It is one of those places you think about when you talk about Istanbul but the place is a huge disappointment. It has tons of overpriced shops and everyone sell pretty much the same or similar things. Almost everyone smokes in there so it’s a second-hand smoke hell. For non-smokers, it’s best to just avoid it. Take a picture from the outside and be done with it. To shop and eat, take a ferry to Karikoy instead and you can thank me later. That is where locals shop and eat and they have all the souvenirs you want to buy there. Or head to Taksim square but stay away from Grand Bazaar and its surrounding
Show more...Came here a few times to look for some bargains but you won’t find many because most people in here will do their very best to rip all tourists off don’t trust anyone at all they’ll all tell you they’re the best price and quality while charging you more than English prices for bad quality clothes.
For anyone new to haggling don’t pay £10+ for t shirts they aren’t worth it. For shoes £25 absolute max price(even this isn’t great)
People will often try guilt tripping you by mentioning rent prices, how much they pay for the stock, pretending their quality is better and trying to be your best friend until you empty your wallet.
Find a price you’re happy with or ignore them and walk away
(Typically same items can be found in icemeler cheaper)
If you don’t like bartering or hassle then this is not the place for you. It’s a fun night out and you enjoy getting low prices for everything you need. If you just want to look around in peace don’t say a word and they will eventually leave you alone.

C U AROUND
Mostly rubbish and over-priced tat sold at the shops in the bazzar. The majority of shops sell poor poor quality Chinese fakes. Its a wonder they are not closed down.
We went late atfernoon/early evening so it was quiet. We did not get too much hassle at all.
Bought loads of really nice fake designer stuff at realy good prices but you have to haggle. roughly 20 T.Lira to a £1. Boughts all sorts of stuff, tried the local patisserie and even went to a local barber called Trendy Berber - had a shave, facial treatments for me and other half, had a haircut and got a neck and head massage all for £ 15 quid! Ask for Alex he is just the nicest man and will go all out with the treaments with his staff.
Advise you look at shops on high street for their prices to compare with before going there. You could end up spending a lot of time buying your bargains. Wear a good pair of walking shoes or trainers! dont feel shy to have tea or coffee with the shop owners. they mean well and want o get to know you.
Great spot to buy anything and everything. Sellers will try their best to drag you in to their shop and promise you that they have the biggest selection, best quality, best price….
Prepare to haggle….never pay the price they first quote!
The place is huge and well worth a visit although you’ll find that most shops have the same items so don’t buy straight away until you’ve checked all the prices and what deals they will offer you.
A must see when visiting Marmaris
Nobody wants to barter a reasonable price and expects you to pay london prices.
Be wary of aggressive shop keepers. If they do not get their requested price shop keepers are quick to become aggressive, get personal and start shouting.
As soon as you walk into the Bazzar you are pestered relentlessly ,however it appears that many shop owners now to leave you alone to browse once in the shop, but you do get bothered but not the very hard sell,or you didn't in my casesimply so no thanks and walk off.
Plenty of good buys at a decent quality ,but of course all none genuine.
Barter hard and you can get some very good dealsif your spending for example £30 ,there is no reason you couldn't almost half that price.Worth a look around ,as its quite big with plenty of shops selling every none genuine item you can think of.

Not too big, it is about a dozen streets in a grid covered from the sun which is a good relief for shopping. Mostly fake clothes and Turkish ornament shops. Everything is up for bartering. Just have your price in your mind of what you think the product your buying is worth and stick to that.
