This is not a huge exhibition but none the less fascinating, there is not much left of the castle itself but it is in lovely position and the exhibits and the artwork are well worth a visit
Show more...Well worth the visit. Full of military stuff right back to Waterloo. Very educational for anyone interested in Enniskillen Fusileers.
Show more...I visited the Inniskillings Museum seeking further information about my Grandfather who died in the 1st World War. The staff and volunteers were extremely helpful. The museum itself houses the history of the Inniskillings and is an eye-opener. Would recommend a visit.
Show more...This was an interesting stop. The staff was great at providing great details about the history of the castle but the actual castle was small and not much to see. The men in our group loved to see the hundreds (I mean hundreds of war metals).
Show more...On Easter Monday we went to Enniskillen Castle which was the family seat of the Maguires in Northern Ireland. The castlewhich has been in place for over 600 years contains some of the most important history of Enniskillen, the surrounding area and of course its strategic importance during the wars of past. The original castle was destroyed during the flight of the Earls and then later (1640) rebuilt to house the Governor General and his family.
Today it is a museum and houses military artifacts, a coffee house and an art gallery with ancient stones depicting saints. This is a fantastic day out. Allow for at least 2 to 3 hours to give you the time to see everything in all of the buildings.
This is a great tour for students to study history as well as for anyone interested in Irish history.
Fascinating history. My teenage son totally enjoyed his visit and didn't even know he was learning LOL.
Show more...A great way to find out about Fermanagh and the way we used to live.
Both adults and teenagers will find the tour interesting.
Lovely new premises with great staff.
The beautiful castle itself sits on the lake shore between the bridges of the only island town in Ireland. Within the grounds the museum houses a comprehensive collection of of historical objects and artifacts from the recently uncovered local neolithic crannog to interactive displays of more recent times. Very child friendly with something for everyone! And a great cafe!
Show more...Well worth a visit. Very informative.
Lots of memorabilia.
Lots of military medals and uniforms across several wars.

I have some military experience (not in UK forces) and found this place very interesting. The guide when we were there was fully up to speed and was clearly enjoying his work. A bit of experience made my visit more interesting.
