Show more...Simply a stunning hotel with an excellent location. The staff in the hotel were all excellent. A special mention for Concierge Jurgen the Aussie. He was amazing, chatty, knowledgeable and friendly. Michael on reception was also very kind and helpful. The breakfast was probably one of the best we have had in a hotel. Valet parking a bit pricy, but, very handy to have your car available. If we return to Cambridge - w will stay here without doubt
Show more...Good Points: Hotel very comfortable and clean. Breakfast amazing. Bad Points: £30 for overnight Parking (Even for Blue Badge Holders), ran out of basic drinks at the bar (Even Bottled Water) and air con in the room is so noisy it kept me up most of the night. No toilet brush... Why? Bizarre. Wouldn't return unfortunately.
Show more...The room was cold as the heating was broken. The food was dreadful, cold and not of good quality. They use condiment sachets of which I feel is rather poor for a Hilton. The rooms are dated and considerably basic, even the tea and coffee in the room was only enough for one cup with offerings of ‘one’ complimentary biscuit that held two wafer thin oat biscuits. I received a booking.com message at 3:20am from the hotel asking what I should do on leaving. Now a message at 3:20am while I am still using the hotel is quite frankly unacceptable. To that end, I spoken with the receptionist and got a refund on the food and drinks, for that I am thankful. However, I do feel that future guests should think twice if they think they are getting the Hilton service that we expect.
Show more...Stayed at the hotel for one night. Bedrooms good size with two double beds in my room. The bathroom modern with a bath/shower combination. Television was very large and had Freeview channels. Had a kettle with free tea bags, coffee, biscuits etc. Two free bottles of water within the room. Hotel car parking is high at £30 per night. No EV charging available which was a shame. The restaurant is located next to the bar area, food is between £16 - £30per main meal although if a hotel resident you get 20% off your meals, which is then cracking value. There are restaurants and bars within walking distance. The breakfast is a good selection choice of hot food. There is live music on the piano on the evening in the bar area. Lots of workout spaces if required to use your laptops. The free internet at the hotel is very good on the signal strength. Staff very helpful and friendly. The only thing when you check in they require a £50 deposit on your personal card.
Show more...Extremely disappointed- towels that were on the floor/bath being folded and placed back as they are clean is not acceptable of any hotel. Then they get very surprised that I am requesting that all towels are changed. From this experience I could had been using towels used by a previous guest and do not know- very disgusting of any hotel but from a 4 star hotel is really the worse. The location and breakfast are good but cannot recommend and will never get back.
Show more...Checking in: long wait. Single person at the front desk on a long phone call. Jet lagged & tired had to wait 10 minutes before another front desk staff appeared to check us in. After check in: Old, confused layout of building. Long walk with suitcases through zig zagging corridors to finally reach a freezing room. I understand environmental friendliness, energy conservation etc; but it took an hour for the room to heat & we were sitting with jackets on. Front desk: never answers phone - have to repeatedly call - they always cite ‘busy periods’. I was even told by the front desk person that it is rude to answer a phone when people are checking in! My response was that it is rude to ignore a checked in guest, repeatedly. Besides we had to wait a long time for check in as your solitary staff was on the phone. She had no response to that. Room service for food: you scan the menu & try to order but the website doesn’t work! You call the front desk repeatedly for 1/2 hr & finally someone picks up the phone. They transfer you to the restaurant to order food, where again, nobody picks up! Finally it is transferred back to the front desk who, thankfully respond & take your order. At this point you are ready to give up! Noisy: very noisy room above the bar. You call the front desk to complain hoping someone will pick up eventually & answer positively - not typical of UK i.e “it will eventually reduce at some point. We cannot really change your room as we are fully booked!”Lo & behold - maybe on Santa’s good list - we were pleasantly surprised by a friendly Indian staff member who moved us to a quieter room. Hence I will update my stars to 2 instead of 1, even though the Ac/ heater was noisy 😳 Room Amenities: needed an iron. Even though it was nowhere, the front desk insisted we check. Again the interminable number of calls to reach someone where I insisted that the iron was nowhere to be found and no, it was not locked in the safe 😁 They finally send housekeeping with a shower curtain?! Again a phone call - I almost fell down when they answered on the first ring - & they send a non-working iron. Again several phone calls to the front desk to have it replaced with a working iron. Location: location! Location! location! Otherwise I don’t see myself ever staying here. More Date of stay: December 2023

We loved the Christmas atmosphere there was a nice piano lady playing beautifully in the evening. And the hotel location is excellent!

We arrived for a 2 night stay & there was a slight queue for the valet parking which we had pre booked, not really an issue . The concierge/receptionist ( lady) came out & spoke to to us & was really pleasant and informed us what was happening. Checked in warmly by a friendly girl at reception, added breakfast and was then offered a glass of Prosecco- lovely touch. We stayed on 2nd floor in a king room. Room was clean and felt fresh, complimentary bottled water in room, tea tray with coffee machine. Fridge , iron , hairdryer and safe. We had room service ordered through the qr code. This was the only thing that let it down whilst the food was good the wait wasn’t, online it said 30 minutes, we waited an hour + which was slightly disappointing as we were going out for a show & felt rushed . Breakfast good and greeted by a lovely Japanese lady who showed us to a table . Selection good , although would have liked more yoghurt choice as there were only 2 , also maybe keep the utensils for veggie stuff in with the hot veggie food as guest were using the same for both. ( just a suggestion) . Checkout was quick and easy done by a lovely girl who asked us how our stay was and offered us a chocolate box treat as it was Mother’s Day- lovely touch . Went to concierge who quickly delivered the car. All in all we had 2 lovely nights , slept well bed super comfy. The friendly attentive staff make the hotel . So thank you to all 🫶
