It was incredible stay in so aesthetic boutique hotel The Harrison Chambers of Distinction. Our room was named by famous Irish singer Ruby Murray. I am in love with interior and details of the room, such a masterpiece with large windows, comfortable bad and cozy bath in the middle of the room. Breakfast was so delicious! I wish to be back to The Harrison Chambers of Distinction soon with my friends and discover Belfast together.

This was a most fabulous and completely bonkers hotel. The reception bell was a large eight legged silver gilt rather menacing crab; there was a huge black octopus hanging in front of a golden framed distressed mirror plate, and the wallpapers were engaged in a small riot. Glorius chandeliers were dressed in black lace and a side lamp was affixed to the grinning brass head of a monkey. Another octopus, smaller, spread it’s golden tentacles over the hat and umbrella stand besides the door. Alarming portraits adjourn the walls and there’s a wide horizontal mirror with rude words engraved into the plate. My breakfast pots of Earl Grey were served in quirky teapots from the owners extensive and eccentric collection of teapots that are found on display in the hotel bar. The rooms are themed; the Bronte room for a turbulent romantic weekend; the Samul Becket room for a bit of drama, the Yeats room or the Seamus Heany room with poetry for breakfast, the Van Morrison room for those dark nights of the soul and a C.S. Lewis room with rather a large wardrobe. One room that might be missing is a padded cell! I have travelled to far and distant places, a hundred or more hotels that all fade away into the bog standard and generic and are soon forgotten. You will not forget the Harrison Hotel! It will stay with you long after you leave, you will always, with great affection, recall it’s bonkers character. You may have stayed in many hotels some of them quite friendly but you are unlikely to ever have experienced the warmth of the welcome at Harrisons. You may have stayed in hotel rooms with Smart, flat screen, multi channel satellite TV’s. There are no TV’s in any of the Harrisons rooms, and if they did have TV’s then they would probably be 1954 models showing only black and white documentaries about bohemians and surrealism. In the Belfast taxi on our way to the Railway station and home I remarked to the taxi driver that a hundred years ago the owner of the Harrison might have been publically burned at the stake as a witch. “She might still be” he replied, and we laughed with the joy of it all for we had been caught by the magic of the spell of the hotel Harrison.

Stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. Firstly the staff , who were all really friendly and helpful. Our room was at the back of the hotel overlooking a rather ugly area. A blind would have been nice as the room could be overlooked. It was small, but comfortable. The bathroom also small was adequate for our needs with a good shower. There was a nice bar area where breakfast was also served. The hotel is in the queen’s quarter, nice and quiet, but an easy bus ride into the centre. This is a quirky small hotel which I would recommend for a stay in the friendliest city of Belfast

Just returned from a lovely 4 night stay at The Harrison. We loved the quirkiness of this hotel. The location was great for us right opposite the Botanical gardens and a 15-20 minute walk in to the centre of Belfast. There is a bus in to town right outside if you don’t want to walk. Check in was immediate, our room (VanMorrison) was ready. After a quick cup of tea we settled in. The room was cosy and fine for our needs. Lovely bed and shower. No TV in the room which was a bonus for us !! Breakfast was continental with eggs cooked if you wanted them - again fine for us. The stand out for us was the lovely staff. Every single one of them was so friendly and helpful. They booked our tours for us and nothing was too much trouble. Very good value for money. We are hoping to go back but will probably book one of the suites next time.

What can I say about The Harrison that I have not said before or that others have said?! Amazing, fabulous, welcoming, unique…the list of positive adjectives and verbs could go on and on.Melanie and her team are super hosts.Nothing is too much trouble. All is done with a smile and a positive attitude .The cupcakes were an unexpected but a very welcome surprise for my birthday. I slept so well in The Ruby Murray Suite and enjoyed listening to the songbird herself on the record player in the room which has a selection of different LPs to choose from such as Van Morrison and Horslips. The whole atmosphere at the weekend was like being at a house party in a grand house something you won’t get anywhere else in Belfast. Cheers to Melanie and the team and we will definitely be back.

The rooms are always so enchanting and cosy, with excellent ensuite facilities and beautiful products from Field Day. The staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming. It's all very relaxed. I throughly enjoyed my meat cheese platter which was a bargain with a free glass of wine! But perhaps my favourite part of staying at The Harrison is the unexpected conversations, company and craic you have with fellow guests or passers by. A truly unique and exceptional place to stay in such a convenient location.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful and included as we booked direct so this made it fantastic value. Quirky decor with lovely bathrooms. We needed two solo rooms for 1 night and it was so nice they had the smaller room option as that’s so hard to find elsewhere and all we needed. A boutique hotel rather than a chain which was just what we wanted. I’ll definitely return.
