DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Nottingham - Gateway

Attended a family party here early this month, Room was great, marred only by the lighting being a little dim and confusing regarding the bedside switch which seems to turn off all the lights including the bathroom ! Food was good with a generous buffet breakfast Plenty of parking and a quick check in is great

Would highly recommend this hotel great room, staff and breakfast. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Only minor snag there was no drinking water in the room would have put the finishing touch to our stay.

We entered this hotel and checked in with lady receptionist called 'Delia', who greeted in a pleasant manner. She was very knowledgeable and had a professional attitude. The hotel was sparkling clean throughout. Our room was spacious, well laid out, with a great walk-in shower in the bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities, a safe and fridge, all provided in the price. The breakfast time slot was 7 to 11 a.m., and was very well catered. The checkout time of 12 noon was also welcome. All the staff in the hotel seemed very well trained. All in all we would return.

Despite reading a few mixed reviews I have nothing but praise for this hotel. Plenty of secure parking. Friendly welcome from the receptionist, Rakhi, always makes a difference. My room was in a separate block but had a good desk to work on. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. I had a drink in the bar which was a little expensive for the area but then that’s hotel prices! Nice cookie on arrival too and friendly staff at a good breakfast. 5 minutes from the M1 so will stay again!

The room was okay, the bed was comfortable…THE Tv was fantastic…...Breakfast and drinks were lovely…..however there seemed to be marks and scratches around the room in particularly the bathroom and the shower there was chips on the floor etc. I had a shock when i was washing my face in the sink I lifted the plug and it was absolutely filthy with build up of dead skin, faeces, and other gunge. I immediately contacted the reception and asked for a manger to have a look, although the manager came up swiftly and was a pleasant lady, she cleaned it and apologised, i felt Hilton’s Policy to make it right wasn’t implemented, I wasn’t offered any free drinks or meals etc which was disappointing. Finally when I checked out early the man on the reception at night was unfriendly didn’t even ask if I had a nice stay.

Rooms were very clean and staff were helpful. Nice reception area with plenty of space to sit and work. Wi-Fi was quick and easy to connect to. Very well-equipped small gym onsite which is much better than gyms of this size in other comparable hotels. Breakfast options were varied and well presented. Dinner was disappointing with very basic breaded mushrooms and pretty basic options all round but doesn’t take away from a positive stay…thanks!

Fantastic staff, very relaxed atmosphere & exceptional service. We stayed in a King Deluxe room which was very comfortable indeed. Superb choice for breakfast which was very enjoyable indeed. The hotel is very close to the M1 and central to our needs.

We went to stay prior to my son's graduation. We had two rooms next to each other, the rooms were well equipped with usual hilton ironing board, hair dryer introductory cookies. Breakfast was very nice and had a relaxing vibe in the breakfast room. Would always be nice to have proper lights in the middle of the hotel room ceiling, to genuinely light the room, but that is a common gripe with all hotels, not exclusive to this one. Nice hotel , good that its not a high rise, and only across a couple of floors, with water all around, would use it again

Called to make a booking. Given a price. Called back to confirm and the price had risen by £50 due to being a popular night ! The hotel and car park were virtually empty during our stay ! Sadly disappointing …a family room for three adults. A kingsize bed with a single sofa bed. A single sofa bed you in which you could feel every spring… each and every spring. A fridge in the room but no bottled water. I can’t remember my last stay anywhere without bottled water in the room. This is a Hilton ! A hairdryer but no mirror in reach of the hairdryer to style your hair in.. had to use the TV as a reflective surface. (I am sure there will be a H&S reason why there is no mirror!) But there was a mirrored wardrobe door. Staff were lovely… really lovely. Will stay there again …due only to location to family. Also after breakfast Mother used the disabled toilet nearby and there was no toilet roll. Very pretty with the chandeliers but a little bit ‘fur coat and no knickers’ Need to keep your eyes on the prize. Forget the warm cookie on arrival and swop for water in the room a mirror and toilet roll ! You can also get blue light discount in some Doubletrees Hiltons .. but not this one. Should be all or none in my view.. couldn’t fault the breakfast to be fair… and lovely and clean.

When we arrived no one was in the reception area, I had to wait and then press the buzzer for them to come and check us in, the receptionist came out without greeting neither a smile on her face, neither offered a cookie ( don't need them but its their job to offer). The room was perfectly fine, breakfast was good with only a asian( Chinese I think) kitchen chef who I felt was the best as she was smiling and greeting everyone and was the only good staff I encountered.Overall a good hotel but I think the staff should be more friendly and smiling.
