I have not been a Disney fan or felt the need to ever go. However, an employee of ours got us a $500 gift card a few years ago. We decided to finally use it. We went for our son's 11th birthday. From the parking to finally entering the park, it took nearly an hour, which really surprised me! However, it was a pretty efficient process despite the time. It's basically just from the sheer number of people visiting!
Our gift card paid for our entrance minus $3, so that was good! It was, I believe, an add'l $25 to park or $45 for premium parking. We did the lesser one. Food & drinks are expensive as can be expected. We brought a backpack with snacks & water, which is convenient they let you bring it into the park! That saved us some $$ for sure!
Upon entering Main Street, the castle is within view! The singers were amazing & gave me goosebumps! It was pretty best watching them perform! We went to City Hall & my Dom was given (free) a birthday button! The sheer number of people is crazy though, a little overwhelming! No bathroom line ups ever was nice, especially for a woman!! Bathrooms were always clean too!
We had three fast passes but most of the "good rides" were booked up. Two of the three we didn't need a fast pass for at all (under 20 min wait). The longest we waited was 90 minutes for a ride. Efficiency getting on/off rides was excellent, just again, so many people! Rides were fun overall, but Space Mtn had about 60 min wait & despite the cooler temp day, it was hot & humid inside while waiting! AC would have felt good, but the ride itself is really cool!!
Food quality was good & efficient. We ate a hot dog place for lunch ($9.99/hot dog & tator tots), all beef hot dog at least, but expensive. We ate dinner at a Tex Mex cafe which I though the food quality & food amount was a good value for the price. Water here was free in cups, which was a nice surprise. I had a cappuccino at a stand mid day & it was about $5 for about 12oz, which I thought was good value.
The 8:00 fireworks display is the best we've ever seen! I love that it was set to music & a story! Simply brilliant!
Overall, I can't imagine what the operating costs for just up keep, employees, & fireworks of this place must be!!!!! Astronomical to say the least! I can understand the entry cost gas to be high!
My one suggestion is the cleanliness of some of the garden areas while waiting for rides. People can be so rude about tossing gum, wrappers, bottles, etc. I totally get that a good portion of the human population sucks at tidying up after themselves, but a lot of it looked like it had been there awhile! However, with the shear number of people, it could've been from a day or two!
Overall, great experience & I'm glad we went! Well done!

Six of us spent an early January day here. Weather was mostly cloudy and mid 70’s when we started. It clouded up and rained for about two hours. We were on one of the roller coaster rides in ponchos and rode it out. Then went for lunch with soaking wet feet. The rain stopped and the clouds eventually gave way to a clearing afternoon and a starry night sky, perfect for the amazing fireworks and laser show. It was very crowded, kids still out on Christmas break. Fast passes are very valuable. Waits on the popular rides ran 60 minutes and longer. The less popular activities could be had in under an hour of waiting. Lunch and dinner weren’t too bad. Lines weren’t long and food was ready pretty quickly. Seating was hard to come by at lunch time, partly from the dining crowd and partly from those wanting to get in out of the rain. Dinner at the Columbia Harbour House was good and seating was no problem upstairs. The fireworks show at 8:00 was really spectacular – words couldn’t begin to describe it. You must view it from the front of the castle to get the full effects of the laser projections. It was so exciting and moving that people were crying when it was over. Waits for rides were still long up til closing. All in all, an enjoyable visit and 8 miles covered on the step counter.

We visited January 18th to 25th and MLK weekend was so crowded that it was impossible to push a stroller. Disney should NEVER overcrowd the parks like this. The way Magic Kingdom and all Disney parks offer fast pass is ridiculous. You basically pay an astronomical amount to be guaranteed 3 rides per day. Your first three fast passes must be in the same park AND you must use all three before scheduling any other fast pass. So let’s say you could only schedule your last of 3 passes for Avatar at 7pm. You cannot get another fast pass until you ride avatar at 7pm and by thenfast passes are sold out and the park closes at 8pm. All other rides were 100mins or longer for standby. We had 3 days in a row that we were only able to get on 3 rides with our fast passes. It was so disappointing for the kids. My biggest tip would be to schedule your last of 3 by 10am then you might be able to add more passes.

Don't go, waste of your money, your time and your nerves.
We went in february with our 2 little children 5 and 8, and regretted already by lunchtime. Feb is not the most crowded month but still its way ovecrowded, with min 45 60 min wait upto 2 hrs. That is 1 to 2 hours (!) Of waiting for a 3 min ordinary ride. There are so many more and much better theme parks around for a fraction of the cost we paid > 400 usd for a day for 4 of us. Disney world is an overexaggerated, out of time, PR institution which is not worth the ticket cost at all. At lunchtime all the restaurants and full and stupidly expensive. Where else in the world you pay 24 usd for 2 ice creams and a bucket of popcorn?

It was one of our worst family trips ever. If we are to come back again, it will have to improved a lot.
I will not go to a place that makes me feel there is no magic here , it’s all corporate Greed. Taking our family to the place where you stand in line for EVERYTHING, and wait and wait, it takes every bit of enjoyment out of us.
When you look around you don’t see any Disney characters, all you look at is All the people, crowds and lines upon lines. I did not see happy faces, I saw exhausted frustrated families.
We have been to Disney world and Disneyland years ago with total enjoyment. We noticed some of these rides were shortened some weren’t even running. So we walked through the area looking for these places, and there was so warning these aren’t running until we approach them. Also poor signage having to ask many people that were cleaners to guide us through the park was also very disappointing.
Florida is very beautiful and I believe there many other places that we will be visiting that will not cost the gouging prices that Disney is requiring from everyone. The merchandise is everywhere. I think they shortened up some of the rides example Pirates of the Caribbean seven minutes shorter then in the past years so they could get another store in there to sell more of their product it’s unbelievable how much greed has gone on from the time of 10 years ago that we were able to enjoy this to today.
The hotels around Disney have gotten so greedy themselves and are charging extra for every little thing parking your car $25 Per day even to take your luggage to your room is a charge. As far as we are concerned Disney is done for us there are much better places to visit for our children. Paid a lot of money for a very poor disappointing and very frustrating experience which really became very non-magical. 😣
I believe Disneys model should now Be if you do not plan six months in advance to hope to have some kind of Disney experience don’t bother coming and get your chequebook out because it’s going to cost you a lot more than what it’s worth. 😔

My husband and I came to Disney World in 1999 and we are back now - 7th till the 10th of January 2020. I must say that the experience is different altogether. It has become so commercial An ice cream is 6 dolars, 2 packets of crips and a one coke 10 dolars, 2 beers 22 dollars not to mention the food which portions are so small that you need to take 2 portions to be satisfied. It is not only the place which has changed but mainly the people who work here I had such a good sense of how happy and fortunate these people are working in a Disney park back in 1999, now the feeling is that they do not enjoy the job as much it is very visible! Some are even rude and some have false smiles. I am presently queing for the haunted mansion already for 1.5hrs and this is because people who have fast passes keep going in in 100s the ratio is surely 100 is to 1.I complained to the employee who was selecting and she replied in a very rude expression 'this is a line and you are meant to wait!' I cannot understand why they introduced fast passes. If you are coming here make sure you book the most popular rides from 90 days before. It is impossible to see all the park meaning do all the rides, see all the shows in one day and mind you I am talking about Magic Kingdom alone!Europeans spend a lot of money to come here and the frequent visitors get all the beat rides!
Another situation is that the security outside the park do not know directions on the first day one of them wasted 2.5 hours of our time because of misdirections. We wanted to go to Animal Kingdom and instead of guiding us towards the car park where we could have taken a Disney bus he sent us to one of the resorts and we had to walk for 20 minutes to get one of their shuttles. Another incident occured yeaterday, we took the cable car from Hollywood Studios going to Epcot to get our hotel shuttle bus, when we arrive the pyrotechnical show at Epcot was 2 minutes from finishing and she told us that we have to go through Epcot and waste 1 day pass! She sent us on a boat which she said was for Magic Kingdom and if I hadn't asked,we would have gone to one of the Disney hotels and there would have been no choice as to take a taxi! Instead the captain of the boat said that when the park is closed we can pass to the shuttle busses area freely! The experience altogether was not the same and it is very very tiring and when I am back in Malta I will write about this in detail

Have visited Disney total of 9 times and for the last 5 years every year. They put the entrance fees up each each but it seems to be getting worse for wait times and service. In the 3 weeks we went we tried 4 times to do the park, each time was absolutely rammed past capacity with some rides over 3 hours wait, with two children it’s not viable. Car park has gone up again from last year, it was $20 start of October and $25 by the end, this year it was $26 and a cast member informed us it would be over $30 by middle of 2020. Unlike universal if you arrive late afternoon they don’t offer any discount or free parking so if you wish to go for the fire works around 9pm until 10:30 it will cost you $26+ around 3 hours getting in and out. It used to be a magical place but now its just a frustrating place. Castle & fireworks on Christmas night where amazing i must admit.

What ever happened to the old saying "You get what you pay for?" Not at Disney any more. The cost of tickets keep going up - about 30% of the last 8 years. The cost of parking keeps going up from $14.00 to $25.00 and there's a rumor that it's going up to $30.00 this summer. Parking use to be free at ALL Disney resorts and now they charge you to park at their hotels. The cost of food and water in the parks is off the grid. $3.50 for a bottle of water and you can buy a case of 24 bottles at any box store for the same price. The few water fountains they have doesn't have cold water and the water in central Florida is full of sulfur and stinks to high heaven. Yet, thousands and thousands of tourists keep coming to this magical place and the lines for rides keep getting longer and longer. The rides keep breaking down causing tourists to seek the few rides that are still operating. The new ride at Hollywood Studios "Rise of the Resistance" broke down within an hour on the day it opened! My family and I have spent thousands of dollars on many trips over the last decade but it's time to find a new destination to truly enjoy a family vacation.

We have annual passes, so this cost us nothing other than lunch money and gas fare, but we were disappointed by our Magic Kingdom experience on February 24, 2020. It took about 30 minutes to get through the parking queue, then another 15 minutes to ride the Monorail to Magic Kingdom. You can't access MK directly; you have to use the Monorail or the ferry.
Strollers are everywhere, and many of them are so big they block sidewalks or other access points. It's not unusual to see parents pushing two children who are 7-10 years of age in strollers, oblivious that this creates problems for everyone else, not to mention teaching the children to be lazy.
The Disney World app failed us at several points. One dining venue encouraged mobile orders. After filling out the order and providing a credit card, the app concluded by saying the site wasn't accepting mobile orders! I was standing in front of the MOBILE ORDERS sign at the time.
Several attractions were having technical problems. Pirates of the Caribbean kept going down. When we arrived at Haunted Mansion, we were told it had just gone down too, with no ETA. The app sent us a message suggesting alternatives, none of which interested us.
By this time, the park was so crowded, we finally gave up and left.
The last time we went to Magic Kingdom, we experienced similar problems, climaxed by the Monorail going down so the only way back to the parking lot was the ferry, which was a 45-minute queue.
Magic Kingdom Park admission prices can vary. Entrance tickets currently cost $169.34, while a popular guided tour starts around $481.60 per person.

Beautiful place. You will feel like a child again. We visited on Saturday and was very crowded. I would recommend getting a fast pass for all attractions if you do not want to spend 2 or 3 hours in line specially with small kids.

The show at 8:00 pm in front of the castle is gorgeous, very emotional.
