Very dangerous place for young European women. Be extremely careful and avoid at all costs. The men working in the bars were extremely forceful and inappropriate. We were violated by numerous men. Our drinks also had cheap vodka and tasted weird. Very upsetting experience.

Before writing my own review I've read other stories and decided to make an agree\disagree mini-report. So let us start:
I agree:
It is real touristic must have
It is more than noisy
It is overwhelmed by intoxicated people
Prises are real rob - 5$ for bottled water generally priced 0.59-0.75 turkish lira in a very dirty place (Special hello to Beach Bum club or whatever it is called)

A set of prostitutes and marijuana all around killed my natural curiosity so that I didn't dare to come back to discover places as Arena Club or smth alike. I still believe they stand out of all the nasty stuff I've seen.

I do not judge it but you shuold know for sure why you do go there!
Have fun, dear travellers!

We walked through bar street a few times in the early evening just to see what all the fuss is aboutwould never contemplate doing it late in the night lol! During the day it is a quite a pretty street which is a shame because the whole area around the castle is steeped in history and yet they spoil it by sticking these godawful, overly expensive, crime and drug filled bars right in the thick of it. It would be better if the authorities moved the bars to the outskirts like Ibiza night clubsthen i'm sure the area could be made more tourist friendly than what it is

This place bar street, opens around 10pm till 6am, dont go unless you have a turkish friend who can go with you, holiday makers and tourists get charged up to three times more than you would at the beach front bars, drinks get spiked, and holiday makers have been known to be attacked.
it is also a very narrow dingy street, dont spoil your holiday, stick to the beachfront bars.

The night out is fun. Drinks can be cheap if you haggle with the guys trying to pull you into their clubs. The club's are awesome and big with a LARGE selection of drinks.

If you ask your entertainment staff at your hotel you maybe able to get a buy one get one free or some sort of discount. As I love live music there was a small live music venue at the end of the street but I loved all the bars.
After the discounts though, it can get little pricey so remember to either pre drink or bring a few bit of money with you.

Not into night clubbing but as I was here on holiday with loads of people talking about the " Famous Bar street strip " I had to go and have a look to see if it met my expectations .

Me and my mate went in at about 12am into " Club Arena " the worlds biggest roof less club . We was really enjoying watching the lasers and flames etc whilst being ripped off for drinks . But was expecting that anyway . Approx £6 for a small bottle of Efes beer . Mega rip off of the cocktails .

Waiter goes and gets you your drinks . Then you pay them. Then the Waiters would hang around until we gave them a tip . But don't be pressured into doing it. Just pay for your drinks and don't give them anything else. Drinks are a rip off as it is .

After an hour we went out to give our ear drums a rest and go for a wander round . But nothing took our fancy so decided would go back into " Club arena " ( the main club along the street ) for one last drink . But we was REFUSED entry because we didn't have a woman with us ..

Not sure why they do that .

Avoid the place as it's a long way to come from various hotels in Marmaris and then to be refused entry Save your money and go to other lively bars along the sea front where you won't be ripped off .

On a family holiday, my brother, sister and I had heard of this street, so we decided to have a wonder one evening. We get dragged into a bar (shebar or something) on the promise that they will discount the drinks for us. We leave, go to a few more places, then call it a night. On the way out of the street, we pass the original bar, again they say discount drinks. We said no, but he final price was so low it made sense to stay for one last beverage. We pay the man who pulled us into the bar. 5 minutes later the manager comes over and shouts at us accusing us of not paying. Not only had we already paid, but we were still drinking the drinks! I get up to go to the toilet, when he follows me. I come out, and next thing I know he's punched me, grabbed my collar and head butted me. Without going into detail, I was a mess, and was rushed to hospital, then taken to the police station to make statements. This all cost me over £300, and all because the manager wanted more money! Avoid this place, or at the very least this bar. Disgusting and vile. This is the Facebook page, so you can avoid this place . https://www.facebook.com/groups/496358813724812

Bar street in Marmaris for me was an interesting experience. At night - after everything has shut in Marmaris and Icmeler - a lot of the local workers will make their way to this beautiful street. So the locals join the tourists at Bar Street which gets most busy just after midnight.

From the perspective of the locals - the drinks are very expensive so the people whom live and work in Marmaris have told me that they can't afford the drinks or snacks on offer in any of the venues in Bar Street unless they are friends with the proprietors. Great many of the tourists also refrain from buying many drinks in any of the resident bars but make the most of their all inclusive deals prior to leaving the hotel.

There are also no such things as acoustic monitors or noise regulation in the whole of Marmaris. This means your ears and your general hearing health rests on the mercy of the resident DJ at the club. It can get so loud that, and this by no means is exaggerated, I visited Bar Street in Marmaris in June and we are about to enter the new year and my ears are still ringing.

Having said that - the actual architecture of Bar Street is beautiful. If you get a chance to visit it during the day you are in for a treat. You can speak to the local business owners and even make friends with them. You can actually experience the best thing that is available in Turkey and that is to enjoy a tea with the local and listen to their story while making a friend. The small cobbled street and the cute two or three floor buildings that run down both sides of Bar Street are amazing to behold.

However - if you are a lady - please be mindful that you will be approached a lot and may get tired of the seemingly never ending advances being made. Make sure you go as a group.
