The Varsity Hotel & Spa

I had a really lovely and relaxing stay at the Varsity Hotel & Spa. From when I booked to when I checked out, I was looked after and made to feel special. The management team did a great job keeping me updated about my upcoming stay, by informing me of a local half marathon that was taking place on the day of check- in so I was better able to journey plan. When I did check-in was greeted with smiles, and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I was surprisingly upgraded which added to the experience. I stayed in a gorgeous, spacious room which had views overlooking the green common. Breakfast was delicious and the staff at Six Brassiere were friendly and polite. The spa was also wonderful and the treatments refreshing. I would highly recommend and plan on revisiting very soon.

My wife and I on a return visit to the Varsity. We booked very late to do last minute holiday shopping in Cambridge as the hotel location is excellent for this. We had a lovely welcoming at reception, and although we were rather early, and just intend to drop our bags, we were offered our room straight away, which was really useful. As we were checking in, Claudia at the reception saw that we were returning customers, and happened to have a room upgrade available that day. We were very pleased as the only room available on the booking agent website was below what we would normally request. The guy who was concierge for our luggage was brilliant, as the bags were checked in and out twice( our mistake) but he was lovely! The rooms are very clean, tidy and well maintained. We enjoyed a drink in the bar upstairs, before heading off to meet friends. On our return we visited the cocktail bar again, which was really busy, but service was quick and atmosphere was really good. A very good night’s sleep, as usual. I seriously cannot fault this hotel, and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a very central location. Thank you all, and we shall definitely see you again!👍

We had a very pleasant afternoon at the Spa, one of the best facials I have had, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend to complete your visit with the champagne afternoon tea in Six, with lovely views across the city.

Stayed at the Varsity for two nights with our children and had a fabulous time. The beds were comfortable, the staff helpful and the views from our room were wonderful. We ate at the River Bar which is attached to the restaurant and the steaks were delicious. We also had breakfast and afternoon tea at Six. The views from here are worth the trip alone, but the food was great and afternoon tea a lovely experience. The scones were excellent and the staff so hospitable. They made our children delicious drinks as an alternative to tea, which was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely time, on arrival there were petals on the bed and a complementary happy anniversary cake which was a nice touch. We paid for early check in and arrived slightly early but room was still ready. We used the valet parking which was an extra charge and very efficient and worthwhile as there isn’t parking nearby. We dined at Six at had a great experience, food and service was good. Breakfast the next day was good and served in the rooftop restaurant with great views of Cambridge Staff throughout the hotel were efficient and friendly. The hotel is also well located for Cambridge sights. Would definitely select the hotel again for another stay.

Fantastic room Spa gorgeous Food excellent Would stay again and looking at summer to bring my kids to do punting and use the roof terrace. Breakfast looking over Cambridge was beautiful my wife and I can’t speak highly enough of the hotel and staff

Short stay in Cambridge and stayed at the Varisty. Lovely hotel in centre of Cambridge. Great location and easy to find. Very spacious room, helpful and professional staff. I would stay again. Visited the Steakhouse which I highly recommend too.

Had a weekend away in Cambridge and I must say the Varsity was an excellent choice. The room was outstanding as was the service from everyone we met during our stay. We visited the Spa, the bar and the restaurant and all exceeded our expectations. We will be back

I was in Cambridge to do my PhD viva and I could not have had a more wonderful, peaceful, and calming stay at the Varsity. My room was upgraded and it was beautiful with a stunning bath. I had a massage at the spa, ate in the wonderful restaurant, then relaxed with a bath. The bed was extremely comfortable and no detail was overlooked. The staff were friendly and helpful at every opportunity. I would recommend anyone needing a night in Cambridge to stay at the beautiful Varsity!

The hotel has an excellent location. The roof bar and restaurant are cozy and with a good selection of food and beberages. The room was very clean and most importantly, its staff are very friendly and corteous. I recommend this hotel without doubts.
