We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in room 4 which was super clean, had a huge comfy bed and a lovely view of the Minster. Delicious breakfast hamper and loved that you could choose whether to have it in the guest lounge or delivered to your room. Complimentary drinks and sweet treats in the lounge was also a lovely touch. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Spent New Years Eve in this lovely property. We stayed in room 6, a spacious family room, 2 single beds and a large four poster double. Decor was very well thought out. It’s the small personal touches that make this place stand out. A hamper for our NYE stay and breakfast, a celebratory drink and mince pie, great range of toiletries, generous tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk available from the fridge in the lobby. Just perfect. We’ll be back. Thank you ❤️

Yet another fabulous stay. Our 3rd time staying here and cannot recommend enough. Have already booked for next December for our annual December trip to York. We came back 2 of our 3 nights early to enjoy the comfort and coziness of our room after being out in the cold and wet walking the city. Thank you for another amazing stay! Cannot wait for the next!

We recently had a short break in York for the Christmas Market and stayed at this excellent establishment. It is ideally situated to explore the city on foot and would be perfect for a city break whatever the time of year. The staff are friendly, attentive and efficient and our room ( 7 ) was spacious with a large comfy bed and fantastic en-suite shower room. The help yourself tea and coffee facilities in the lounge were a very welcome feature as were the little “goodies” left in our room ! Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the hosts are to be highly complimented on their first class guest-house.

Have just spent two nights staying here in room 3 (superior). The room was clean, and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The room itself and the bathroom were small but ok. In the communal area on the ground floor, they are going for a shabby chique look. Breakfast was good (pre ordered) and delivered in a basket to look after yourself. Personally, I did not like this, but I understand that other guests might love it. In all, we had a good stay, but I am left feeling overall not great value for the money paid. The hotel location is perfect, and car parking was pre-arranged, and there were no issues.

So many goodies in the room and in the guest house to enjoy. Small, odd shaped rooms make sense in a historic building but can be challenging to navigate. Breakfast in bed was delivered as promised and was excellent! Our only challenge was related to the reserved parking we had requested well in advance. There were no spots available when we arrived (a construction dumpster was taking up 2 of the spots) so we ended up parking in the main lot right next door. There was no one available when we checked in but all materials were available, and there was plenty of communication in advance to let us know how to check in. Although a phone number was provided for any issues, we were unable to reach anyone about our parking issue as we could not make an international call and received no reply to email or text. The parking fee was promptly removed at check out the next morning. We very much enjoyed our stay and all the extra little touches in the guest house. It's very well located and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

I chose this based on other reviews its location to city centre and railway station both within 10 minutes walk plus its homely look. Being a small guesthouse you get a personal experience with being able to speak to the managers who were more than happy to chat with you. You walk into the dining/lounge area where you eat for breakfast or sit in the sofas for tea or mulled wine on offer with other nice touches. Our room was the Superior Minster View which housed a huge bed and walk in shower, with toiletries on offer. Breakfast can also be chosen to be delivered to your room with plenty on offer. Our room was at the front of the building which did attract a little bit of road noise but I'm nit picking here.

What a wonderful quirky place. The decor was amazing and it was clear a lot of care and thought has been put into the accommodation and for visitors. It was so refreshing to see that things such as tea/coffee/refreshments/toiletries were not "skimped"on, like in many other places. The accommodation was reasonably priced, particularly since breakfast was included. Good choice for breakfast and service was great too. The room was fantastic- very comfortable and warm. Great beds with good quality bedding and soft furnishings. Everything you need for a pleasant stay. Great location les than 5 minutes walk to town centre. I would absolutely stay here again.

What an amazing guesthouse! The communication is exceptional, before arriving we received a comprehensive e-mail including directions to parking and walking directions from the train station. On arriving the shared room is cosy and inviting just as pictured. Everything you need to find your room is awaiting you in a labelled envelope. The room was spacious, spotless and viking themed which we loved. There were a generous offer off teas, coffee and sugar and a chocolate snack. We were astounded when extra chocolate was left even though we hadn't eaten the previous days, as I say very generous. The bathroom was modern and again spotlessly clean and the toiletries were full size (not the silly miniatures you receive in hotels) and smelt gorgeous. The guesthouse is so quiet which was great for me, I'm a very light sleeper and the bed so comfortable. I've read that someone complained about the temperature in their room, we we had zero issue, you control your own radiators, so warm the room to suit. As for the breakfasts they are mouthwatering! By far my favourite was the granola yogurt and berry. The sausage/ bacon or both baps are delicious and the bag of pastries lush! Oh,almost forgot, if you are a sweet tooth there are sweeties all around the guesthouse if you need a sugary treat. We couldn't have asked for a better location either, quite literally within 5-10 minutes walk of everywhere of significance if you are sightseeing. Minster walk guest house is nothing short of perfect! Anyone saying otherwise is either nitpicking or experiencing exceptional circumstances. We loved our stay and the team were marvelous! Thank you all for a wonderful trip to York.
