We found this hotel on the Internet and we're delighted that we did. The staff are friendly and helpful the hotel is modern and very welcoming. Our room was lovely with a courtyard patio and the cleanliness of the room and throughout the hotel was exceptional. We had dinner in Tykes restaurant where the food was very good served by friendly staff. We will certainly return.

We arrived here after leaving another local hotel due to cleanliness concerns and wow! The whole place is stunning. The entrance, the rooms, the view - just beautiful. The room we were in was very spacious, clean and light. It was beautifully decorated too. The bed was comfy and warm. The rooms also had heating or air con. The television was very modern too so we were able to chromecast things onto it when we arrived back at the room. The staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast (add on £15 PP) was wonderful - well worth the money!! We are already planning our next trip here.

If you’re thinking of booking the hotel do it you will NOT be disappointed. Room was very clean everything you need & the view was breathtaking. Everyone we came into contact with was very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was delicious & so much to choose from the granola is a must to try. We have 2 nights in suite and a family room too. On arrival we were made to feel welcome. The staff were most helpful. The room was tastefully furnished and comfortable. Our stay included breakfast and a sizeable contribution to our evening meal at the adjacent restaurant, The Tykes. The whole surroundings and service made our anniversary that much more special. Thank you to all members of staff.

Went for a wedding and stayed overnight. Food - breakfast and meals good. Room was fine but clearly not been used for a while. Shame not informed the lift was not working in the function venue at any time during our stay, especially since we booked an accessible room.

We’ve just had a wonderful one-night stay at Sandburn Hall! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and so peaceful and calm. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. We had to change our booking last minute because my father was ill and they did all that they could to move the booking at no extra cost, we really did appreciate it. The rooms are beautiful, stylish, really comfortable and clean and manage to combine luxury with a warm, home-from-home feel. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast too at the adjoining Tykes restaurant - excellent value for money with a vast array of things to choose from. We loved drinking coffee by the fire as well after our three-course evening meal with one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time! The building and atmosphere is lovely. We actually live locally to the hotel and often come and enjoy coffee in the lovely lounge area of the hotel. We have always found the staff warm, helpful and very friendly and so it was a real treat to be able to stay for my mum’s birthday. We highly recommend it and would love to stay again!

I had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful hotel for a couple of days. The place is immaculate, excellent food and incredibly friendly staff. Very competitively priced with a fine selection of food and drinks. Carl and his colleagues on the front desk are a credit to the place. Highly recommended.

Stay was 10/2/24 for wedding of my nephew.all went well great space staff organised food good, but the acoustics in the actual space where food was served and speeches made hearing our fellow guests and serving staff was intolerable It was not possible to engage in conversation with anyone on your table apart from the person on either side of you , people across the table could have been on the moon.

Not a standard golf resort and not somewhere that really only welcomes golfers. Also a great place for a wedding and wedding reception. I was there for just a few days away but did not want to stay in York and was pleased that I had chosen here when I arrived. It is situated to the east of York and so well positioned for visiting there and also not too far from the coast with a National Trust premises also not too far away. They do cater for families but that is not a main reason for their existence so although one day I had several (unruly) children running about at a wedding they were not staying overnight, so no problem. The food is reasonable and plentiful and although not top-class type food it was certainly what I needed for Breakfast and Dinner (going out and about during the day), but you could have lunch in the golf clubhouse which I did the day I arrived. I did not get to see everything in the area so will certainly return if I go back for more visits!
