Rented a car for a week and this was one of my stops.
cheap entry, nice scenery, overall a really nice experience:)
would recommend if your into these types of things and have the time for it.
the amfi was closed at the time i was here which keeps this review from getting a "Excellent" :)
Wasn’t far to take the car after visiting Saklikent, but well worth a short visit. Not a huge amount of information, but very interesting nonetheless. 60lira each so not a lot to part with.
Amazing views from the top; unfortunately the stadium/amphitheater areas were out of bounds due to building work. The gentleman who runs the shop was very knowledgeable and passionate to share information (wouldn’t even take a tip from us!).
This looks awesome! Unfortunately I took jeep safari to Tlos and Sakiliient Gorge. I understood, will be time to explore Tlos a bit. They didin't stop in Tlos, only passing by. I really regret my decision because there are dolomuses to Sakiliient Gorge without all that entertainment on the board I was to sober to enjoy. I wasn't able to stand any more with so rude Britons( in every nations are rude people this time there were from UK), a women just pushed me from my sit like a trash, I complaining and been said that I am rude. I left excursion at once when jeep stopped in Gorge decided to come back by dolomus. That's not my cup of tee.
Waste of time and money if you want to see any historical attractions.
At only 15 lira to get in this experience is a must do. We were able to walk around freely and explore, there so much to see, you could make the visit last as long as you want, we spent approximately an hour here. Being such a well recommended sight we thought it may be busy but was only a handful of other people there.
Show more...Well worth a visit! We visited as part of a day trip to Saklikent Gorge too.
A lovely walk up to the castle albeit in searing heat with our Tour Guide and entry only 20 lira.
Nice little cafes close by with excellent service.
Our tour guide lived in the village and we also met her family which was lovely too.
Tlos has to be one of the best kept secrets of Turkey. One of the 6 important Lycian cities, it's location/situation alone is stunning. There were 2 other persons in the ruins the same time as we were. It's an hours drive from Fethiye/Oludeniz by car. Directions are clear. There are areas that are off limits, but by and large you can walk around most areas and lots of photos ops of the theater, basilica, baths, stadium, and the highlight the rock tombs. Climb to the top, the views are amazing. You can get up close to the tombs. And the views across the valley behind are beautiful too. Be sure to look to the left when leaving at the rock tomb on the sheer cliff, which is said to be that of Pegasus and Bellerophon. It will take a good 2-3 hours to see it well.
Show more...This the best ruins site i've visited in feithye vicinity. Also very close to saklikent, so you may just visit it after the gorge. Stunning views from the hilltop, but it's not safe for elderly to climb up there, stairway is worn out and slippery.
Show more...I have visited the ancient city of Tlos 3 times now and never tire of its interesting Lycean tombs , amphitheatre and fort. Each time I met with members of the Zorba family who have a stall selling hand-carved stone ornaments, a family tradition and very good artistry. They made us welcome again sitting with us for a nice cool drink and telling us all about the site and the many valuable artifacts found there. The son, Nail was particularly helpful with his local knowledge and perfect English. We were made to feel like friends, not just day-trippers. Well done Zorba family, true ambassadors of their homeland. Would certainly recommend a visit to anyone interested in ancient sites.
Show more...Mehmet from Guide Tours took us to Tlos and what an amazing place this is ! There is so much history and fascinating ruins plus new discoveries here from the Lycian rock tombs to the Roman baths and Bloody Ali Pasha's Castle. It was a bit of a climb to the top of the castle but well worth it and even the less agile of us managed it. Mehmet ( like all Guide Tours guides ) is fully licensed which means five years study at university and it shows as his English is excellent and his knowledge astounding. If you want to get the most for your money when booking trips this is the company to use.
Sorry - tried to load up some great photos but the only one it accepted was one of Mehmet !

One of the only remains of a Lycian city in the hills. To me the most magical side where you can climb to the top which offers a great view.
Show more...The city has a theatre, a stadium, tombs built in the mountains, two baths and much more.
We spend approximately 2 hours there but could easily be a half day. Usually it is not very crowded.
There’s a free parking lot and some cafes located at the entrance. Entrance fee is very moderate (20 TL).
Absolutely worth a visit, but bring good foot wear (no flip flops) 😉
