Went down a few times to this beach and it never disappoints, pure white sand, no rubbish and views that will take your breath away.
I am part of a motorcycle group called ‘Biking adventures and routes Northern Ireland’ abs we try to get to beautiful places around NI/Ireland.
I have been here with my family for barbecues and playing in the sand to the sun goes down.
If you want a beach that has plenty of space this is that place.

Stunning beach with lifeguards on duty. Can drive your car onto the beach and there is also a car free zone.

Drive through the little tunnel and you're on the beach!
Plenty of space for beach games, suitable for surfing but no life guards here. We had a drive through ice cream from the van on the beach. Lovely for walks. Even better if the sun is shining!

This place is just gorgeous!!! From the long golden sand stretching, to the wee caves and rock pools, to the views to be seen for miles. Me and my boys absolutely love Downhill and come here a lot 💙💙💙💙

If you want a good walk to blow off the cobwebs then Downhill Beach is the place for you.
Huge expanse of sand and the railway running past adds to interest

We were told this is the only beach you can drive your vehicle on in the North. And it’s the biggest beach I’ve ever seen!!! A spectacular view of the Mussenden Temple and a great beach for all summer activities although we were there in the fall. Race horses are trained on this beach and not goes on forever and is surrounded by steep rocks cliffs and mountains on one side.

I've taken tourists to this beach for many years - and I always return. It was my mum's favourite place. Never too crowded, but a lovely place to walk or bask in the sunshine if, like me, you're not a swimmer. Nestled as it is under Mussenden Temple, it is sheltered, but not rainproof! However, you can bring your car right on to the beach.

Park just off the road or drive onto the beach.

Walk to the left towards Benone beach & pass the Dunne waterfall.

Walk to the right & see Mussenden Temple on the cliffs above you.

This is another one of the North Coasts beautiful beaches which includes Benone beach, Castlerock beach, Portstewart Strand, Whitepark Bay etc.
