Gonville Hotel

I booked for my parents to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary. I chose the Gonville because the staff are well-trained and I knew they would receive excellent service. They had an absolutely wonderful stay and I would like to thank the whole team for making their stay so special.

Really impressed by the Gonville! We stayed for two nights in a super double room with our 18 month old, which was plenty big enough and really nice. Staff across every part of the hotel were lovely and really accommodating. Breakfast was really nice, great choice of hot food and continental choices. We made good use of the hotel bar which was also a good experience on both nights. Really fab stay, glad we chose here!

Excellent hotel. Good location to explore the city. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable room with coffee maker and tea. Well equipped and nice toiletries. Able to park at the hotel (£26 per night). Went for a chauffeur driven ride (45 mins) round the city in the hotel Bentley with Zane and he was excellent. Breakfast good.

The room was beautiful with lovely finishing touches, staff attentive and friendly. Huge comfy bed. Just a shame to hear the banging of doors first thing in the morning, maybe some soft closings would be beneficial?! Will definitely be back again though as great location and it really is beautiful.

The staff were extremely professional and made us feel so special. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with plenty of space . Car parking is easily accessed with not too far to access the hotel. Inside, the decor is very luxurious with beautiful seating areas. We had a lovely time.

Wonderful stay at The Gonville Hotel. Our room was upgraded and excellent customer care. Had a drink in the bar in the evening and there was a pianist and celloist playing creating a lovely atmosphere. Perfect location. Felt like a really special weekend away. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Good location for city sightseeing. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean if a little small. Continental breakfast not good value with limited choice on buffet bar and coffee nothing special. Complimentary tour of Cambridge area was a welcome addition. Charging £26 a day for on site parking for guests a bit steep......

What a wonderful time we had!! I felt so special! We were greeted by such friendly reception staff. We even had champagne and chocolates in our room!!!! You guys spared no effort!!! Breakfast was amazing, such a selection and great quality. We will deffo be back!!! And dog friendly! Wonderful hotel and yes even better staff. Should be proud x

The Gonville is in a good location, as it is within walking distance of many of the interesting sights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and lovely duvet. The breakfast could have been better. My full English was not cooked well however my husband had eggs benedict, which was well prepared and which he enjoyed. There were few choices of fruit and yogurt and no pastries, which I would have liked. We went on a Bentley tour, which was a great end to our trip. The driver was very friendly and gave lots of interesting information during the drive. I feel the Gonville is a bit overpriced but is a nice choice for a stay in Cambridge.

The Gonville Hotel has a luxury bar, dining room, and breakfast area. On first appearance it looks amazing, but sadly it ends there. The room we stayed in had the most disgusting black mould mark under the rim of the toilet. (103) The heating was not working and the air con kept coming on by itself and the fan in bathroom was noisy. I have seen previous complaints about these issues, obviously not dealt with. At breakfast no used cereal bowls were removed before our cooked breakfast came it really needs staff training. Overall no where near worth the price they are charging for a night.
