Beautiful 18th-century home set on a sustainable estate and gardens. Surrounded by lush parkland and thick woodland with Benaughlin mountain rising in the background, Florence Court enjoys a majestic countryside setting in West Fermanagh. There is something for everyone to enjoy at this extensive and welcoming place. On a guided tour of the Georgian mansion you can hear stories about the Cole family and their staff, who lived here for over 250 years. Outdoors take a gentle walk or long cycle along 10 miles of trails in the adjoining forest park and see fascinating industrial heritage features, including the water-powered sawmill and blacksmith's forge. The gardens are home to the mother of all Irish yew trees, as well as the kitchen garden which is being restored to its 1930s character.

On arrival around 4.30 the visitor centre staff were very unhelpful. We asked if we could visit the coffee shop for a quick coffee before it closed at 5.00 pm. They insisted we paid for a garden tour as house tours had finished which was fair enough. But on arrival at the coffee shop 4.45pm we were told coffee machine was being cleaned and coffee was not available. We said ok then we will take tea, the young girl looked at her watch and sighed. We had decided to leave without anything when a slightly older girl stepped in and said she could make us coffee from the other machine, We appreciated her help. We bought our coffee and buns and took it outside to the courtyard. Another party of 3 arrived and they were refused service and the staff literally closed the door in their face. I assume if you advertise that you are open until 5 that you serve until 5pm or just after? .

Florence court is beautiful. We went for the guided tour of the house which lasted roughly 45 mins and at £3 per person it is definitely worth it. The house is gorgeous and the tour guides are very informative.
We went to the cafe for tea/coffee and a sandwich. There was a good selection of sandwiches, crisps and tray bakes.
Unfortunately it was a miserable day when we visited so didn’t do the full walk of the gardens but we did make an effort to go and see the rose garden - beautiful!
It would be lovely to bring a picnic here on a nice day.

Florence court was beautiful, the kids really enjoyed the walks. However we were there Easter Sunday and so had to pay another £3 for each of our children on top of our admission, so that they could take part in an Easter trail. I just thought it was a bit steep considering we had already paid in and it was just 10 numbers popped in the grass that they checked off as we walked around.

The stable tearooms was also really disappointing. The coffee was from a machine, the sandwiches in packets, very little choice, just not what you’d expect from a National Trust property. But the grounds themselves were lovely.

A must if in the area!

There are Massive Yew trees here that are the descendants of all Irish yew trees found across the world.
Walled kitchen garden with many friendly volunteer gardeners keeping the place looking fantastic, we visited the cafe at the mansion and were the first guests to dine here after the pandemic lockdown ended.
The front of the mansion made for a great family picture with each family member between each column, and from here is a very impressive panorama with Cuilcagh mountain in the distance.
The blacksmith forge, the sawmill and the hydraulic ram (named a ram because when operational it would have sound like two rams clashing horns) were a great point of interest.
The woodland walk was very enjoyable with many hidden secrets - The well and the ha-ha wall

We spent the morning here and loved it. The grounds are well kept, the guided tour to the house itself is first-class - full of interest, well pitched and highly recommended. The old garden is being converted into a national collection of Irish apples. All staffed by National Trust volunteers who really know their stuff and are so so friendly. Enjoyed every minute.

We were spending a few days in Enniskillen and after exploring the town and surrounding area we decided to travel to Florence Court and check out the place. Un due to the covid restrictions the house was not open to the public but the gardens and grounds were open to the public and its a very interesting place to visit. We checked out the walled Garden and then the outside of the house before walking around the property to see the other buildings like the Sawmill and servant quarters. It would have been nice to see inside the main building and all the history of the building which is impressive to see.

Eve was fantastic as a guide, very knowledgeable and very willing to answer questions informatively!

Very disappointed not to get upstairs to see the bedrooms. Covid was cited as the reason but this was clearly an excuse. We weren’t allowed to touch anything anyway. We were encouraged to use the banister when we went down to the basement as we were told the banister was sanitized. Why couldn’t the banister to the upstairs be sanitized too? Then there was no covid risk.

If half of the tour isn’t along place, it should be made clear at payment so people can make an informed decision to whether to proceed!

We had a delightful visit to Florence Court, where we walked from the parking lot to the house while detouring through a vast, partially walled, garden. The blooms were brilliant and there was an interesting array of vegetables and plants growing there. Not to mention, several types of roses.

We stopped into the Stables Tea Room, which held quite a collection of delicious looking tray bakes as well as sandwiches, should one be interested. We had secured a house tour time from the visitor center near the parking lot, and we had just enough time to have a scone and cuppa prior to the beginning of the tour.

Once again, this was a private tour, and was quite lengthly with a wealth of information being presented by the guide as we walked through a good portion of the house. There had been a fire in the residence, shortly after electricity was added in the 1950's, but the National Trust did an excellent job repairing the home to its original glory.

There are several walking paths on the grounds, and, of course, the beautiful garden to enjoy as well.

Very much enjoyed our visit to Florence House. The house is stunning. Great to see so many original pieces of art, furniture and photographs of the family. The contrast between upstairs and downstairs recall brought the whole history of the house together. Our tour guide, Anne, was very friendly and knowledgeable. If you're in the area I'd highly recommend a visit.
