Clayton Hotel Cambridge

We had a one night stay at the Clayton hotel. The room was Very good. It was comfortable and the bed was great. Everything was relaxing and easy and the staff were always very helpful and accommodating. We will be staying at the Clayton hotel again. It is also in the centre of Cambridge.

I rarely give 5 star reviews after a one night stay, but have to make an exception in the case of this hotel. I was in Cambridgeshire for a concert and needed a hotel with easy access to the city centre and preferably near the station as I was arriving by train, the Clayton met those requirements being a stone’s throw from the station and a gentle walk of about a mile into the city centre. The receptionist who greeted us was very cheerful and welcoming, a feature of all the staff we met during our short stay. My room was large and very comfortable with a king size bed. The bathroom had a large wet room style walk in shower (I understand baths are only available in 2 suites) and was similarly large with plenty of room and appropriate sized towels rails, often missing in some hotels. Breakfast was excellent, my friend was particularly impressed by the croissants which were fresh, moist and a bit crispy as they should be - they wouldn’t have been out of place in a Parisian hotel. The full English spread was being regularly topped up with freshly cooked items, all in all one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel in quite a while. Even the coffee machine produced good coffee. We’ve been visiting Cambridge for around 15 years since our son went to university there, and still visit regularly as he lives on the outskirts with his family, the Clayton is likely to see me again when we next visit.

I stayed at another hotel that wasn’t very good. So I came here to have hotel breakfast. I was blown away. Sure, the breakfast was good, but the best part was the service by the staff. A special shout out to Ramy. He showed me around the hotel lobby area and gave me tips on where to sit, what to get etc. A very welcoming experience :)

The hotel is in a great location within a 15-minute walk to the centre of Cambridge. The room and bed were both extremely comfortable would stay again. There is parking at Cambridge train station which is close enough and around £50 for a week.

Great location, modern spacious rooms and super comfy beds. Good for kids and adults with extra bed no problem. Great service from Ramy at breakfast, very helpful and welcoming. Good selection of food, from full English to Continental. Would recommend

This is such a calm and peaceful hotel which is well ran and all the staff have a keen interest in knowing if everything is alright from breakfast to dinner. Staff on reception and throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful. The comfort is high, bed was amazingly soft, bathrooms modern and very clean. Close to the Cambridge Train Station which is a 1 minute walk straight ahead. Ramy at breakfast was amazing. Thank you.

Another excellent stay at the Clayton in Cambridge while on business last week. The bedrooms are exquisite, roomy and have every comfort and we also availed of the meeting room including lunches etc - all worked perfectly well, comfortable and conducive to a great week of business too. The addition of Callum as the relatively new manager brought a friendly face to the hotel and a most welcome smile at the start of the day- busily checking on all of the customers at breakfast time to ensure everyone was catered for - including our poached eggs. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to my next visit. Thank you Callum and team.

Great stay at the Clayton. From quick and friendly check in , clean and comfortable room, great cocktails and delicious meal , everything was just perfect! Staff were so polite and helpful and took great care of us . Thank you so much and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful stay all round at his beautiful property. Travelled as a couple for pleasure and our stay couldn't have been more enjoyable. Location of this hotel is excellent - so well connected to transport links and lovely surroundings. Fabulous bar for relaxing with delicious cocktails and tasty bites, decor is super modern and chic. Topping off our stay was the wonderfully attentive staff, so friendly and professional and anything we asked for was never too much trouble - from check in to check out we couldn't fault anything (just that fact we couldn't stay any longer!!) - well done to the Clayton Cambridge for making our stay so memorable - we will definitely be returning as soon as we can!

We had the most amazing weekend away. all the staff went way and beyond. The room was perfect and so clean and fresh, the pillows are the most fluffy pillows I've ever slept on. The bed was like a cloud. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, food was spectacular, bar staff were bubbly and chatty. Over all I just can not thank Clayton Hotel and staff enough for the most wonderful experience and fantastic romantic weekend away.
