Show more...Visited on a Mon-Fri stay as a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids ages 4 and ). We stayed in a gold caravan. First time to Marton Mere but have been to two other havens on the east coast. Location wise this one is right by a housing estate and off a main road. Ten mins into Blackpool. The caravan (in Regency) was very clean. I’d say all kitchenware was new as it was gleaming. Appliances also incredibly clean - the oven looked like it had never been used. Not enough towels provided but called and had additional delivered. Van location was nice - near enough to the clubhouse. It’s on the main road in the park which takes you from the entrance to the clubhouse and surprisingly quite a lot of traffic. Wouldn’t been keen on this in summer if we wanted to enjoy the deck (comparing this to other parks which are much quieter and more scenic). Clubhouse great - good set up, never a queue at the bar. Imagine it’s heaving in peak season. Entertainment very good for the little ones (we never stayed beyond 8ish so can’t comment on later entertainment). Surprised there was no little splash area for kids in the pool / no baby section. Much better pools in other locations however this one was very clean and tidy (we visited first thing both times we went). Didn’t eat on site as haven’t had the best experience at either of our last Haven visits. Mini market is reasonable (if you keep in mind it’s an on site shop) and everything you’d need if you’ve forgotten anything. Kids playgrounds a little tired and sparse. Overall the park was clean and staff pleasant and it’s a good base. I wouldn’t visit for a summer holiday as I think setting and facilities are far better at other sites.
Show more...Early season teething issues. Repairs and prob inexperienced staff. Arrival issues but once settled in all was ok. Rachel on front desk was so helpful and polite . Answered all our questions and met our needs. Entertainment staff worked very hard. Weather was terrible but plenty to do on and off site.
Show more...Touring caravan area - review of facilities Stayed Friday to Monday - first weekend of 2024 season on a touring pitch. Stayed many times before so expecting loos and shower facilities to be as they were. Informed on arrival that the usual shower toilet facilities had been converted to laundry / store and that portable showers and loos were sited on the pitch area. Toilets were okay but heavily used as less than usual number for number of pitches but the showers were horrendous. Less showers and dispute what I did having a cold shower in March wasn't the relaxing experience I'd hoped it to be. Blocked plug holes and slow drains also added to the experience. Added in unruly unsupervised kids, footballs against our caravan and no interest from site staff and a 3.30 wake up call by a passing stumbling inebriated resident. Disappointed as looked forward to for months 🫣
Show more...Caravan was lovely and clean for what we paid downside was kids roaming around till early hours messing around making so much noise drunks ringing every fire bell to their caravan it’s our second time here will definitely not be back with the amount of kids left to their own devices all night I found it disgusting that some parents really don’t care what their kids are doing
Show more...This holiday was supposed be a real treat, celebrating Mother’s Day. I actually cannot believe what unfolded. We arrived at 1pm at our diamond lodge. It all seemed lovely on face value and we happily settled in for the afternoon. The only minor issue is that our toilet didn’t flush. We called reception who said they’d send someone so we just went about our day. My parents arrived at 4pm to their caravan and found there was no electricity. We went down to reception and joined the very long queue to report this. When we reported it we were asked ‘what’s your plan, are you going for a few drinks?’. To which they say yes as it was that or sitting in a pitch dark, cold caravan. They assured us the electricity would be back on by the time they were back. It wasn’t. Constant calls and visits to reception and we could not get anyone out to their caravan. At 11:30pm we realised nobody was going to come so we had to move them into our lodge. We had booked a 3 bedroom lodge as there is myself and wife, my 20 month old and my 4 month old. They cannot share a bedroom due to their age. When we had to move my parents in we were left with no choice but to wake up our 5 month old and put her in the master bedroom with my wife and I slept on the sofa. This was NOT okay. The NHS do not recommend co sleeping under any circumstances with a baby of that age. It is incredibly dangerous and a situation we should not have been put in. My wife hardly slept due to fear and anxiety and spent the night awake ensuring our baby was safe. We also had the ongoing issue in that our lodge didn’t have a working toilet in the main bathroom. So after my wife and baby were in bed my elderly parents had to use the toilet in the main bathroom even though they couldn’t flush it. The following morning it is 9am. We are all exhausted but ready for the problems to be resolved so we can start our holiday. This unfortunately did not happen. There was constant back and forth to reception. We couldn’t seem to get anyone to understand the severity of the situation. We had a toddler and a baby in tow who were getting more and more unsettled due to being surrounded by 4 stressed out adults. Maintenance finally came to my parents caravan at 2pm and concluded it couldn’t be fixed. We then had to make the decision as to whether we should all go home or not. As we were simply not prepared for another night all sharing the lodge. Early evening and my parents were given the keys to another caravan. They were offered £48 in compensation - so a refund for their first night. Hardly compensation for what we had all endured. They had already thrown away approximately £60 of fresh and frozen food due to having no working fridge / freezer. At this point nobody had been out to our toilet. We had stopped using it, but there was obviously a terrible odour coming from it. One reason for booking a lodge, is because we have two little children. We needed a bath in our accommodation along with a larger bathroom for our toddler who is in the early stages of potty training. Due to the odour in the main bathroom we were unable use the room at all even to bath our children. This was not acceptable. We continued to call and visit reception. We were told on repeat - yes it’s on the list and we’ll get to it. On Sunday morning we went to use our dishwasher. When we turned it in water flooded into the kitchen area. Not ideal under normal circumstance but made even worse when you have a small child running around. Once again we called and visited reception. Somebody finally came out at 3pm on Sunday to look at both the toilet and the dishwasher. He replaced a part on the toilet and managed to fix it. He could not however fix the dishwasher. So we could only truly relax at 4pm on Sunday. 16 hours before we were due to leave for home. We never received a phone call from guest relations regarding potential compensation for the issues. We weren’t even offered a free drink at the bar for the trouble. We spent the majority of this ‘holiday’ trying to resolve issues and receiving appalling customer service. It has caused a huge amount of distress for my family. It was a weekend we had been looking forward to, and saving up for, for a long time. It was supposed to be a special family holiday where we could all spend some quality time together and it was completely ruined. This is a weekend we will never get back. I am also interested to know, what did Haven expect my parents to do if we hadn’t been here? Did they genuinely expect them to stay in a caravan that was pitch black and freezing cold? My parents are nearly 70 and have many health conditions. It seems insane to me that this situation was okayed by someone in your customer service team.
Show more...Stayed at haven last October and had absolutely shocking accommodation with poor customer service. Will not be using haven again. Our caravan was riddled with issues including a broken boiler (haven where aware of this as it had been reported in the annual inspection) resulting in no hot water and heating for 3days with a 2 yr old along with faulty electrics. I reported this every morning and was reassured it would be fixed everytime. We asked to see the manager and was refused, we asked for alternative accommodation and where refused. Our little girl has existing medical conditions which we made them aware of. Our accommodation contributed in her having to have medical treatment during our stay caused by damp, cold accommodation. We spent two whole days of our holiday in the caravan waiting for repair men who agreed the condition of our caravan was poor. Haven think it is acceptable to provide paying guests with such accommodation. One morning it was so cold our little girl woke with purple lips and blue toes. We left our holiday early and travelled the 6 hours home. I was in tears in reception as I had brought our family here. We have reported this to the claims team and they feel this is acceptable. We have escalated this to the CEO and awaiting more investigations. Absolutely shocking.

We both arrived on Monday the 11th of March and were allocated number 32 Windsor a Willerby beach break, the caravan itself was basic but more than catered for our needs while exploring the surrounding area, it was clean enough and at a quiet enough part of the site, the site itself has all the normal facilities clubhouse, amusement arcade, etc, etc. We both would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone as it appears looked after.
