The Ruskin Hotel

Recently returned from this fab hotel. Spotlessly clean. Food is amazing. Staff are lovely. Entertainment is excellent (2 acts per night, plus a compere who has a great rapport with the guests). Ideally situated for the centre of Blackpool . We will definitely stay here over and over.

We arrived at the Ruskin at noon, and had expected to just leave our luggage and go wandering until the room was ready (3pm), but receptionist insisted she checked first, and was able to advise that our room had already been cleaned, and was ready immediately. Met up with one of the housekeeping staff as we arrived at the room, and she was very pleasant and chatty. Throughout our stay, we found the attitude of all the staff at the Ruskin to be friendly and helpful. We had booked a premier room and were very impressed with the cleanliness, size and facilities included in the room. During our stay, housekeeping attended the room daily. My only negative comment on the room is due to the age of the building, which results in you being able to hear steps from the floor above - which can be problematic if there are energetic young children staying. The location of the Ruskin is ideal for Blackpool's attractions, being very close to the promenade, winter gardens, blackpool tower, and the new houndshill shoppnig centre. It was at this shopping centre where we parked our car, as we were too late booking to take advantage of the limited spaces which the hotel have available. WiFi internet connectivity was excellent throughout all areas of the hotel, which was very useful both in our room and in the common areas. Although we had originally only booked the room, we decided to upgrade to include breakfast which was a well supplied hot and cold buffet. To avoid congestion, the hotel did ask for an estimated time when we would want breakfast, but even when people arrived early or late, there was no problem. Evening meals were from a choice of the Table d'Hote menu (which changes daily) or the full A La Carte. We only dined twice, but as this was our first holiday for some time, we went for the full A La Carte menu, ordering Sea Bass and Fillet Steak. Both were excellent, good quality food, well prepared, with good service. The hotel also boasts a bar, which continues the theme of friendly and pleasant staff, and offers a range of food at lunch times (until 4pm) and evenings (until 8pm). And there is a large cabaret bar, with nightly entertainment from about 7.30 to midnight (including bingo). We did not take part in the bingo, but did see a couple of the acts (they change daily) and enjoyed them thoroughly. My partner made use of the Retreat Spa in the hotel, having a facial treatment. They have quite a wide range of treatments and very knowledgable staff, who are able to tailor the treatment to best suit the subject. There are also steam room, sauna and jacuzzi facilities available for booking. Overall, this is a deceptively well equipped hotel, in an excellent location, with plenty of staff who genuinely seem to want to make your stay enjoyable. We will be returning in the near future, but bringing friends with so they can share in our enjoyment of this hotel.

This is the second time that the Agents Association GB have hosted a meeting/function at the Ruskin Hotel for their members, the first time was in November 2023 and the second time was at the end of February 2024. On both occasions, this first class hotel and staff could not have done enough for us in supplying us with a superb function suite with the provision of refreshments. Highly recommend this hotel for all your needs, lovely hotel, great location and top drawer entertainment.

Great hotel ! Been quite a few times now (twice a year for a few years now) and each time it gets better. Cosy surroundings, clean rooms, friendly staff, fantastic entertainment, amazing food. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Blackpool. See you in November guys !

Where do i start from walking through the front door to check in everything was just perfect,the food was lovely the drinks reasonable, hotel is spotless throughout staff are very nice but Sean the compare is just hilarious and such a nice guy all in all we had a fantastic time and will definately be back big thumbs up to the Ruskin and all the staff.

Staff are lovely, was an easy check in and they are always very helpful, my room was nice and clean. I had an evening meal which was great, fast service and brilliant value aswell as the breakfast which has plenty of choice. Night staff are great, there is always someone around if you need anything.

This hotel iis amazing, staff very helpful caring and nothing to much trouble, food excelent, room very spacious and clean and as everything you need for your stay,. The hotel its self as lots going on ,with spa retreat, entertament every night. I would def recormend this hotel to all my friends and family. Cant wait for my next stay at the hotel..

We had a great stay ,all staff are very polite from the moment you walk in. Great food and entertainment on every night and bingo. The hotel is in a great location and a car park, which is great too. We will definitely be back. Well done, everyone. 🙂

Booked here for a weekend away with my partner Fri- Sunday, worst choice I’ve made. Had 3 changes of rooms. First room we were put in was a box room with single beds.. complained the woman who dealt with us was snotty and rude and ‘found’ us another room. Second room wasn’t much better double bed, scruffy. Baring in mind we paid over £200. Beyond a joke now, made another complaint to finally get the room we should have had from the start half way through the last night staying. Had to pay an extra £40 for Godknows what considering the chaos we had. We ended up booking another hotel in blackpool from the disaster we had and had a much better time and bigger room for less money. Would not bother going rude staff, no apologies and waste of money will not be returning.

This was my 8th stay at The Ruskin Hotel and as usual it was absolutely fantastic. Great food spotlessly clean, amazing entertainment. Staff are so friendly too. We are booked in for another visit in June. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Blackpool. The Ruskin Hotel is way above it's 3 star rating. I would very highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
