to stand on a look down at the sea and the rocks with a distant view of Portrush and a second platform overlooking Dunluce Castle. Dunluce is worthy of a visit on its own but stopping at Magheracross just before you get there is thoroughly recommended.
Show more...This is a good place to break up a journey along the coast road and stretch the legs . There are two view points one gives good views of dunluce castle while the other looks up the coast towards portrush . Again stunning scenery . It was busy when we were there but there is ample parking
Show more...Is a fantastic spot to spot on your way along the causeway coastal route. Its recently been revamped so is beautifully presented. The addition of the 2 viewpoints is what makes this stop memorable. Amazing views had!

New small viewing points are fantastic (for the few months a year it is actually warm enough to spend more than two minutes on them) but what on earth is the skater park-style mounds of earth all about as they are blocking the vast majority of the view from the car park and road! At least before in the off season months, it was a stunning place to stop for half an hour to enjoy the view. Please rethink the artifically created view blockers what a wasted revamp otherwise.
