East Strand

One of the nicest, cleanest beaches you are likely to have the pleasure to enjoy. Great walk to the White rocks and back. The sand dunes are stunning and when the sun shines, it is hard to find a better place anywhere

A 2min walk from the town center, this is a very beautiful and clean stretch of beach to walk around. As always, the weather in Ireland plays a big part in strolling around the town and beach. Best enjoyed on a nice and sunny day!!

Plenty of facilities or a few hours on a sunny day. Cheap car park and enough facilities. Great for surfing.

Clean and beautiful! What more would you want from a beach. One, if not the most beautiful beaches I’ve been to. Beautiful at all times of the year.

Returning for holidays would not be complete without walks on the East Strand from Portrush to the White Rocks. Everyone walking their dogs and enjoying the good weather leading up to the Open. This year I actually got severely sunburnt!!

Surfing while the British OPEN was being played awesome experience. The beach was really clean and was a great place to spend time.

This part of Portrush was very beautiful and great for walking.

This beach is the longer of the two Strands in Portrush and is great for a good walk to clear the head, and enjoy stunning views. It is dog friendly, although there is a small restriction at each end from June - September, the majority still welcomes four legged friends all year round.
It is also used for Park Run on Saturday mornings and junior parkrun on Sundays.
Just remember, if you come to visit this, or any other beautiful beach, leave only footprints please

Portrush East Strand is great place to take the kids or just go for a walk. It’s clean and holds blue flag status so very good for families, surfers or just every day enjoyment for everyone.
The East strand runs from Portrush to the famous white rocks approx 2.5K or 5K to the white rocks and back. Every Saturday morning the East Strand hosts the 5K Parkrun the only Parkrun held on a beach in the UK. This is the most popular event in N Ireland as it’s very seldom cancelled as do other events particularly in winter time due to frost or snow.
In summer East Strand is packed with day trippers and locals alike a great beach to spend the day.
