Wanderlust Is Real

I was pleasantly surprised by the way the park was laid out and all the amazing and unique plants and flowers all around. If you have a few days in Bursa, give this park a whole day. A nice stroll followed by a nice lunch or dinner in one of the restaurants would make for a perfect romantic afternoon.

What a beautiful park with lots to see and do. It is right by the zoo so it is easy to make a day out of it by seeing both these sites. Inside the park there are plenty of playgrounds for kids and also opportunities to rent various styles of bikes to see even more while having fun in the process. The only disappointing thing is that unfortunately Turks are notorious for not taking care of their own parks. It is sad to see so much trash on the ground. The city workers do a tremendous job picking up after the locals but this should not be necessary. When we went there was no fee to enter the park.

Soğanlı Botanic Park is in the city but when you go in, you are out of the city. It's a picturesque area. Beautiful trees and sorts of plants and flowers. You can enjoy the fast food from the a few cafes inside but also just at the edge of the park, there are branches of a few famous restaurants of Bursa.
Bursa, being the first capital of Ottoman State, has an important position on Turkish cuisine. I recommend you to go to park, enjoy the view and nature and when you are hungry go to one of the restaurants just at the edge of the park.
Since restaurants are also very well and comfortably decorated, you may not to leave once you enter to one of them.

If you want to spend a peaceful day lonely or with your children/family, this is one of the best place in Bursa. Full of different kinds of trees and plants. You can ride a bicycle, have a picnic, or walk around the artificial mini lake. Especially in the spring the park appeals to your eyes and your senses.

SoganlI Botanik Park (a.k.a. Onion Botanical Park) covers about 400 acres along the north bank of Nulufir Stream and Avrupa Konseyi Blvd. The park was established in 1998. Formal areas include a Japanese Garden (serene), French Garden (formal), English Garden (flowery), rose garden (perfumed smells), rock garden (succulents), fragrant plants garden (delightful to the nose), the shaped plants garden (topiary) and duck pond (kid's favorite). There are 150 tree species, 27 kinds of roses, 76 shrub species and 20 species of cover plants, with paved walkways and park benches. The park is a good place for strolling, picnicking, running, bicycling, sports, or watching kids in the playground. Buildings in the park were built in 17-19th centuries architecture style, and blend tastefully into the landscape. There are several cafes and restaurants. Bicycles (including 4-wheeled types) can be rented. The best time to visit is in the spring, when there is a effusion of flowers and blossoming trees. It is less crowded in the cooler weather. Soganli Botanic Park, is adjacent to the zoo in west Bursa, and can be reached by public bus from the city center to the Soganli district. It is open every day with no entry fee (however, there is a paid parking lot).

What a lovely relaxing park this is. My friend Bursa had never visited it before. Peaceful and well laid out. My visit in October was the tail end of the flowers. For bird loves there are many species of birds in this park, stop a while and sit and you will see them. There is also a big children's playground and two people pedal 'bikes" that can be hired. I mustn't forget the ice cream stall, I had a blackberry ice cream, a flavour I haven't tried before but it was delicious. Take a picnic

A nice and large garden. It needs cleaning, espacially toilets because it is free. We had dinner at the Iskender Kebab inside the garden. An excellent restaurant. The restaurant has a small museum showing the history of the business.

I visited the park with my family on a sunny day mid of the week. The place was nicely laid out with nice colorful flowers. We enjoyed riding the bicycles across the park enjoying the fresh breeze and green grass. People were very friendly and we felt very safe and relaxed.
