Another mini archaeology museum I visited in Turkey. In Bursa it is special with collection of beautiful intact female figurines and three bronze statues of Athena, Apollo, and a boy carrying a dog :) Indeed very surprising for me as the beautiful statues are usually displayed in Anatolian Civilization Museum in Ankara.

Free of charge, located in serene area of Çekirge park. In the garden there are so many ancient craved stones I wish I could get one for my garden but of course it is forbidden to move even one stone!

I make sure to visit the archeology museum at every city I travel to and Bursa was no exception. But my visit turned out to be very disappointing not that the exhibit was poor but the museum management was awful.

The museum is located in a large park, there is a large free parking lot and the entrance is free.

The gardens of the museum are full of artifacts, very valuable ones but they are in such poor shape, all piled together, no explanatory notes, repair utensils here and there, cigarette buts everywhere, a real pity.

As for the inside, the exhibits are from the region, some of the findings are just breathtaking but the way they are displayed are both poor and old fashioned when compared with other archeological museums of Turkey.

There is no museum shop (just a souvenir vending machine) nor a museum cafe despite the fact there are plenty of space.

In short the museum’s exhibits are impressive but museum management is simply awful

I am truly surprised to find that nobody has reviewed this excellent museum and that not too many tourists happen to go there. Located in the beautiful Cultural Park of Bursa, it houses a great collection of findings from prehistoric times until Late Antiquity from the city and its surroundings. The museum has undergone a recent renovation, and its outdoor section of stone monuments is still closed to visitors. The halls isnide are spacious and well arranged. There is a pleasant numismatic area, as well as many showcases of grave findings from the Classical and Roman periods. The hall of Hellenistic and Roman marble sculptures is also fascinating, although some of the items lack proper description. On the groundfloor there is an impressive reconstruction of a rich Hellenistic burial: you can see the tomb with the skeleton and several grave goods, including a chariot. Unforturantely, no books or brochures for sale. The entrance fee is small and the museum is well worth the visit - in my opinion, one of the best options in Bursa's cultural life.

I spent hours here. The museum is in a lovely park and not crowded. There is plenty to see and do and just relax. The museum has english version of all the exhibits

We stayed in Bursa for less than a couple of days, but the visit to the Archaeological Museum was absolutely worth it. There are so many treasures inside you don't know where to begin. There is plenty of information but you tend to feel you want even more.

Turkey. What else can one say but WOAH!!!! Its steeped in ancient history, culture, arts, food.just amazing. This museum will leave you speechless!! The artifacts from a long ancient time, still intact or even broken down, but recovered and restored.just amazing to behold. This is one place not to be missed when in Turkey.
