Show more...Recommended by a friend who stayed here last year, we were 6 friends visiting IWM Duxford & Cambridge for a few days. The hotel was spotless, welcoming & our rooms were comfortable and quiet at back of the hotel. Modern equally spotless bathrooms. Very good breakfasts & a cozy bar downstairs. The car park at the rear is a huge bonus as easy to walk into historic Cambridge. All the staff friendly & efficient. Highly recommended
Show more...This is a pleasant hotel, conveniently located, with free onsite carpark. It’s been recently refurbished, and our rear-facing quiet, stylish modern deluxe twin was excellently maintained, spotlessly clean (as is the whole hotel), well-equipped with Smart TV, ample storage, iron/board, safe, good lighting, and a sparkling sleek bathroom. The beds, with good quality linen, were comfortable. There’s no continental breakfast option, but a good choice (including veggie) of cooked-to-order fare, cereals, juice, fruit, all nicely presented, and with exemplary service. At reception, the older of the two guys checked us in with efficiency, friendliness and helpfulness. The city centre is walkable from the hotel. For example, it took us just 20 minutes to the Market Square and King’s College, and the railway station is literally just round the corner. Two minor niggles which can easily be addressed. The pillows were very flat, and not of the usual hotel-quality plumpness. The manager didn’t have access to housekeeping who were off duty by the time we arrived; such items should be more accessible to reception staff. Secondly, the hospitality tray (for what was an upgrade room) was basic. It could be more generous; for example, a couple of bottles of water and some biscuits would have enhanced it. We would definitely stay here again.
Show more...I have to say that this cosy hotel is delightful. We stayed there for 3 nights recently, as my husband was having an operation at the nearby Nuffield Hospital. We were checked in by one of the owners, who was welcoming and friendly and gave us lots of information about the area. The rest of the staff were lovely too during our stay and very accommodating. It was also one of the most spectacularly clean hotels I have ever stayed in. The bedding was crisp and white and the room was so clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfy too, I slept like a log. The food was lovely, and again the tables were laid out to perfection with lovely white cotton tablecloths and napkins etc. the hotel was perfectly located close to all the amenities. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Show more...A comfortable stay in a pleasant room. High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. Impressed by the breakfast as well, wide choice of options, nicely presented and prompt service. Will return here when back on business.
Show more...My wife and I have been customers of this delightful family-run hotel for 30-years. It is located within easy walking distance of the railway station, the shops and the colleges. A freshly cooked 'full English' breakfast is included in the very reasonable room rate and the rooms themselves are extremely comfortable, but it is the friendly, ever helpful staff that make the hotel what it is, the best value for money hotel in Cambridge.
Show more...Lovely hotel in a very good location, very clean comfortable room and the staff were lovely. The breakfast was excellent and lovely and hot. We will most certainly stay again next time we visit Cambridge . We would recommend this hotel.

Show more...Very handy for the station and Botanical Gardens. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Rooms very clean and very comfortable but as the bed is set under the eaves in the attic rooms, you just need to be careful of your head when getting in and out of bed.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, which was a sightseeing break and a bit if time out with family. Very friendly staff, they could even remember our room numbers when we returned. Reminded me of some of the wondeful B&B's I used to stay at years back. There's a small bar next to the restaurant in the basement which is open from 6pm and some comfortable and quiet seating areas where we congregated and browsed through old family photos. Despite my concern about driving all the way to Cambridge and struggling to park, the hotel had a fair sized car park at rear and when we visited it was rarely more than half full. Rooms were very clean, a small TV, a kettle and a good amount of coffee sachets, tea bags and milk pods. The bathroom had a nice deep bath with a removeable shower head on a riser with good flow.
